Recently, my Windows Photo viewer often stops working when I'm using it (actually when I click the next button to view next photo). The error report shows that it is caused by igdumd64.dll

Fault module version is 8.15, which is my previous vga driver (Intel HD 4000). Now I'm using 10.18. I updated this driver from 8.15 to 10.18 and didn't remove 8.15 before updating. I wonder why it still exists

How should I do to fix it ? I have tried many things to fix with COM SURRAGATE, nothing works, maybe it's not the root cause, but the dll file is

Thank you in advance!

32 bit driver labeled as 64 bit

I have an intel Celeron N3050 processor that needs updating yes I know its outdated and probably unsupported but my manufacturers website has an older version of the processor so I came to the driver download page on intel and found to driver to force install it by means of have disk on device manager but when I try to update the "64bit" driver it says  "The folder specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for x64 based systems." now the download says it's a 64bit driver and the folder says it is too but when I open the .inf file its clearly a 32 bit file. this need to be fixed immediately or atleast I need a link to the proper driver for my graphics card. I'm stuck on outdated software and can't update because of this. please help.

help please!!! i accidently deleted my intel graphics hd 3000 driver and i cant reinstall it

i3-4130T underscan problems continue unaddressed by intel

I've had this issue for a couple years now and still no fix from intel. I've tried various drivers including the latest and while they've added more settings they don't appear to function properly.

Similar to many other users (some posted in this forum previously), my desktop expands beyond the margins of my display. I have a Sony TV at 1080i over HDMI. The same problem exists at 720p however the HD Graphics center allows one to refine under/overscan at that resolution. As soon as one tries to go to 1080 those options disappear and the added options of different scaling have absolutely no effect. I've gone through so many posts with recommendations (often links now dead) with no solutions. I've never had these issues with AMD or NVIDIA who's settings work to overcome variant hardware issues. This is an older mainstream SONY BRAVIA 42" flat panel TV which works with other computers, set top boxes, and anything else I throw at it.

A previous fix recommended by someone (not intel) was to set the scan at the 720 resolution and subsequently the change to 1080 would respect the scan limits however that's no longer the case with the latest drivers. I've been ok for over a year I believe until windows apparently forced some setting and now no matter what I try I can't get the 1080 resolution to stay on the screen. The other TV's mentioned were Samsungs but some people had success with TV settings. The only setting in this TV sets it the other way on 2 levels to combat overscan.

I could echo the complaints of those before me but I'll just add my discontent. WHY can't Intel fix this bug? It seems as simple as allowing under/overscan settings to work at the 1080 settings but I'm no engineer.

No "Gamma" Setting in v15.45.12.4552

I just updated my motherboard, just as I do almost every year. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see that after installing the Intel Graphics Driver v15.45.12.4552 that there is no "Gamma" setting the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. The version I was running on my old motherboard had this option in the "Display > Color Settings".

It's not as if the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel has changed much over the years. I really don't understand how something so basic is already included. Is this something that is gonna be added in a future version or is there another way to access this option? Perhaps maybe a hidden menu activated by a keyboard shortcut?

Hello,

Hope this is the right place.

wanted to inform about a critical issue with your driver for windows 10.

I have lenovo laptop (yoga 710), after installing the latest driver (from 11/11/16) windows won't load (display became black).

only after executing a role back to the driver (using safe mode), windows return to load again.

it happened few times, until I disabled the auto update to the driver and keep using the old driver.

I am currently using the old driver, but it also has problems of compatibility with microsoft office !!

I needed to disable the driver completely in order to run office in windows 10!

please, fix these problems..

it's a major critical bug!

thanks

I have a Toshiba laptop with Intel HD 5500 graphics.  I keep getting an error when trying to play the game Warzone 2100.  I am unsure how to update the drivers.  I opened the HD Graphics 5500 Properties dialog and tried to update the driver and it said the latest driver is installed by allowing Windows to check for it.

It causes this error in the game log:

igfxem module denies access to my folders

$

Attached is the status of the drivers for my Intel HD Graphic 530, all up to date using Intel Driver Update Utility 2.6. Plus, a Speccy text of my laptop.

So this started happening recently, even after reinstalling Windows 10.

Screenshot (59).png

I am logged in as the administrator, and I couldn't even delete it even when logged into elevated administrator account. Tried Command Prompt "takeown" and changed owner ship of the folder to no avail.

Guess what, igfxEM is handling this folder. To be clear, this is a folder for a Steam game installed outside of C:\ to evade UAC while playing. Yet, igfxEM is somehow handling almost ALL of the folders in this D:\ drive.

Screenshot (77).png

And when I ended the process tree...

Screenshot (78).png

The folder just DISAPPEARED, and then I could rename, copy, move, any folders in the D:\ drive (not all folders in D:\ are handled by the module, but a vast majority is).

My questions are:

-How can I fix this? This hadn't happened before during the entire year I own this laptop, until I used CCleaner to "clean" my registry. REGRET.

-And is it important? Can I just remove it?

Thanks for reading and appreciate any help.

Intel HD Graphics 4000 flickering on Windows 10 when driver installed.

So turned my computer on and the screen is flickering, there has been no updates to my knowledge to cause this, especially driver updates to the graphics card. I've uninstalled the graphics card and it is normal,  but everything is big (as to be expected) im on a Samsung Ativ Tab 7. And there is another operating system installed that is android and it has no problems at all. I can't find a solution i have completely re installed windows and removed the android partition but still nothing. I have used both the Samsung verision of the driver and the generic Intel but no luck.

Any help, would be much apreciated

thanks

How can I use Deep Colour (10/12bpc = 30/36-bit color depth)?

$
0
0

First, education time, because most people still really don't get it.

1. Explanation of color depths

High Color (5/6-bit colour channels x RGB = 15 or 16-bit colour depth)
32,768 colours (15-bit depth) or 65,536 colours (16-bit colour depth)

  • Go back 15 years or so, and you might remember this as an option in Windows XP's display settings panel.
  • Nobody needs these modes any more

True Color (8-bit colour channels x RGB = 24-bit color depth). 32-bit colour is actually 24-bit colour with transparency)
8 bits of information per colour channel (24-bit color depth) =16.7 million colours.

  • Almost all computer displays and all current smartphone displays are 8-bit per channel.
  • Has been the standard for many years.
  • Each pixel's three colour channels (red, green, and blue) have 256 levels of gradation.
  • Often results in unsightly 'banding', particularly noticeable in gradients. Certain tricks have to be employed to avoid these colour problems.
  • Many video sources are 8-bit per RGB color channel

Deep Color (10/12/16-bit colour channels x RGB = 30/36/48-bit color depth)
10 bits of information per colour channel (30-bit color depth) = 1.08 billion colours.
12 bits of information per colour channel (36-bit color depth) = 68.71 billion colours.16 bits of information per colour channel (36-bit color depth) = 281.5 trillion colours.

  • Many modern monitors and almost all modern TVs are actually able to handle 10-bit
  • 10-bit is used in video formats (see Bluray or HEVC Main10)
  • Deep colour's higher colour count eliminates 'banding' and various other visual artifacts
  • 12-bit color is required for the HDMI definition of 'Deep Color'
  • In 10-bit colour, each pixel's three colour channels (red, green, and blue) have 1024 levels of gradation.

2. The problem I am facing

  1. How can I enable 10/12-bit color in linux? I am already running latest drivers on arch linux.
  2. What about OSX or Windows?
  3. Whoa, hang on, what the fu.. have I just found a PDF where you guys actually say there is NO OPTION despite full hardware/software support because there is 'no content'? What? I can't enable more accurate colour even though everything works, because Bluray 4K isn't out yet? Are you £$%ing serious?

    Page 10 >http://www.intel.co.uk/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/white-papers/deep-color-support-graphics-paper.pdf

This document details the _full support_ of deep colour, but that UI options don't exist - so how do I enable this in linux (of which intel drivers lack UI anyway)?

FFS Intel. The drivers situation is appalling.

    1. The driver versions ******** is still plaguing millions of machines

    2. Haven't implemented 'custom' resolutions/refresh rates in Windows. After 5 god forsaken years.

    3. And now, advertising features that should be supported BUT ARE DISABLED?

My stuff:

  • 10-bit yamakasi IPS 1440p monitor, 3x panasonic TVs supporting 30/36-bit colour (tested with bluray player test modes)
  • Intel i7 3667U laptop (DP)
  • Intel i7 4710MQ laptop (HDMI)
  • Intel i7 6560U laptop (DP)
  • Intel Celeron 3150N (HDMI or DP)
  • Windows 10
  • OSX (3667u)
  • Arch Linux (Celeron 3150N)

Heyho,

I got some serious problems with the Intel graphics drivers on Windows 10x64, first i used the one provided from lastest Windows Updates.
The game crashs with the error I attached.

My processor is i7-7500 (Kaby Lake) with integrated Intel HD 630 Graphics (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5912).

Today I also tried uninstalling, reinstalling, using windows build in drivers and also uninstalling and using latest Windows Update drivers and also uninstalling trying
newest Beta drivers with the installation workaround described here in the intel community as the official gen7-processor graphics drivers (neither stable nor beta)
sadly does not install for the 630 at the moment (installation seems to be missing an entry in inf).

Game is Might & Magic X Legacy running from UPlay.

[Quotes from file attached - See file attachment for further details]
It mentions "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\igdlh64.inf_amd64_f804a7ddaa7ea684\igc32.dll"

related to module: igc32.dll, Version: 21.20.16.4565, Time Code: 0x584c5967

Error code: 0xc0000005

Does any of you guys have a solution for this type of crashing?
Also Tried alternating graphic settings and ingame settings, running in compatibility mode&with admin rights also just in case.

Thank you for your time! Hope we get that error fixed

Coil Whine in Asus Laptop from intel HD graphics 530

$

Hello to everyone!

This is my first topic on this forum, and I expect you can help me with this annoying problem that has been disturbing me for some days.

Recently, I bought an ASUS R510V laptop with freeDOS as OS, 8 GB RAM, intel i7 6700HQ, GTX 950M as dedicated GPU, and intel HD graphics 530 as integrated GPU.

About 2 weeks after installing Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14 I realized that, sometimes, a high-pitched noise came from inside the laptop (hear the noise). Surfing the internet I came to the conclusion that is coil whine, and I think its origin is the intel integrated graphics. First of all, this noise is produced only while using windows (not in ubuntu, where I can only use GTX 950M GPU), specially in the screen that appears when an application needs special permissions, or in applications like Google Chrome. I have updated my Intel drivers too.

But the most strange thing I have discovered recently is: this noise does not show up while the Intel Driver Update Utility or the Intel Graphics HD control panel are running in foreground.

Do you have any idea why is this happening? Any suggestion to solve this problem apart from having Intel Driver Update Utility or the Intel Graphics HD control panel running?

Thank you so much anyway and sorry for my English!

Please advise.

I'm getting 100% CPU usage with 4k 60 fps content on youtube. Surprising as the kabylake GPUs support VP9 decoding/encoding. Is this a driver issue as in the CPU is not yet supported.

How to repro

Please provide steps to replicate the issue.  These steps are very crucial to finding the root cause and fix.
A screenshot to illustrate the issue is a huge plus. A video of the failure is even better! Attach to the post or provide the YouTube link.

  1. download pre-compiled demo from Releases · bulletphysics/bullet3 · GitHub , unpack, start bin/App_BulletExampleBrowser_vs2010.exe
  2. on Optimus rigs check in log window that Intel renderer is active
  3. select "3000 boxes"
  4. select "raycast", wait a few seconds until crash described above
  5. NB: Intel forgot (?) to commit latest OpenGL fixes since v4463 to BDW branch, so you might get different results on SKL and beyond.
No crash happens when GeForce renderer is active
