So , I just upgraded to WIndows 10 Home and very 10-15 second the screen goes blank. I have an HP laptop and I am unsure if the latest driver from 2013 is compatible with this new OS. I can click on the touchpad top bring the display back but need help.

Cloned display, audio output combined into single playback device.

I have an issue that is specific to newer drivers.

When the device has its display cloned to two external displays and these displays have integrated speakers these audio playback devices are combined within windows and audio output play through them all.

The device being used is a Dell Venue 11 Pro 7139, this device has the Intel Core i5-4300Y processor, which has the Intel HD Graphics 4200 graphics. This tablet is connected to the Dell tablet dock (the same issues is present on both the original version, and new version of the dock). Connected to the dock are two displays, one connected using HDMI, and the second connected using DisplayPort. Both of these displays have speakers and can be used as audio playback devices. When the user wants to clone the tablet display to the two external displays the available audio playback devices are combined into a single option.

This problem was not present using older versions of the drivers, if you were to use 15.33.28.64.3925 this works as it should both audio playback devices are available when the displays are cloned and can be selected independently. Using newer drivers this is no longer an option.

Because this is a dell device we would normally use the drivers supplied through dell, which is what we were doing while it worked. The original dell driver that worked on these machines was 15.33.28.64.3925 the dell driver version is 10.18.14.3925, A04. The newer version is 10.18.14.4222, A05 which would be Intel version 15.36.21.64.4222 this version does not . This issue is also present using the Intel driver 15.36.18.64.4156. Drivers newer than this have not been tested.

Intel driver is completely broken (custom resolution)

I emailed Intel Customer Support Service and they refer me to this forum because the agent say it will have the correct exposure to intel engineering department. (request # 8001214860)

The problem is Intel Graphics driver for HD 4600 (and presumably others too) have a broken custom resolution for Built in LCD. No matter what setting you put into it, it will always custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

I tested it on many different laptop with eDP (embedded displayport) like Alienware 17, Asus G751JM, Asus Q551LN, Lenovo Y50-70, Razer Blade 14, MSI GT60 Dominator Pro, and Gigabyte P34 and they all say custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

To establish the fact that bandwidth is not the problem, I tried creating a custom resolution at native res (1920x1080) at 59Hz (default is 60Hz) and it says custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity. To test it further I downscale the resolution to 1600x900 @ 59Hz and it still gives the error so I conclude the problem is with the driver itself.

I tried the oldest and newest driver from the OEM and the one on Intel website and they are all broken.

The problem is NOT ISOLATED on a laptop model or a manufacturer but the Intel Graphics driver itself.

In fact if you verify the problem by testing it on ANY laptop that has an Intel graphics and try to create a custom resolution that is 1Hz less than native (like 59Hz) and it will give you the same error.

So why does it matter? Almost every single gaming laptop that is being released are NVIDIA Optimus Enabled (Hybrid Graphics where Intel Graphics is handling the display) and it prevents people from changing the refresh rate of the display. As an example the LCD panel found on Asus G751JM-BHI7T25 uses LG LP156WF4 SPL1 which is the exact same panel found on Asus G751JY that comes at 75Hz by default, but we cannot change the refresh rate due to broken Intel Custom Resolution even though the LCD panel itself is more than capable to handle it.

Refresh rate is a huge feature as evident on monitors getting released (like BenQ XL2430T, Asus ROG Swift, Acer Predator, etc...) and if you ask any gamer that has tried a high refresh rate monitor they will tell you how much big of a difference it is and because of this issue, any gaming laptop that has Hybrid graphics (Intel Graphics enabled) is a HUGE deal breaker.

How do I achieve 1440p/144fps on Intel 4600? The documentation claims it can only go up to 60fps, but I'm running 1440/120hz at the moment through displayport 1.2. I seriously doubt the extra 24 fps are impossible when apparently anything above 60 was imp

I'm running a laptop with Optimus, which apparently itself can't go over 60fps... which clearly isn't true. In order for  980M GPU to be capable of running at 144hz, the monitor needs to run at 144hz, and for that to happen, intel graphics must run at 144hz.

It runs at 144hz at 1080p, just not 1440p.

I downloaded Intel HD 4600 driver for Windows 7 32 bit from Intel Download Center. However, during installation realized that its 64 bit version & hence could not install. Did anyone face a similar Issue? Plese let me know if I need to provide more detail

According to Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems there is no support of Intel HD Graphics 3000 for Windows 10.

When the support for Windows 10 for Intel HD Graphics 3000 will arrive?

Will be the new WDDM 2.0 driver model be supported for Intel HD Graphics 3000 for Windows 10?

Not able to update 2500 driver, help?

Hi!

Hoping someone can help me with this issue. First things first. info:

processor: Intel Core i5-3470 Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.2GHz (3.6GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 77W BX80637i53470 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2500

OS: Win 10

I know there is an issue with the Intel integrated graphics drivers not always updating with Win10. Due to some crashing, I want to make sure it isn't the graphics driver for the 2500 causing my issues. However, therein lies the issue.

This is a system I built a couple of years ago, bought everything from Newegg. It worked great until about a month ago (about 3 weeks after Win10). CPU has never been overclocked or adjusted. I do have an NVidia card and drivers are up to date.

1. Tried d/l'ing the 64bit driver from Intel website, got the error message that my system doesn't meet the min requirements.

2. d/l'd the Intel driver Update Utility Software, it's not recognizing my processor. Read up on why that would be, but no changes have been made to the processor, and the manufacturer is Intel......

3. Tried tempting fate and d/l'd the 32bit version of the driver, as expected, said I didn't have the correct hardware.

Not really sure where to go from here. Hoping someone has some answers/suggestions.

Thanks!

Why can't I install Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows® 7, 8.1, & 10?

I'm trying to install the Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows® 7, 8.1, & 10 version 15.40.7.4279.

I have an Intel HD Graphics 4600 video card and an Intel Core i5-4570T processor.

I'm running Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit

I meet the minimum requirements for this driver, but when I try to install this driver it tells me that I do not meet the minimum requirements for this driver.

I currently have the 15.36.24.64.4264 version of this same driver so it should let me install the newer version.

Intel HD Graphics 4600 For Windows XP 32-bit

I have a fujitsu Esprimo P920 with an onboard Intel HD Graphics 4600.

This machine HAVE to be installed with Windows XP 32-bit, becourse I've got a microscope plugged in, that does not support anything else.

I have tried to install the gfx with everything I could find online. Not yet succeeded.

When Windows installs it, it are using the Haswell Graphics GT2, but after restart I get a resolution of 640x480 4-bit. I can't live with that.

I have tried with the GFX_XP32_6.14.10.5394.exe installer, but it just says:

This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.

I have seen this message a lot!

Anyone have a solution for this?

Custom resolution > maximum bandwidth

I have a laptop with an Intel HD 4400 and I'm trying out custom resolutions for the internal display (1920x1080). Don't know what it supports, but I'd like to find out.

The default display modes already include 60Hz and 40Hz. I want to try 48Hz and 50Hz to make movie watching smoother, but whatever I choose, I get "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.". This is obviously not true, as I'm already using 60Hz. I'm only trying modes that are between the already existing and working modes.

What to do?

Feature Request - implement EDID override

$

Hello,

it would be nice if the Intel Graphics driver would support overriding EDID information like described in this document from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487330

Why is this needed?

In a common HTPC (multimedia PC) setup with a PC, AVR (audio video receiver) and a television, the EDID information stored in the receiver & television that is passed to the PC determines the video and audio capabilities like: supported resolutions, supported audio formats etc ..

The problem is that very often the system only "sees" the EDID information of the television, and not that of the receiver, and so you don't get support for audio formats like DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD that are supported by the receiver ...

The latest Sandy bridge CPU and corresponding chipset support all these sound standards, but they often not useable cause of these EDID problems.

Actually it really does not matter what video card / integrated graphics you use, NVidia and AMD graphics have the same problem, but their drivers

allows people to override the EDID information like is described in the above linked document from Microsoft.

Please implement this stuff, shouldn't be that hard to do, for one of you senior driver programmers it's probably just a few hours of work ...

Thank you

Christian
