Intel Iris 540 - "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

$

When trying to play H1Z1 (other games seem to be working ok) I have been getting "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered." error.

This started immediately after a driver update.  If I load older drivers the issue seems to be corrected by I would like to get the issue resolved in the new drivers.

I am willing to try anything to assist with diagnosing and resolving this issue.

Per H1Z1 support this issue is caused by overclocking of the hardware but I am running 2016 MacBook Pro with no overclocking.  It's not a cooling issue as the error occurs immediately after launching the game (less than 30 seconds after booting the machine and it's cool to the touch)

Last known good driver was 5/22/2017 through Windows Update if I recall.

I messed with TdrDelay and associated registry settings for the timeout detection mechanism with no luck.  Instead of "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

You end up with "Application H1Z1.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware."

Intel HD - Office 2016 - 4K Resolution

Hi, I've been troubleshooting a problem for the past 6 months with Office 2016 and running a 4K resolution.

I have narrowed down to a combination of whats in the title. We recently upgraded a few machines to 4K Screens and started getting problems within Outlook and Excel 2016.

When maximized, Outlook/Excel wouldnt always refresh properly, and leave white boxes on the screen. Sometimes you can just put the program into a window, then re-maximize and it would sort itself out. Other times you need to close/open the program.

Either way, it would happen at least once an hour. But only with 4K screens. The problem was that irritating that I have had to roll back to HD resolution monitors.

We had 4 machines with 4K screens, and all of them would have this problem. They were all various Dell Optiplex models with Intel display adapters.

I tried upgrading one of them to an Nvidia Quadro P400, and the problem went away. So I'm thinking its a problem with combination of Intel HD vid, Office 2016 and 4k resolution.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Intel HD Graphics 620 driver problem with Hyper-V enabled

Hello,

I am having problems with the Lenovo ThinkPad x270 with Intel HD Graphics 620 and a 1920x1080 IPS non-touch display.  I posted the following over at the Lenovo forums thinking I had defective units:

Jumping and flickering display on ThinkPad X270 - Lenovo Community

That post has links to videos I took of the displays exhibiting the problem.

After some additional diagnostics, I discovered that the problem is only apparent with Hyper-V enabled.  The problem occurs with both the driver version supplied directly by Lenovo, 21.20.16.4550, and the version of the driver that gets installed when doing "Update driver" from the Windows device manager, 21.20.16.4590.

For the time being, I have disabled Hyper-V but I really do need to have it.  Please let me know what other information I can provide that might help resolve this issue.

Thank you...

Intel (R) HD Graphics (core i5)- PLEASE HELP!!!

I recently updated my system to Windows 10. I only had one monitor hooked up which was working fine, then I decided I wanted to add an additional monitor. The original monitor does not work anymore, but the monitor I hooked up recently which would have been my secondary monitor is now my primary monitor and the original monitor is off (power is on but nothing displays on the screen).  I have updated the drivers and uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them as well. I can't get the system to detect two monitors. I have Intel HD Graphics displaying in my device manager. Please help me with this issue. Please see screen shots below Thanks!

Intel HD 620 artifacts on laptop screen

Hi,

I have a quite new (3m) ASUS Zenbook UX410uqk laptop (i7-7500U) with Intel HD and nVidia GeForce 940MX.

About a week ago, I switched my laptop power options from 'Balanced' to 'High Performance' for better performance in Android Studio, but the same day later I switched it back to 'Balanced'. Since then, the PC turned slow and even a simply 2D games (e.g. FTL - Faster Than Light) worked as an old Celeron (~10-15 fps). At the same time, nVidia card was working fine (e.g. Civilization VI worked perfectly).

For 2 days now, an additional feature appeared: https://youtu.be/euc5Sqck5po - there are some artifacts on screen, while working with Intel HD. They are both present on internal and external monitor, so the laptop screen is not the cause.

I have already tried:

  • re-installing latest vendor drivers from ASUS website - no effect
  • installing clean Intel drivers (15.45) - as above
  • reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch (clean install) - no changes

I can get rid of that by uninstalling ANY\ALL Intel drivers from Windows and switching to something like "Windows Basic Display Driver" (Microsoft Basic Display Adapter) - for a price - screen resolution is low and no option to enable nVidia driver then. Any driver (even Microsoft Generic for Intel HD) and changing resolution to higher than minimum, cause the artifacts to appear.

I have tested the CPU with Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, but no issues found.

All the drivers mentioned above were working perfectly fine a week ago, so I do not find it as a "driver" issue.

My question is: is there a way to test and verify what is the nature of the problem? Any test tool?

I have already called ASUS reseller, but they say it is probably a driver problem, so no assistance to be provided.

Thank you in advance for any hints

Hi,

we reinstaled a laptop with this graphics cards and we have a lot of issues on that. When you close or just minimize some aplication on Windows 10 the wallpaper lose some parts (black), the icons receive "black square" behind it.

Today we are running the driver version 8.15.10.2900. Using the Intel Graphics tool from taskbar, we set the 'Performance'  at maximum on '3D' option also.

Any help is appreciated.

Video Stutter- Choppy Playback Issue HP LAPTOP

$

There's a serious issue with my laptop which I have been trying to solve from last 6 months! Despite of the decent specs, video playback suffers stuttering in every media player, for ref. I have tried Windows Media Player, VLC, MP4-HC, Films&TV, KMPlayer. The noticeable point is that KMPlayer alone till this time was playing all videos smoothly but its recent update is also witnessing the same problem. I am not sure but maybe KMP was using NVIDIA GPU to decode.I have read hundreds of threads and discussions, I have set Windows power option in PERFORMANCE mode, Intel HD Graphics in PERFORMANCE mode, tried almost 10 different Intel HD Graphics Drivers, have tried every possible way out but it’s all in vain. My laptop is facing this right from the day I purchased it, now it’s going to be a year trying to resolve this issue. I even installed KLIte Codec Pack but could not help myself. Explaining how the video stutters, it stops momentarily for 0.5-1 sec along with the audio at random places in a normal 720p or 1080p video. This happens for 5-10 times in a normal 5 Min video which believe me, is very annoying. (I normally use .mp4 format vids). Mine research in all these days lead me to terms like 'motion judder' (My display has only 2 freq. settings 40hz/60hz. Another possible reason maybe that my INTEL 5500 graphics card supports only up to DirectX 11.1, but runtime version is 12, coz I have a 5th gen processor. My friends' laptops have a 6th gen processor and so, they don't have this issue. But I can't be too sure as they have 720p display compared to my 1080p display which can be a cause too.  I need urgent aid regarding this issue, I don't even know whether I should contact MICROSOFT, or INTEL or HP! I am taking simultaneous helps now though. Laptop Specs- COREi5 5200u , 4GB Ram, NVIDIA 940m 2GB, 1Tb 5400RPM HDD, WIN 10 x64@, 1080p,60hz. Please see to the issue asap and oblige me. And Believe me, simple remedies aren’t going to work, I have tried each one of them.

I have previously used Intel Corei3 and Pentium Duo systems with 2GB rams and no dedicated GPUs, still they played FHD vids flawlessly. This issue is surely not due to incapable hardware.

I tried SiSandra Software Lite Benchmarking tool which clearly stated that INTEL 5500 Graphics Driver was performing poorly in VIDEO TRANSCODING tests in my laptop as compared to its ratings.

Awaiting some effective answers and suggestions.

Intel Responds to Core i7-7700K Overheating Issue, Cluelessly Suggests We Stop Overclocking

People who buy the latest and greatest high-end Intel CPUs fit into a particular niche — they expect high performance. Some owners of Intel Core i7-7700 and i7-7700K chips have been complaining for months about mysterious temperature spikes, and now Intel has responded. However, that response was little more than canned PR nonsense, which has served only to further enrage affected users. The Core i7-7700 and 7700K are both quad-core chips with Hyper-Threading to bring the number of threads to eight. These are both designed to be enthusiast CPUs, but the K variant is particularly popular. The 7700K has a clock speed of 4.2GHz compared with 3.6GHz for the regular 7700, and you can push it far past the stock setting thanks to its unlocked multiplier. You always need to be aware of temperatures when overclocking a chip, and this is where some owners of the 7700s are running into issues.Multiple users have been noticing unusual temperature spikes as high as 90 degrees Celsius. In case you’re not familiar with CPU temperature ranges, that’s very high. The Core architecture has a maximum temperature threshold of 100 degrees, so owners have been understandably concerned. After 37 pages of complaints on Intel’s community forums, someone from the company finally issued a statement. It reads in part, “We do not recommend running outside the processor specifications, such as by exceeding processor frequency or voltage specifications, or removing of the integrated heat spreader (sometimes called “de-lidding”). These actions will void the processor warranty.” The spokesperson also said Intel has not identified any unexpected temperature variations in its testing. Basically, it thinks the temperature spikes are normal.

HD Graphics 4400 Pnp monitor sleeps randomly (HP ProBook 450 G2)

Windows 10 (up to date)

HP ProBook 450 G2

(Monitor adapter HD Graphics 4400 Pnp)

After a windows 10 update in mid May 2017 the monitor began sleeping after no activity for about 10 minutes. At that time the settings where to sleep after about an hour. I changed them to the equivalent of 'never' sleep in all modes and have left them like that. It continued to sleep after about 10 minutes.

240517 I reinstalled HP SP79336.exe (15.40.30.64.4531) and it seemed to be ok

020617 The problem returned. No obvious cause. Re-installed the driver above. Seemed ok

About a week later it started sleeping randomly after a few minutes. I have not identified a set of events which coincide with the sleep (or not to sleep - ie to behave correctly). I began wondering whether it had something to do with MS Word 2010 but I have not confirmed that.

HDMI audio device disappears when adding driver

I have a Lenovo Miix 700 with the Intel HD 515. I've installed the latest driver from Lenovo's website. Video works great, each time, every time. Audio via the HDMI interface never happens.

Screenshots below.

You'll notice that the High Definition Audio Device listed is the "generic" driver from MS that "sees" the HMDI audio on the HD 515.

Playback devices "sees" an HMDI audio device that it thinks is unplugged.

Updating the driver to the one provided with the GFX driver changes the "High Definition Audio Device" to "Intel(R) Display Audio".

Now the "Playback devices" doesn't see anything, which I'd expect as the TV is not connected at this point.

But here's the thing. It NEVER sees anything connected and Playback devices never updates to show it.

Connecting the TV, it doesn't update

Rebooting the tablet, while connected to the TV, it doesn't update.

Changing HDMI cables, it doesn't update.

Changing HDMI ports, it doesn't update.

Changing GFX drivers, it doesn't update.

I've tried the latest from Intel, and about 12 different versions of previous drivers, each time doing a full uninstall of the old device and drivers. Nothing seems to make the tablet see the HDMI audio.

Thoughts? Am I missing something obvious?

Having issues with drivers

So I have been having problems since a few days ago when I plugged my laptop into an HDMI to Component Signal Converter(for my tv). The screen was cut off but that is not the issue I'm here for. After I disconnected it I went to try to change a setting through my Intel HD Graphics control panel. However, upon trying to open it I got the loading image as normal but when the window appeared it was frozen and black. So I figured I would try the Intel Driver Updater, but upon updating, I received an error message something along the lines of "failed to update one or more features" and the driver updater would be stuck after the install window closed. Then I figured I would try to uninstall and reinstall the driver. I uninstalled it and rebooted. then I ran the driver install file from the update separately, (and later through the Driver Updater) to no avail. Finally, I went to the manufacturer's (dell) website and got a driver install file made for my laptop, (Compatible with Windows 8.1 my previous os I upgraded to 10 when I got the laptop). Despite the successful install, the system would not change over from the backup basic display driver that Windows was using, and I could not get it to recognize it. after uninstalling the intel driver again the display adaptor listing has disappeared from the device manager and a different listing was added for graphic card support that was lacking a driver. Now I'm stuck as I seemingly lack a way to reinstall a working Intel driver for my laptop and HDMI doesn't even work. My restore points led to errors as well and failed to work. If anyone can help please do.

If any system info is needed I'll be glad to provide it.

Use GTX 1070 for a triple display configuration and HD 4600 for 2 additional displays?! Bad FPS in DCS World!

Hi together,

I have an issue which came up suddenly after everything was running perfect up to now.

My Nvidia GTX 1070 has 3x27" WQHD displays connected. In DCS World (Flight Simulator from Eagle Dynamics) it is possible to export cockpit instruments to other external displays. So did I by using 2x8" displays. Unfortunately the GTX only can drive 4 displays max. So I choose to use my HD 4600 iGPU from my i7 4790K. This worked very good and I didn´t recognise any different FPS by using the two cards together compared to the single GTX. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 Creators Edition and the trouble started. The frames were capped at 29 FPS (59/2) independend on the settings. When I´m in the cockpit and have a look into the sky the frames went up to 75. I used to have 120+ doing this. The frames are all multiples of the frequencies of the displays (27"=75Hz, 8"=59Hz). Then I choose to go bak to Windows 10 Anniversary. Problem was solved. Now it came back without updating Windows 10 to Creators. I checked everything in regards to Vsync settings (DSR, drivers etc.). Nothing helped. With DDU I did fresh installations of the graphics drivers (both, Nvidia and intel) and figured out everything is good (except of missing 2 displays) until I install the intel driver (the latest from the intel site, 15.40.34.4624).

I´m out of ideas after searching the internet for 4 days now. Any help guiding me into the right direction is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Xoxen

Why does my Intel HD 4600 keep crashing after I updated it with update utility and everything else I could find. I am using windows 7 and the crashing started last week. Since I updated it doesn't crash as often but still crashes two or three times a day. I may need assistance with gathering the data needed to trouble shoot this issue.
