Graphics corruption in Fallout 4 since 1.3 patch

$

0

Since Fallout 4's 1.3(.47) patch, I (and many, many others) have been experiencing texture issues that make the game unplayable. I have an Iris 5100, but the problem seems to be universal across all Intel GPUs, regardless of hardware.

XztZJmb.jpg

More images are in this gallery here. Basically, the textures stretch and warp, almost always obscuring your view and looking like a mess. It's interesting to note that this does not happen to player/character models, although it's difficult to discern what these textures originally were to begin with. Updating to the latest beta driver does not fix it (although I'd never seen the bright red texture glitch in the gallery before it, so... there's that).

I originally believed this to be a problem combining Apple hardware (I'm using a late-2013 rMBP) with the Intel GPU, which is not officially supported by Bethesda (the game's publisher), but since then I've encountered many people across the internet on other hardware who are encountering the same issue. In fact, there seems to be something about the 1.3 update that screwed up textures for a lot of people with integrated graphics, including those with AMD.

Someone will probably inevitably say that Apple has requested that all issues with their products should be directed through their support, but quite frankly, this doesn't seem like an Apple problem (and the Apple person I talked to agreed with me, saying they can only work to apply fixes within OS X). The game was made by Bethesda, runs solely in a Windows environment, and the common denominator seems to be the Intel GPU. Bethesda is aware of the problem, but are under no obligation to support users of hardware they never offered support to. While I don't know much about driver programming, I feel like this is an issue that will most likely be solved by you at Intel if it is solved at all. You also are under no obligation to solve the problem, and if you can't, no hard feelings (really). This GPU has felt like "the little graphics card that could", given the amount I've put it through, and this is the first game I've encountered that is entirely unplayable because of it.

I unknowingly solved the crashing problems already known by installing ENBoost, a utility that is known to boost performance -- for some reason it completely stops the crashing other Intel users have been experiencing. The game runs just fine on versions 1.1 (release) and 1.2, and I'm continuing to play the game thanks to downgrade patches, but any future content will be unavailable unless the issue is fixed.

I've attached the Intel SSU diagnostics, DxDiag, and DispDiag for reference, but a summary of my system specs is as follows: Macbook Pro Retina, Late-2013, Intel Core i5-4258U CPU @ 2.40GHz, Intel Iris Graphics 5100, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro, graphics driver version 20.19.15.4380 (which I think is the beta driver? don't know what else it would be, since I turned auto-updates off and haven't installed another since). I was previously on the last stable release, which I found to run significantly better than the Apple-provided one that installs during Boot Camp.

Sorry for the info dump, I'm just really interested in helping to figure out a solution if possible. I know this has been posted about a few times as well, hope this isn't a problem as I didn't want to hijack any more threads. If there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know -- I'm hoping I'll be able to get some users not on Apple hardware to post their information as well. Thank you in advance!

Hi everybody, first, sorry for my bad english!

I've an Acer Aspire ES1-512-C08J with Intel(R) HD Graphics integrated.. why i can't set a custom resolution on the Intel Control Panel?

That option isn't there.

I've tried to run "CustomModeApp.exe" but it didn't work, nothing happened.. there is another file named "CustomModeAppv2_0.exe", it is normal?

I've tried also with this.. it run, but ask me the installation of Net Framework 3.0, I clicked next, but , then, the system crash and didn't work anything.

How can I do to set a custom resolution on my notebook?

PS: I've the latest version of Intel Graphics driver --> 10.18.10.4358

Thank you, hope anyone can help me!

Using Intel NUC 615SYH. On start up sound will not work.Restart and wireless connection only finds 2.4ghz connection. Restart again and sound works and wireless connection connects to 5ghz.

What I have done. Updated to latest bios.No change. Updated all drivers for wireless and latest graphics driver(which contains the sound drivers) Still no good.

NUC is connected to a IIyama 27 inch monitor by a mini display port to display port cable.

Contacted Intel support and was advised to do a clean install of WIndows 10. I have done this. Still the same.  Has anyone any ideas on this. I personally think the graphics/sound drivers have a bug.

Hi everybody.

I own a 3770 chip.

I am planning to upgrade my Intel drivers, but I wonder if the Intel® Graphics Driver and the Intel Display/HDMI Audio Driver are different pieces of software ?

I would need to reinstall solely the audio part, if possible. Otherwise, I would reinstall both, of course.

Intel HD 530 tearing problem

$

Hello

I have i5 6400T CPU with an integrated Intel HD 530. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 operating system with latest graphic drivers, version 20.19.15.4352. There is a very noticeable tearing when playing video online, in the browser, e.g. on YouTube. ( tearing test @29.97 fps (1080p) - YouTube )

If I set Vertical synchronization (VSync) in graphic drivers option to "On", it has no effect.

I found out that if you use Aero in Windows, there will be no tearing, because it will enable "Desktop Window Manager" which utilize methods to prevent it. I can remove tearing in media player with its own VSync, but obviously no such option exist in an internet browser.

I find this very limiting, as I do not want to be forced into using Aero. On my previous system I had the same non-Aero theme with an integrated AMD GPU and there was no tearing, so it would seem it is a driver issue.

Is it possible this will be fixed in the next driver update?

Thank you.

so things worked fine before i went to windows 10, now when i launch fallout 4, total war rome 2, or total war shogun 2 i get 'application has been blocked from accessing graphics card'. befre i get this error i had one where graphics would crash than recover, which i fixed by going into reg edit and changing some values. From what i can tell is the only fix is to wait for new graphics driver or upgrade you hardware (which is expensive) and i see a lot of other people having this problem too yet i cant find a fix that works. how do i fix this

Intel HD Graphics 530 driver causing screen flickering

$

Dear Intel Support Team,

I have recently purchased a new laptop, a custom built X BOOK.

The laptop is fitted with an Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad-core and a  GeForce GTX 960M 2GB.

The graphics adapter is an Intel® HD Graphics 530.

The operating system is a Windows 10 Pro 64 bits.

I have a flickering screen problem that is very annoying, the screen keeps flashing on and off, even sometimes showing thin green horizontal lines and this doesn't

go away with a restart or a shutdown.

I disabled the adapter and everything worked fine.

I have the latest version of the driver for the 64 bit CPU architecture.

One thing worth mentioning, is that I didn't have the problem until I installed Visual Studio 2015 !!

I reset my operating system and everything was fine until I installed Visual Studio 2015 again.

Kindest Regards,

Ibrahim Najjar

Ghosts on Intel HD graphics 4600

Hi,

I am new, actually I made this account just to report this issue since I did not find it anywhere else described.

I don't know if the title is accurate, but I don't really know technically how to describe the problem.

So, the point is that randomly quite often when I move my cursor in texts or windows from explorer I got some ghosts which remain still for a few seconds and then disappear. Sometimes they disappear immediately after I finish pushing the arrow button, sometimes they still persist a few more seconds. I am sorry it is not easy to explain the issue, but I think the pictures below will give you a much better description.

DSC_2273.jpg

DSC_2275.jpgDSC_2272.jpg

If you look carefully on all three images you will see that they have some "ghost" lines. I made these by moving my cursor using the arrow keys.

I made the pictures by a camera, because the print screen does not capture these ghosts.

I don't know for sure if this is related to the graphics card itself but I don't know any other part which could make this problem appear.

I attached the rest of the files for diagnostic as well.

If anyone has other suggestions, I am open to listen to them. It is not a critical problem but sometimes is really annoying. I don't think it is related just to a specific software, since the screenshots were made from Firefox, Explorer, and putty.

New HD 530 driver fixed the "stopped working"-bug, but introduced rectangular glitches.

Description

Provide a detailed description of the issue

See the attached screen shots. Rectangular glitches appear on screen randomly. Most often when switching/alt-tabbing to a new window. Also sometimes when filling text fields or right clicking to pop up the menu in some applications. Very rarely for no apparent reason (autosaving?). The glitches disappear when painting over them with the mouse or reloading the page.

The problem started after installing HD Graphics 530 driver 20.19.15.4380. Using earlier drivers, every driver/BIOS combination had the infamous "dark screen, freeze, stopped working/recovered" -bug, which I was unable to fix. Finally, .4380 fixed this, but introduced these glitches. Asus graphics drivers seem to be just older versions of the generic drivers.

Does it fail every single time, or only sometimes?
If you can offer a % rate please do.

Only sometimes, randomly, but over a hundred times per day? I feel like they go in waves, so for a while I get it constantly, then for some time very rarely. They appear more often when switching to/from a webpage in Firefox or application to another, and very rarely when staying in one application or playing a game.

Intel HD Graphics 1st gen Drivers - Windows 10 TUTORIAL (100% WORKING)

$

Hey guys,

Looking for weeks on how to install Intel HD Graphics drivers (1st gen) on Windows 10, I found a way to do this, it's working nicely for me, and I'm sure it will work for you too.

Just follow these steps:

PART 1:

1 - Download your driver file (.zip) for Windows 7;

2 - On the folder, look for another folder, named "Graphics";

3 - Open the file "kit51428.inf" (I don't know, but on recent drivers it looks like the name of this file has changed, but there's only one ".inf" file inside this folder);

4 - Copy everything under [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.0] (or equivalent for 32-bit) and paste it under [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.2];

5 - Save the file.

PART 2:

6 - Before you run the Setup, you have to restart the system on a different way, like it's made on this video, to make possible to install unsigned drivers on your Windows;

7 - Now, you can run the Setup inside Intel Driver's folder;

8 - The system will probably ask you if you want to install unsigned drivers, just click OK;

9 - After the install, you will have all the features you had on Windows 7;

ENJOY!

Sorry for the terrible English guys, despite this, the tutorial is accurate.

UPDATE!!! Windows 10 will eventually try to remove your driver (OF COURSE, IT'S "UNSIGNED" RIGHT?) and restore to Microsoft's one... To avoid this, Microsoft released a tool, here's the link, just follow the instructions and disable Microsoft's driver update on it... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 That's it... Now you can play your games, use your HDMI, watch videos with a better quality etc.

Intel HD graphics control panel not recognizing second monitor

$

Hi all,

I have a laptop (8g ram, iGPU intel HD graphics 5500, dedicated GPU GTX 860M GPU, i7-5500 @ 2.4 GHz w/ 1920x1080 resolution) running windows 10 which I occasionally attach to a second monitor (2560x1440) via an Alienware amplifier (GPU is GTX 960 4gig version) via display port. Attached is an image with more details regarding intel HD graphics.

Using laptop on own - no problems

Attaching second monitor but leaving laptop open - no problems

Attaching second monitor but closing laptop screen - problem

The problem is that things become very choppy on the second monitor. The only situation where second monitor is not choppy is with laptop screen not closed, and display settings in "extended display". If I put it in "second screen only" or close the laptop screen it becomes choppy. By "choppy" I mean EVERYTHING is choppy. Just scrolling on a webpage becomes noticeably difficult. This is a new problem, I've used this setup for about a year without issues, although I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and since then it has been like this.

On trying to troubleshoot, I tried to open the Intel HD graphics control panel and realized I could only open it if the monitors were connected in extended display. Once I changed it to second screen only, I was unable to open it. When I open it in extended display, it only recognized one display which is the "built-in" display at 1920x1080 (i.e. my laptop screen). Windows does recognize I have 2 screens and so does the NVIDIA control panel. I have updated virtually every driver possible, including the NVIDIA GPU, the second screen monitor and Windows 10 updates. I updated the intel HD graphics driver first with intel driver update utility but this didn't help, and then secondly via device manager where it actually seemed to fix things in that I was able to use second screen only without lag, but after restarting the laptop the problem came back. I tried to update the drivers again but it says they are up to date. When I look up the adapters for the second monitor using dxdiag, in extended display it shows BOTH intel HD graphics and GTX 960. In second screen only, it shows ONLY GTX 960.

I would appreciate any help in this. Thanks in advance.
