Dear Community,

I've been redirected here from Intel support, the case ID is 8001269420. They said "a graphics agent can pull up all your information and continue helping you with your issue." I'd be really grateful if such an agent would turn up and help, as I'm trying to solve this problem since about 2 months now. I can reproduce all the information regarding the issue here, but would prefer not to do so f it's not needed.

Thanks,

Screen auto-dimming when displaying dark backgrounds - HD 4600, Win 8.1 64bit

Hello,

I have this extremely annoying issue on my laptop: my screen automatically dims when displaying dark backgrounds. This is visible in all scenarios, and can be easily tested if I open two tabs in any Internet browser, one with a white background and one with a black background. I cannot find any way to disable it, and I am pretty sure it's an Intel driver 'feature'. The adaptive brightness setting in Windows Power management has no impact on this behavior.

I'm using the latest Intel driver at the moment (10.18.14.4264), but the behavior has been the same for the past 3 drivers.  Please help - I need a way to get rid of this, as the constant change in brightness is very disturbing.

Thank you.

Provide a detailed description of the issue

I have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I have updated video driver to different versions, but currently running 10.18.10.4276 and noticed that when I run the

laptop plugged into the dock with an external display, the displays (laptop and external) flash, and sounds like a monitor is connected and disconnected.  This occurs randomly, but at least every 20 minutes, sometimes a couple of times in 5 minute.  If I plug the monitor into the laptop (external display port) I dont seem to have this issue.

Hello everyone, I just registered and I think that this is the best place to say my problem because this is Intel's official site and I have Intel, Basically I am trying to play Minecraft, It was working when my OS was still Windows 7, Then I upgraded to Windows 10, now I tried opening Minecraft it says "Bad Video Card Drivers OpenGL" I'm using a Laptop if information is needed. Would also ask if there is a hardware acceleration driver for Intel HD 3000 because every time I download one its only for Atom based processors.

Specs

OS: Windows 10 64-bit

16 GB Rams

Intel i7-2670QM CPU @2.20Ghz

Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 1632Approx. Total Memory

Things I have tried:

- Update Video Cards through Device Managers

- Download and install through this official site (Even installed a processor)

- Trying the hardware accelerator but there is no troubleshoot button to accelerate it in my properties control panel thing

- Try compatibility mode

I don't wanna downgrade to windows 7, please Help.

Intel Display Audio and Hyper-V

A week ago I setup a new machine with a Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 motherboard and a Intel i5-4590 processor running Windows 10 Pro. I have all of the latest Intel drivers for video and the hdmi audio driver. I use the machine for a media server connected to my Samsung TV via HDMI. I had been having trouble with the Audio not working over HDMI. I had uninstalled and reinstalled the video/hdmi drivers many times with no change. I have a spare Nvidia graphics card that has HDMI audio that I tried and this card and the audio works fine. After some research and trial and error I uninstalled Hyper-V and the Intel HDMI audio worked fine after that. Are there any beta intel Display/Audio drives to try to see if they will work in Hyper-V on Windows 10? And just to confirm I had tried the latest driver from Intel as well as the motherboard manufacture. I had even tried an older Intel HDMI audio driver but that did not change the results when Hyper-V was installed.

Thank You.

Kishonti just released a new version of their cross-platform OpenGL benchmark - https://kishonti.net/news_single.jsp?id=27817230

On my Optimus rig it passes all tests in a row with GeForce GPU, but not with integrated GPU.

Note: GFXBench is picky with ALT-TAB

I'm not familiar with your GPA so i tried good old IDA (demo 6.8), offsets below are after "memory re-basing" and only for the mentioned driver version.

Description

Provide a detailed description of the issue

When the HDMI and VGA ports on the Nvidia card occupied, the VGA port connecting to the discrete Intel graphics doesn't seem to work at all (from boot and from plugging it in while the computer is on).

Does it fail every single time, or only sometimes?
If you can offer a % rate please do.

I've tried reproducing it 10-15 times and it has failed in all cases, so yes.

Hardware (HW)

Brand and Model of the system.

Dell XPS

Hybrid or switchable graphics system?
ie Does it have AMD or NV graphics too?

System has an i7-3770 and a Geforce GT 620

Make and model of any Displays that are used to see the issue (see note2 below).
LFP
= Local Flat Panel (Laptop panel)
EFP = External Flat Panel (Monitor you plug in)

All  three are 1920x1080 and EFPs. I'm pretty sure they all have a 60Hz refresh rate.

How much memory [RAM] in the system (see note2 below).

16 GB (15.9 usable)

Provide any other hardware needed to replicate the issue.
ie: Cables&brand, cable type [vga, hdmi, DP, etc], dock, dongles/adapters, etc

The various cables and monitors seem to work on a separate laptop that I have, so it doesn't seem to be some other component failing.

Hardware Stepping (see note1 below).

(Check attachment)

Software (SW)

Operating System version (see note2 below).

Windows 10 Build 10240

VBIOS (video BIOS) version. This can be found in “information page” of CUI (right click on Desktop and select “Graphics Properties”.

I am a failure and cannot find this.

Graphics Driver version; for both integrated Intel and 3rd party vendors (see note2 below).

For Intel: 10.18.10.4276

For Nvidia: 10.18.13.5850

SW or Apps version used to replicate the issue.

N/A

Configurations

Single display, clone, or extended (see note2 below).

Extended on two displays (with one main dispaly)

Display resolution & refresh rate setting of each display (see note2 below).

Same as 3rd hardware question

AC or DC mode, i.e. is power cable plugged in or not?

Cables are plugged in and the various monitors and cables work on a 2nd system

How to repro

Please provide steps to replicate the issue.  These steps are very crucial to finding the root cause and fix.
A screenshot to illustrate the issue is a huge plus. A video of the failure is even better! Attach to the post or provide the YouTube link.

  1. Get a computer with a GT 620 and a i7-3770
  2. Plug in two monitors, one through HDMI to the GT and one through VGA to the GT
  3. Plug in another monitor through HDMI to the i7

I did, accidentally, find a work around. If I unplug everything (with the computer off), and plug in only the HDMI display to the discrete graphics and turn on the computer, the other displays can be added successfully. Any other configuration (like only having a VGA connection on the discrete graphics) doesn't seem to work. Interestingly enough, attempting to come out of hibernation with the workaround results in the computer turning on, then quickly shutting off, then restarting with the one monitor on Intel graphics not working -- resulting in the initial problem manifesting again.

onboard graphics showing lines when driver installed windows 8 and Windows 10

Hi I'm having a problem with my Acer Aspire v5-431p-997B4G50Mass.

When I install any driver on Windows 8 or Windows 10 I get a blurb screen and sort of double vision and lines. Using no driver it displays fine. I have ran a memtest on my ram, reinstalled windows and tried manually downloading drivers from acer and Intel with no luck. Any ideas to what it could be? Without the driver installed it functions okay however I can't use video output. Any help would be great.

HDMI Audio loses layout on Haswell and Silent Stream Bug

$

First Problem i have: (nothing found in Web about this isue)
On Win7 Haswell HDMI audio loses layout (example - center outputs on Rear left and so on). this happens especially after refresh rate change.  Only Restarting the PC will help (tried deactivating hdmi audio, replug hdmi, ...).
I have testet this on serveral Mainboards and Processors.

The Problem excists randomly, and is difficult to reproduce.

Second problem:
the well known Silent Stream Bug (on Haswell, Sandy, Ivy). This is a no-go for mediacenter PC (ATI has fixed this isue). When will this be fixed on Intel?

When No Sound played in Windows, a Connected HDMI AMP switches to No Signal.

HDMI should permanent send Silent Audio, otherwise HDMI receivers cannot sync to signal (they dont know if there is 5.1 or 2 channel PCM audio).

Is intel aware of these issues and working on it?

4400 Still Doesn't Recognize My 3rd Monitor

$

Honestly thought by now this would be fixed, but it's the same as ever. I have a desktop with an Asus Vanguard B85 motherboard, and 3 monitors. 2 of the monitors are BenQ GW2255s on DVI and DVI to DP adapater, and 1 is just an old 19" Lenovo monitor on plain old VGA cable.

Ever since I attached the 2nd BenQ monitor the Intel driver has absolutely refused to recognize all 3 at once. The monitors all come on as Windows is starting, but then the driver loads and poof it pretends it isn't there anymore. "No Signal Detected". Now for Windows 8.1 this was less of a problem, because if I disabled the driver and then re-enabled it the 3rd monitor would be recognized and I'd be all set until the next time I restart the computer. Not ideal but workable.

However with Windows 10 it's pure crap. Not only does disabling/enabling the driver no longer work, but when I try it the Lenovo monitor starts flashing base colors and I have to manually power off the computer to get it back. I've tried upgrading to Windows 10 3 times now and every time I have to downgrade immediately back to 8.1 just to be able to use the computer properly.

Braswell N3000/3150/3700 HD Audio Passthrough

Just another bump / request for HD Audio (Dolby TrueHD, etc) passthrough to be enabled in drivers.  According to this thread:

N3150/N3700 HD Audio Passthrough

... the processors were designed with HD Audio passthrough in mind, but this feature needs to be enabled in the drivers.  Hopefully this can be elevated to the right folks, and it's not a huge issue to implement.  Many people use the N3000 / 3150 / 3700 for HTPCs (myself included), and this would be a huge feature to have.   Thanks for any assistance!

Official Black-screen thread - We need your help!

Hello Graphics Communities!

For a very long time now we've been trying to track down, diagnose, and correct an issue that seems to be happening all across the board with Intel® Graphics.  Users, for various reasons - seem to have issues with OEM systems (and Intel® NUC's) losing their display for different events.

  • Installing new drivers
  • Rebooting
  • Computers idling, going into sleep or hibernation
  • Other random events

We have run into a stumbling block in fixing this issue, and that is that we are unable to reproduce the symptoms above.  We have ordered exact-matching systems, displays and cables - and matched our configurations to those of the users having problems, and we are completely unable to reproduce the problem.  The issue is complex, but in this particular case - it stems from the fact that two users with the same configuration are not guaranteed to have the problem, it varies from user to user, system to system, display to display.

What we at Intel® are asking now though is 2-fold.  If you are one of these users (or a business) experiencing a consistent black-screening issue as mentioned above, we would like to procure your COMPLETE system configuration.  This means, we want you to ship us (at our expense) - the System (desktop or laptop), display (TV, monitor) AND the cable (hdmi, dp, dvi, vga) used by your system when it starts to have a blackscreen failure.  If you are willing to do this, you should be aware that we will keep your system for an extended period, and will compensate you by replacing your setup.

NOW!  Even if you are not willing to send us your system, and would just like to inform us that you have a black-screen issue.  That is okay too. Even if you have already submitted this info in some of our other black-screen threads, feel free to submit it here too.  Please submit the following information into this thread so that we can continue to document all possible instances of it.  Just copy and paste the below list and put in relevant information (completely!).  *NOTE* If you have not already done so, please update your BIOS and Display Driver to the latest version available.  We cannot accept a report of a failing configuration that is not up to date.  Additionally, if you are running your display through a 3rd party device such as a projector or an AV/R (receiver), you need to show that the problem still occurs without the extra device connected (a direct connection from system to display is required).

Are you willing to send your system to us? (Yes/No)
Is your system a laptop or desktop?
If desktop, is it custom built, or manufactured?
If desktop, what is the make/model of your motherboard?
What is the make/model of your system? (COMPLETE model name required)
What is the model of your CPU?
What is the make/model of your failing display(s)?
If laptop, is your built-in display failing? (Yes/No)
What is your operating system?
Is it a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system?
What display driver version do you have installed?
What type of connection are you using? (HDMI, VGA, DP, DVI?)
What happens that results in the blackscreen failure?

Any/all information is valuable.

Thank you for your information & cooperation!

Cannot find Intel HD Graphics version

Hi guys I have been trying to increase my FPS in this game i want to play and the first thing i thought about is to check if my drivers are up to date. My current driver for my graphics card are from 2013 and i want to find out if there is ones from 2014 for my chipset but strangely enough when i open device manager, then the graphics tab, it doesn't say what version my Intel HD chipset is, like it should say Intel HD 2000 or 4000 or whatever so i know which drivers to look for.

http://imgur.com/ajnck83

here is a picture of what details i get about my Graphics card on my device manager. Basically the only clue i have i the current driver version but i still can't figure out how to find out if there is a new one. I have tried the Driver Auto Detect software on Intel website but it i remember it didn't work, it just said that it can't find drivers for some reason, but it definitely didn't say that  i am up to date with my current drivers.

Can anyone help me to find if there is NEW drives for my HD grapics based on the driver version on the picture?

Disabled Scaling for Intel Computa Stick

Screen scaling In Intel HD Graphics Control Panel is not working.

It means that there is no option to scale down the desktop image in full HD rez 1080p to fit in 50+" TV.

Strangely the same desktop fits much better (whilst still not ideally) for 42" TV.

Very genuine driver issue.

I'm guessing that it is not a big news for Intel engineers, but the problem should be addressed ASAP as this deficiency compromises the main selling point for the huge "Wintel mini-PC for Lounge Room " market segment

display driver stopped responding and has recovered error

$

I bought a new star wars special edition computer on the 5th of November and immediately had this error start popping up on the screen from the right just above the time area the first day I got it. It came with a free service of free lifetime tech support, so I started calling them. I called them like 6 times and they told me it could be several things, first it was a pop ups, it wasn't, then it was outdated drivers, it wasn't, then told me they couldn't fix it, that I had to call HP because that's who made the computer. So I called HP, they told me they could fix it and tried whatever, then said that it would fix itself IF I restored the computer to factory specs, so I did that, and it did NOT work. They told me they would send a tech out to repair it IF it did not, and then when they called the next day to check in on it they told me they didn't have the parts to send a tech for that specific part, so they lied to me. It's a brand new computer, yet they originally told me well you don't have an in home warranty ?? So I said so what would you have said if I DID have an in home warranty? Oh I'm sorry we don't have the part we can't send a tech? I don't believe you don't have the parts for that part but they told me they have the parts for everything else for it but that. So I reordered another computer from QVC, and prepared the other computer to send back. I JUST got the 2nd computer on the 25th of November, yestereday about noon. I've been working on that computer and adding things to it and updating it all day and getting it ready and then just less than 20 minutes ago the same damn message just appeared on THIS one. There is NO WAY that both of these computers have bad display units, there has to be something else simple that everyone else is missing that is causing this message to keep appearing.  I took a picture of the message at one point when it happened on the 1st computer, it comes up and will cause a black screen then I have to click on it or opposite click on my wireless mouse to get the black screen to clear before the black screen will go away. What is causing this????  Someone please help me??
