Forced 1080i in some DX11 games is causing screen flicker.

$

Hey Folks,

When loading DX11 games in full-screen at 1920x1080, the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel sometimes forcefully changes the video output to 60i Hz from 60p Hz. As a result, it causes horrible screen flicker. Changing the game to run in windowed mode returns it to 60p Hz and removes the flicker, as does changing the resolution from 1920x1080 to something else. This is only noticeable on the SECOND screen, which is a plug 'n play standard 1080p monitor.

PC Specification:

Graphics: GTX 880m (running driver 337.50 beta - no alternative version available yet) & Intel HD 4600 integrated (running latest drivers).

CPU: Intel i7 4910MQ 2.90 GHz.

RAM: 16GB DDR3.

2nd Monitor: 24" 1080p LED screen operating at 60Hz connected via DisplayPort -> HDMI (though HDMI -> HDMI makes no difference).

OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1.

Why would the Intel drivers be automatically forcing my resolution to 1080 interlaced when the monitor can (and does) support 1080 progressive in every other context?

Thanks.

Intel HD4400 Output to Digital Television from pop up menu

When I use the keyboard key to switch from my laptop to the digital television using the windows 8.1 interface it switches correctly to 1920x1080, but if I use the right click menu and select the quick links under the graphics options menu to switch to Digital Television, it sets the resolution at 1776x1000.

driver version 10.18.10.3907

looking at the system info for the monitor its showing it doesn't support 1920x1080 at 60hz, but it does.

Thanks for any help.

Can't detect Intel Integrated Graphics

Hi!

Today, I changed the monitor- setup on my desk. In addition to an existing 24" 1st monitor, I replaced my 2nd monitor, 15" with another 24", as well as adding a third; 42".

- First, I connected the 42", and all 3 monitors worked fine - all of them connected to my discrete graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660). 1st monitor via HDMI, 2nd minotor via DVI-I to VGA, and 3rd via DVI-D to HDMI.

- Second, I disconnect my 15" 2nd mintor, replacing it with the new 24". Now, only monitor 1 and 3 worked. Although I tried reconnectiong, rebooting and changing adapter, nothing worked. So I connect directly into the motherboards VGA- port. Still nothing is happening. So I try connectiong my 1st monitor to the motherboards HDMI-port as well - no signal there either.

I then try to find out if I need to update my Intel Graphics Drivers, but here is where I got stuck:

     - I cannot, what so ever, detect my internal graphics card (through device manager, CPU-Z, the advanced settings in 'Screen Resolution')

     - I cannot find any indication of an Intel Graphics Driver on my computer.

     - When i run the Driver Update Utility on the Intel- site, only the NVIDIA- card shows up.

     - When i try to install the THIS diver, an error occures telling me my computer doesn't have the right requirements.

Intel (R) HD Graphics HDMI-Output stopped working

Hello,

I'm looking for a solution on the HDMI-Output problem for a couple of month now and wasn't able to fix it till now. Allmost tried every suggestion I found in Intel's communities or from other forums by Google searching!

For me it's important to get my 2nd monitor working back again, but it looks like I have to buy another computer with an external GPU that doesn't have those issues. Can't really believe, that Intel isn't able to provide their customers with a fix on an issue that is known for over a year now.

So here are my informations on what happened to my system:

I'm running an ACER Aspire Z5700 All-In-One Desktop with an Intel I5 660 CPU actually, which I have changed from the I3 550 CPU, because I thought it may fix the issue, but it doesn't. Have bought the system around 2 years ago and all was working fine. Then I decided to work with a 2nd monitor and took an ACER X223W for that, had to connect over HDMI -> DVI because monitor only has VGA and DVI-Input and the AIO has only one HDMI-Output. But that wasn't a problem, all was working fine, got signal on 2nd monitor, could change between clone or extended, had no problems while powering off/on, all worked like a charm, till I disconnected the HDMI-Cable one time for using the 2nd monitor to configure another computer. After this was done, I tried to reconnect to my AIO and the trouble begun. On my 2nd monitor I only got a black screen with a short "no signal" message, that monitor falls back to power-safe!

OK, what's going wrong now I asked myself, why the hell will no signal found. I tried to get a signal again with a rollback, nothing changed. I tried all available drivers, from Acer Support and all of the Intel drivers. I have updated the BIOS to latest and downgraded it, I bought new cables and adapters, nothing worked. Then I bought the I5 660 CPU around 3 weeks ago to give it a try but same result. Last thing I could do, was to format and try with a fresh install. F***, had to backup around 650 GB files, but I tried and horray nothing worked at all.

So, now we come to the part, that makes me sure, that it isn't a Windows 7 issue, it is definitive an Intel driver issue, because if I take same HDMI-cable, adapter and monitor and connect it to my son's computer, also running Windows 7 but with external GPU, then all is working fine again. Tested with an LCD-TV too, on my AIO no signal, on my son's computer it worked.

Of cause, now we could think the HDMI-Output-Port might not work, but I can't believe that, cause when either the 2nd monitor or LCD-TV is connected, they will shown in device manager, in Intels Control Panel and in Windows Control.

Here are some screens:

DxDiag and ICP-Diag are attached.

Maybe I got blind over all the time with trying to fix the issue, but I really don't know what else I could do or how to solve it, so I'll give it away to you with the hope someone may help me.

Sorry for my english, it isn't my native language, tried my best to describe all I had done.

Intel HD Graphics Need to Uncheck Send to TV

Hi,

I have an Asuspro p550L laptop and I wanted to output to an hdmi tv.

I bought an HDMI cable and hooked the cable up to the laptop and the TV.

I then right-clicked and in my intel graphics options there was an option to send to the TV

I clicked that and my laptop's screen went blank. How do I get my laptop to display to the built in display

by default and not the HDMI TV when I plug in the HDMI cable? I looked in graphics settings and options, but

couldn't find an option related to it. Let me know. Could I just restore options to default somehow?

Also the HDMI out is not working, but that is another problem more easily solvable if I can just duplicate

my laptop's display to the HDMI and then try resolutions etc until I can find a suitable one.

Graphics Card Troubles

Alright, so, I have an Acer Aspire P3. When I downloaded Windows 8.1, I couldn't play Minecraft anymore and everything else was extremely slow. Today, I checked my diagnostics thingy and it said I had a basic Microsoft graphics driver. But before, I had a really fancy Intel graphics driver. I've tried everything including re-installing my drivers several times. But NOTHING is working! I bought this computer to play my video games (Which now I can't do). So any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

I have an Problem with my HTPC. The System is an fresh installed (no Upgrade from 8.0)  Windows 8.1 (64 bit) System.

Hardware:      Asus H87M-Pro Board with latest Bios 0906

                    Intel i5 4570s with hd4600 Graphic

                    LG 60LA7408-ZA TV

The TV is direct connected with an HDMI cable (no HDMI switch or amplifier).

Software:       Windows 8.1 64 bit German with Media Center (all drivers up to date)

Intel Graphic driver Version 3316 (installed from zip in Device Manager)

The Problem: If I start the PC (TV is on), all works fine. If I change the Input on the TV or Power off the TV, the Sound is lost. After reconnect, the Audio Settings show the HDMI Sound as not connected. Reconnecting is not possible. Disconnecting  HDMI Cable and Reconnect Cable does not work. If i Reboot the PC, all works fine.

I have checked this with 3 HDMI cable, the original Driver from ASUS, the Driver from Windows Update, the Driver from your downloadsite and with the driver found here on board.

intel, please correct this, Thanks!!!!!

I attached 2 Files created with dxdiag (with and without sound).

Thanks for help.

Cannot disable game fullscreen scaling (Intel HD 4600)

$

The problem:

When I start a fullscreen application in lower than native screen resolution, the image is automatically scaled (and stretched) to fill the screen.

Besides the obvious display problem, this seems to come with considerable amount of lag added. (At least the mouse movement feels very sluggish)

CPU: i5-4690K

Intel HD Graphics 4600

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2032BW

1680x1050 (16:10)

To be precise, the tested game is GTA 3 (DirectX) at 1024x768. (But it happens in any such game)

I want it to be displayed pixel accurate with black bars all around the game.

(GTA 3 supports my native resolution, but that is besides the point. (Actually, it isn't "properly" supported, as it is still stretched.))

I have read threads where people want the opposite, so why is mine always scaled and stretched?

Driver Version: 10.18.10.3907

DirectX: 11.0

The only scaling options I have are:

Display -> Scaling

Video -> Image Scaling

Neither of them seems to be doing what I want.

If I didn't know better, I'd think my monitor just stretches the image. The monitor reports 1024x768 as the resolution (while it is stretched to fullscreen).

But under Windows XP with a Nvidia GeForce GPU I could select "No Scaling" in their driver software and the result was the desired black bars around the game.

Please help?

Intel HD Graphics 4400 flickering/blanking randomly with 2 external monitors attached to DP MST hub

Hi,

I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon (2nd generation) with Intel HD Graphics 4400, connected to two Dell U2713HM monitors via EVGA DisplayPort MST hub. About half of the time it works correctly, but other times when I plug in the DisplayPort cable to the laptop, one of 3 things can happen:

1) all the monitors display some picture, then go blank, then display something again, then go blank, ad infinitum

2) one or two of the monitors are blank, and if I go to Windows Screen Resolution window, I can manually select "Extend desktop to this display", and all the monitors then work as expected

3) like (2), but one of the monitors shows only 1920x1080 as the maximum resolution (the correct resolution is 2560x1440)

Sometimes the endless loop also happens out of the blue (when I'm not connecting any cables, just during normal work). Also, sometimes the displays just go black for a moment and then resume working normally.

I contacted EVGA support, and they told me it must be a graphics adapter/driver issue.

I have Windows 8.1 x64 with the latest Intel Graphics Drivers (15.36.3.64.3907, driver version 10.18.10.3907). I've also installed the latest BIOS from Lenovo (1.17/GRET40WW).

Thanks,

Magnus

Auto scaling issue in Full-Screen Mode with Intel HD 4600 graphics

There is auto scaling issue in Full-Screen mode ( usually in game ^-^ )

In NVIDIA, it is possible to scale game screen full-fittingly with fixed aspect ratio.

But, In Intel HD 4600 graphics driver... there is no way to fit game screen fully in FULL SCREEN MODE.

merong.png

In Intel graphics, FIXED ASPECT RATIO only works when I set game resolution max to possible.

( In my system, max possible resolution is 1920 X 1080 and ONLY when I set IT on game, FIXED ASPECT RATIO works. )

But I believe it is not good solution because there are so many classic games having no option to change resolution.

Is it possible to auto scaling like NVIDIA in FULL SCREEN MODE ???

Disabling "Restore defaults" ctrl+alt+F8

Intel HD Control Panel for the new Samsung NP940X3G - Intel HD Graphics 4400, driver 10.18.10.3643 (unable to update to 15.33.18.64.3496 due to "not validated for this computer").

I would like to disable the restore the defaults keystroke - Ctrl+Alt-F8, as it drives me insane - i frequently use such combinations in my developer work, and when some utility decides to handle it, and resets all my settings, while providing no way to uninstall or disable such behavior, it should receive a "highly unusable, annoying, and overall bad design" award.  Please advise. Thanks!

Monitor sleep leads to constant "device connect" / "device disconnect" sounds (and other very annoying issues)

$

I had been running an HP w2207 monitor with an AMD setup for about 3 years without any problems using the digital input.  Just "upgraded" to an i5 2500k system.  Running Win 7 64 bit before and now.

The w2207 works with the 2500k system wonderfully -- until power saving settings turn the monitor off.  Then I'm subjected to a constant symphony of "device connect," "device disconnect" sounds.  The only way to stop it is to turn those sounds off in the windows sounds screen, or to prevent the power saving system from turning the monitor off at all.

I just added an HP 2311x as a second monitor, and the problem doesn't happen with that monitor, which is a couple of years newer.

Lately, when the computer recovers from S1 standby, the 2311x comes up, but the w2207 is not even detected.  I have to reboot my system for my Intel 2500k system to see it again.

I don't have these problems using VGA with the w2207, but I want to use the digital input (the quality difference is quite noticeable).  Again, I had no troubles of this sort with the w2207 on my AMD system right up to the day about a month ago that I moved to the Intel 2500k system, and have been having these problems with the Intel system from jumpstreet.  So this very much appears to have something to do with the way the w2007 communicates with the HD 3000 graphics in the Intel.  I was using the 2509 driver, and just updated to the 2550 driver, with no change.

I hope somebody can help.  That "somebody" would probably be Intel with a driver update, but I'd also love to hear if anybody can suggest a temporary workaround.

BTW, my system is rock solid stable otherwise.

- Video Card: DirectX 9.0 compliant video card with 64MB RAM

I installed and found the Graphics is not upto the mark as the indoor is seen clearly but the outdoor I get blind / blank, for eg I could not see the blue water in ocean instead I get plain white in its place..

Official Black-screen thread - We need your help!

Hello Graphics Communities!

For a very long time now we've been trying to track down, diagnose, and correct an issue that seems to be happening all across the board with Intel® Graphics.  Users, for various reasons - seem to have issues with OEM systems (and Intel® NUC's) losing their display for different events.

  • Installing new drivers
  • Rebooting
  • Computers idling, going into sleep or hibernation
  • Other random events

We have run into a stumbling block in fixing this issue, and that is that we are unable to reproduce the symptoms above.  We have ordered exact-matching systems, displays and cables - and matched our configurations to those of the users having problems, and we are completely unable to reproduce the problem.  The issue is complex, but in this particular case - it stems from the fact that two users with the same configuration are not guaranteed to have the problem, it varies from user to user, system to system, display to display.

What we at Intel® are asking now though is 2-fold.  If you are one of these users (or a business) experiencing a consistent black-screening issue as mentioned above, we would like to procure your COMPLETE system configuration.  This means, we want you to ship us (at our expense) - the System (desktop or laptop), display (TV, monitor) AND the cable (hdmi, dp, dvi, vga) used by your system when it starts to have a blackscreen failure.  If you are willing to do this, you should be aware that we will keep your system for an extended period, and will compensate you by replacing your setup.

NOW!  Even if you are not willing to send us your system, and would just like to inform us that you have a black-screen issue.  That is okay too. Even if you have already submitted this info in some of our other black-screen threads, feel free to submit it here too.  Please submit the following information into this thread so that we can continue to document all possible instances of it.  Just copy and paste the below list and put in relevant information (completely!).  *NOTE* If you have not already done so, please update your BIOS and Display Driver to the latest version available.  We cannot accept a report of a failing configuration that is not up to date.  Additionally, if you are running your display through a 3rd party device such as a projector or an AV/R (receiver), you need to show that the problem still occurs without the extra device connected (a direct connection from system to display is required).

Are you willing to send your system to us? (Yes/No)
Is your system a laptop or desktop?
If desktop, is it custom built, or manufactured?
If desktop, what is the make/model of your motherboard?
What is the make/model of your system? (COMPLETE model name required)
What is the model of your CPU?
What is the make/model of your failing display(s)?
If laptop, is your built-in display failing? (Yes/No)
What is your operating system?
Is it a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system?
What display driver version do you have installed?
What type of connection are you using? (HDMI, VGA, DP, DVI?)
What happens that results in the blackscreen failure?

Any/all information is valuable.

Thank you for your information & cooperation!

World of Tanks Intel HD 4000 problem

Hello

I'll just get straight to the point.
I can't turn on shadows or flora (greyed out) in the World of Tanks game settings and i don't know any reasons behind that. Game looks really bad without dynamic shadowing not mentioning the grass. I'm using MacBook Pro 13' Mid 2012 Windows 8 and the newest Intel drivers. Fresh install of the system doesn't help. On my second computer with GeForce graphic card everything is working fine. Also I AM using the "Improved" graphics setting so it's not the case.

Is there any way to fix it or force through game files?

OpenGL regression after updating to 15.36.3.64.3907

$

Hi!

I just updated to the latest Intel HD drivers 15.36.3.64.3907, and while mostly I've seen performance increases and overall less glitches (at least with D3D), I just found a clear regression with OpenGL support.

An open source program called Dolphin (found at https://dolphin-emu.org) supports both D3D and OpenGL backends on Windows systems. While D3D runs fine for me, I've tested the OpenGL support every now and then. And OpenGL worked just fine with previous stable drivers (May 2014). Now with latest drivers I don't get any video output when OpenGL is selected, only audio plays fine (i.e. program itself is running fine). Just a black screen.

The program is mainly used for emulation, but it runs also "homebrew" programs/games that can be found at wiibrew.org . These free programs can also be used for debugging in this case.

I only tested one other OpenGL based software, which seemed to work, so this isn't a total breakage of OpenGL (it would have been noticed before, I know )

I'm really excited that you've added OpenGL 4.3 support and the drivers are clearly evolving, and setbacks like this are inevitable. This still suggests some kind of incompatibility with the OpenGL drivers, and I would highly appreciate if some of the developers looked into this. Are there any other known incompatibilities that are being worked on..?
