Typing 23 followed by . sends the text cursor to the start (before 23), so if I were to type 23.976, it will type 97623 instead.

If this is an intended limitation (which I can't see why, since we have to input our own timings), can you add support for VESA's CVT 1.2?

Then we can use the 1000/1001 factoring they added (e.g. 24 * 1000 / 1001 = 23.976)

HD5500 Graphics and W10

Hi folks, I'm running a Toshiba satellite s50 W8.1 with i7 and HD5500 graphics video card.

Just reserved my W10 upgrade and compatibility checker is telling me W10 will have problems w the video card.

Can someone tell me if this is a driver issue, or a hardware issue.

Seems strange that a new laptop wouldn't be made ready for W10?

Thanks

Feature Request - implement EDID override

$

Hello,

it would be nice if the Intel Graphics driver would support overriding EDID information like described in this document from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487330

Why is this needed?

In a common HTPC (multimedia PC) setup with a PC, AVR (audio video receiver) and a television, the EDID information stored in the receiver & television that is passed to the PC determines the video and audio capabilities like: supported resolutions, supported audio formats etc ..

The problem is that very often the system only "sees" the EDID information of the television, and not that of the receiver, and so you don't get support for audio formats like DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD that are supported by the receiver ...

The latest Sandy bridge CPU and corresponding chipset support all these sound standards, but they often not useable cause of these EDID problems.

Actually it really does not matter what video card / integrated graphics you use, NVidia and AMD graphics have the same problem, but their drivers

allows people to override the EDID information like is described in the above linked document from Microsoft.

Please implement this stuff, shouldn't be that hard to do, for one of you senior driver programmers it's probably just a few hours of work ...

Thank you

Christian

I have registered to receive the windows 10 upgrade in July.  I have an HP pavilion 23 inch all in one with a touch screen, and Windows 8.1.  I got a message from Microsoft saying that the Intel graphics 4600 device is not fully compatible with Windows 10, and I shall experience problems with my display.........  This is disappointing.  How will this be solved?  Anybody else had this message?  Any ideas welcome.

Please Update HD 3000 Windows 8.1 Driver to Fix Blurry Text and Font Issues

$

Hi,

I'm having blurry text and font rendering problems with my HD 3000 IGP ever since I installed Windows 8.1 retail.

The blurry text and font rendering issues was not present in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 Preview, I highly suspect it's that ever since Microsoft tried to fix the blurry text and font issues in Windows 8.1 RTM/Retail from customer complaints, older hardware such as the HD 3000 IGP which do not have newer drivers from Intel are getting these issues now.

The last driver update from Intel for the HD 3000 IGP was released August 18, 2013 for Windows 8.1 Preview and before the release of Windows 8.1 RTM and Retail which now has blurry text and font rendering issues with the HD 3000 IGP.

I hope to god Intel looks into the matter and releases an updated driver to fix the blurry text and font rendering problems for the HD 3000 IGP (and any older hardware for the matter that also has this issue) on Windows 8.1 RTM/Retail and adds support for WDMM 1.3 for Intel 2nd Generation IGP on Windows 8.1.

I recently just bought a Intel 525 SSD as an upgrade to my older Intel 310 SSD for Windows 8.1 and would be very disappointed if Intel does not fix these blurry text and font rendering problems for my Intel 2nd Generation IGP on Windows 8.1, this would in result ultimately discourage me from buying Intel products in the future if the graphics problem is Windows 8.1 is not fixed.

Thanks,

Display within browser windows corrupted. GMA 4500 Windows7 64bit. Affects areas outside of browser.

With increasing usage of new browser technologies this problem first occured with the new google maps and now is gaining importance for me:

Display corruption occurs on some web pages, such as google maps and some online games. Specifically the old google maps classics was not affected, but is no longer available.

The graphics appear smeared, shuttered, patterned across increasingly large areas. Text is rendered unreadable.

The windows frame areas (outside of content area) of IE11 and Firefox 38 are affected and contain bulky blocks.

The display in neighbouring tabs within Firefox are bugged. Overlayed windows such as Graphics Properties of Windows are affected.

Turning on Aero increases the problem.

No workaround is known.

Reproducable with maps.google.com by zooming in to street levels, waving the mouse around and over the icons at the bottom right within the maps. Zoom and rezoom. Once the problem occurs, it persists for that browser and windows that overlay that browser.

The problem recoccurs after reboot, occurs in browsers even without addons, and after clearing all caches.

Tested IE11 and Firefox 38 on Windows 7 Prof 64bit English SP1 with latest patches.

Attaching two screen shots from two separate occassions merged into one file. The glitches on the windows are not due to compression or copying - they actually occur on the windows areas outside of the content area.

The problem occured with old drivers, so I updated to driver version 8.15.10.2869, but there was no noticable change. I regulary run windows without aero (is turned off).

Any ideas on the cause or possible workarounds?

Windows 10 and Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver

Yes I was going to sign up to get Windows 10 but it ran a scan and basically said "Intel HD Graphics 4000 you'll experience problems with your display" I am guessing Intel or Toshiba will not release a Windows 10 driver.  I am pretty disapointed since I only bought this computer like 8 months ago I bought Satellite C55-A5100.  Anyway around this issue or maybe I will just have to keep Windows 8.1?  If anyone has any thoughts or anything that would help that would be great.

Thanks,

Tony

I think I solve the problem that Intel HD graphics can't output HDMI or DVI signal

My new computer

CPU i5 2500 k

MB Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3

Monitor ASUS MS246H

OS Windows 7 x64

Days before, I also have the same problem that so many guys have.
I can't get the output from 2500K via the HDMI port and DVI port after install the driver,
It's fine while using the DVI or HDMI port. But when I install the driver and reboot, there is no display after the screen "Windows Starting".I go into the safe mode uninstall the driver to using the system driver, everything just go fine after reboot. And when I using the VGA port from the MB,there is no problem after install driver.I try many kinds of drivers, the HDMI and DVI port also have no display.

Now I solve the problem using the method as below:
1.prepare a vga-vga line, and connect it from MB vga port to monitor vga port
2.connect a hdmi or dvi line from mb to monitor
3.select the monitor output mode to VGA
4.power on the PC and login the system (Now it's using the vga,so there is no problem)
5.install or reinstall the driver and DO NOT restart after the job is over.
6.press WIN+P and select the duplicate mode (the second one) and press enter to confirm.
7.right click on your desktop and select "screen resolution" ,that you will see your monitor is seperated into two parts (1|2)
8.then change your monitor output mode to HDMI or DVI,Is it working now?
9.remove the vga line, and the output form hdmi or dvi is good

10.reboot the PC and everything is OK

Hope this method is useful to you, thanks.

Pentium G3220 has HD Graphic. What is HD Graphics?

$

I have an MSI H81M-E33 motherboard with a Pentium G3220 CPU running Windows 10 64bit preview (build 10130) with display via HDMI to an UHD TV - LG 55UB950T. I want to see 3840x2160 at 24 Hz resolution, but I only manage 1920x1080 60 Hz. I want to know why I cannot, and what I need to change to get a 4K display (new CPU, or new graphics adapter, or what).

I have been trying to work out what the HD Graphics in the Haswell Pentium G3220 consists of. In another post, I saw the definitions of the other Haswell graphics devices.

Quick Reference Guide for Intel® Core™ Processor Graphics | Intel® Developer Zone

There was a comment that the G3220 HD Graphics was a third generation graphics. But, when I look at the Specification of the Haswell processors (including Pentium), I could not see that.  My reading was that the Haswell Pentium processors should support 3840x2160 at 24 Hz on HDMI.

ttp://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/4th-gen-core-family-desktop-vol-1-datasheet.pdf

The Wikipedia article on HD Graphics does and the Intel ARK website specs for the G3220 do not give any real details about generations

ARK | Intel® Pentium® Processor G3220 (3M Cache, 3.00 GHz)

So, my question is, does the Pentium G3220 support 3840x2160 graphics at 24 Hz on HDMI ? If yes, any suggestions on what I should do to achieve it? If not, why is it not clearly spelled out in the documentation; and, what should I change? I bought the CPU and motherboard so I would be able to run a 4K display.

Dragon Age Inquisition not running in full screen on Optimus laptops

$

Hello,

it is a fact that since Dragon Age Inquisition has been released in 2014, nobody with an Optimus Laptop with a mix of Intel Iris HD and Nvidia xx0m graphics card has been able to play this game in full screen.

A lot of words have been spent against Electronic Arts and Nvidia, there a couple of official threads on this issue in their respective communities, but nor EA nor Nvidia have ever replied.

A first suspect that the issue could reside in the Iris drivers was coming from the fact that desktop user has an option for scaling override in the Nvidia control panel, which solve the issue, while in laptop users the option is not present, because the scaling is of Intel card responsibility.

I finally had the confirmation that the issue resides in the intel driver when I removed it from Windows and made the Intel card running with a generic Windows driver and the game was finally running full screen.

In my case the problem appears starting from Windows 8 up to Windows 10TP 10049.

I have an Iris 4600 HD card together with a GTX980m

The driver is the latest: 15.36.18.64.4156

but the issue appears with any mix of Intel and Nvidia drivers.

It looks like the problem is not present in Windows 7.

Please Intel have a look into it, as it looks that scaling issues are not new in this forum and there are other cases reported.
