Disabling "Restore defaults" ctrl+alt+F8

Intel HD Control Panel for the new Samsung NP940X3G - Intel HD Graphics 4400, driver 10.18.10.3643 (unable to update to 15.33.18.64.3496 due to "not validated for this computer").

I would like to disable the restore the defaults keystroke - Ctrl+Alt-F8, as it drives me insane - i frequently use such combinations in my developer work, and when some utility decides to handle it, and resets all my settings, while providing no way to uninstall or disable such behavior, it should receive a "highly unusable, annoying, and overall bad design" award.  Please advise. Thanks!

Unable to access high resolution

I have a Dell 3000WFP monitor with native resolution 2560x1600@60HZ (latest Dell driver /.inf file installed)

This monitor is being driven by an ASUS Z87-A motherboard with integrated HD4600 graphics adapter (latest motherboard BIOS)

I am running Windows 8.1x64, latest automatic updates

Whether by HDMI 1.4a cable or DVI-D cable (the only two options available), the maximum resolution the intel driver recognizes is a disappointing 1920x1200

I can plug the same monitor into my Nvidia GTX780 and get full native resolution via same DVI-D cable.  I need this GPU not to be driving my display however, as I need all it's processing cycles for CUDA calculations

I have seen reference to adding custom resolutions to the Intel driver, but there seems to be no way to do this in reality.

The custommodeapp.exe file supplied with latest Intel HD4600 driver does nothing when clicked, even using administrator privileges.  I note this file is not installed into windows/system32/drivers/Graphics as one member suggested in another thread, There is not even a 'Graphics' subdirectory created in 'Drivers' by the installer, and using windows search function reveals the only instance of the custommodeapp.exe remains within the folder containing the supplied installer itself - and this doesn't appear to work anyway..

Can anyone please tell me how can I add 2560x1600 resolution, given the above?

New driver via Windows Update? - v10.18.10.3977

A few days ago I updated to the new drivers released by Intel for the HD 4000 series - v3960.

Today, Windows Update (Windows 8.1, 64-bit) offered me an update to 3977, which is now installed.

Are there any release notes for this driver? I note that it still hasn't fixed (for me) the small-centred-image-with-black-borders issue in DirectX 10/11 drivers which I was still seeing with v3960, but that's not a surprise since this version was presumably finished several days ago anyway...

Official Black-screen thread - We need your help!

Hello Graphics Communities!

For a very long time now we've been trying to track down, diagnose, and correct an issue that seems to be happening all across the board with Intel® Graphics.  Users, for various reasons - seem to have issues with OEM systems (and Intel® NUC's) losing their display for different events.

  • Installing new drivers
  • Rebooting
  • Computers idling, going into sleep or hibernation
  • Other random events

We have run into a stumbling block in fixing this issue, and that is that we are unable to reproduce the symptoms above.  We have ordered exact-matching systems, displays and cables - and matched our configurations to those of the users having problems, and we are completely unable to reproduce the problem.  The issue is complex, but in this particular case - it stems from the fact that two users with the same configuration are not guaranteed to have the problem, it varies from user to user, system to system, display to display.

What we at Intel® are asking now though is 2-fold.  If you are one of these users (or a business) experiencing a consistent black-screening issue as mentioned above, we would like to procure your COMPLETE system configuration.  This means, we want you to ship us (at our expense) - the System (desktop or laptop), display (TV, monitor) AND the cable (hdmi, dp, dvi, vga) used by your system when it starts to have a blackscreen failure.  If you are willing to do this, you should be aware that we will keep your system for an extended period, and will compensate you by replacing your setup.

NOW!  Even if you are not willing to send us your system, and would just like to inform us that you have a black-screen issue.  That is okay too. Even if you have already submitted this info in some of our other black-screen threads, feel free to submit it here too.  Please submit the following information into this thread so that we can continue to document all possible instances of it.  Just copy and paste the below list and put in relevant information (completely!).  *NOTE* If you have not already done so, please update your BIOS and Display Driver to the latest version available.  We cannot accept a report of a failing configuration that is not up to date.  Additionally, if you are running your display through a 3rd party device such as a projector or an AV/R (receiver), you need to show that the problem still occurs without the extra device connected (a direct connection from system to display is required).

Are you willing to send your system to us? (Yes/No)
Is your system a laptop or desktop?
If desktop, is it custom built, or manufactured?
If desktop, what is the make/model of your motherboard?
What is the make/model of your system? (COMPLETE model name required)
What is the model of your CPU?
What is the make/model of your failing display(s)?
If laptop, is your built-in display failing? (Yes/No)
What is your operating system?
Is it a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system?
What display driver version do you have installed?
What type of connection are you using? (HDMI, VGA, DP, DVI?)
What happens that results in the blackscreen failure?

Any/all information is valuable.

Thank you for your information & cooperation!

Intel HD 3000 eDP 120Hz LFP

Hi Intel Community,

I have recently been unable to tackle an issue that has been bugging me for quite some time with an HD 3000 + 120Hz LG LFP connected via eDP. (laptop)

In short: The Windows Display Mode List does not enumerate all the possible Hz that are supported by the screen.

The screen itself supports 60Hz, 96Hz and 120Hz, out of which only 60Hz shows up.

However restarting the Intel card via Device Manager enables 120Hz to appear, with 96Hz still missing.

The interesting thing is that Intel's Information Centre via the Intel Control Panel shows the proper "Built-In Display" information. I assume that this function might have nothing to do with the functionality of the driver.

The rest of the Intel Control Panel also only provides me with only the 60Hz and 120Hz option (after device manager restart).

Is it at all possible to adjust the driver to make it "recognize" the display properly? I am keen on trying out Intel tru3D / stereoscopic via the DirectX Quad Buffer API.

My first thought was that the EDID might not be read properly. I have matched the EDID as seen by the Intel driver as pretty much the same as given in these product specification documents (only difference being the ASCII name string): ftp://helpedia.com/pub/temp/datasheets/monitors/Panels/Panel_LG_Display_LP173WF2-TPB2_0_[DS].pdf

My next thought was that maybe the bitbashing dword will somehow help me (taken from an older driver as the newer ones do not install with this dword).

I would be happy for any suggestions.

Intel drivers not working with Microsoft Office 2013

The past two graphics driver updates(10.18.10.3960 and 10.18.10.3907) for Intel 4400 graphics for Windows 8.1 64 bit do not seem to work properly with Microsoft Office 2013. When I have either of those two drivers installed all Microsoft office programs I have show up blurry; I have attached a photo. For now I have reverted to driver 10.18.10.3621 and it works fine.

I think I solve the problem that Intel HD graphics can't output HDMI or DVI signal

My new computer

CPU i5 2500 k

MB Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3

Monitor ASUS MS246H

OS Windows 7 x64

Days before, I also have the same problem that so many guys have.
I can't get the output from 2500K via the HDMI port and DVI port after install the driver,
It's fine while using the DVI or HDMI port. But when I install the driver and reboot, there is no display after the screen "Windows Starting".I go into the safe mode uninstall the driver to using the system driver, everything just go fine after reboot. And when I using the VGA port from the MB,there is no problem after install driver.I try many kinds of drivers, the HDMI and DVI port also have no display.

Now I solve the problem using the method as below:
1.prepare a vga-vga line, and connect it from MB vga port to monitor vga port
2.connect a hdmi or dvi line from mb to monitor
3.select the monitor output mode to VGA
4.power on the PC and login the system (Now it's using the vga,so there is no problem)
5.install or reinstall the driver and DO NOT restart after the job is over.
6.press WIN+P and select the duplicate mode (the second one) and press enter to confirm.
7.right click on your desktop and select "screen resolution" ,that you will see your monitor is seperated into two parts (1|2)
8.then change your monitor output mode to HDMI or DVI,Is it working now?
9.remove the vga line, and the output form hdmi or dvi is good

10.reboot the PC and everything is OK

Hope this method is useful to you, thanks.

Has anyone been able to change the res to 3840x2160p 60hz with intel drivers ? as soon as I enable Displayport 1.2 in my Dell UP3214Q monitor all hell breakes loose, at least with the latest 15.36.0.3652 drivers I dont get BSOD, Is intel working to fix this???

Whre can I download older version of HD4600 Windows 8.1 driver?

I need to download the 5/21/2014 release date version of the HD4600 IRIS driver (64-bit) for Windows 8.1, but am unable to find this driver version through the Intel driver support website.

Is there any FTP site where I can access legacy or depreciated versions of Intel's display drivers?    This depreciated version is required because my Lenovo OEM laptop has known issue where the laptop won't properly come out of hibernation when using the current version of the HD Graphics 4600 driver, under Windows 8.1 64-bit.   However, installing the 5/21/2014 version DOES work, so I need to install the depreciated version.

Any help is appreciated.

reduce display size

Don't know if this has been encountered before, but my HDMI display on a 32" Toshiba is overblown past the borders. Using Intel 4600 in an I-5 cpu. Years ago a user could just draw in the border of a video display, but so far that option does not appear possible. Using latest Intel driver! Does anyone have a workaround? Frustrating as nothing can be full screen as you lose half the taskbar, etc. The other clue is that this same monitor worked perfectly with Win 8.1 and an ATI video card. Hate to reduce the video capabilities of the newer gpu. Help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Laptop won't detect my external monitor plugged with HDMI

Hello,

so I bought a brand new Lenovo Y5070 with windows 8.1/64 and use an external monitor with HDMI. Graphic cards are Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA Geforce 860M. The driver I have is 10.18.10.3540, so it is up to date am I right?
Now everytime I reboot, in order to get my external monitor to work, I have to quickly disable and enable again the driver. Even tho this takes me an average of 15 seconds to do this, life is short and I would appreciate not having to do this each time. Thanks for your help!

Hi there, i have a fangbook evo from cyberpower PC and recently reinstalled windows 7 64-bit to it. The driver disk they gave me is giving me issues, and whenever i open the VGA folder and run the intel graphics drivers install, i get a message saying "system does not meet minimum requirements to install" or something of the sort. I've tried running the intel driver update utility, but it fails to find anything- even when i do as the troubleshooting suggests. I'm not sure if i'm missing drivers, or what, but at this point, I've run of ideas for fixing it, and would appreciate any help.
My processor is a: intel(r) core(tm) i7-4810mq cpu @2.80 Ghz   2.80 Ghz

Intel HD 4600 and Outlook 2013 - white screen

$

We have a number of Dell 9020 which have the Intel HD 4600 drivers installed and we are seeing graphic rendering issues when using Outlook 2013. The rendering can be at any time - from reading an email to opening a meeting invite. What I mean by rendering is that the inbox emails and calendar all goes white and you cannot resolve. You have to closed down Outlook and reopen the app.

Many Microsoft forum's have pinpointed a graphics driver issue even though we have updated to the latest drivers already. We even disabled hardware accelaration from with Office 2013 and added a registry key to force this ut see the same issue.

Please can someone help as this is effecting us dramtically and daily. !
