Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - failed to launch

Hello Intel community

I've got some problems regarding Vulkan support in newest drivers (.4815, but I assume it will occur in older too).
Console window said that there is some features missing in Vulkan support and Wolfenstein could not be launched at all.

Is this related to game itself (no Intel GPU support due to low performance, or missing support ATM) or Intel missed something regarding vulkan compatibility?
Or maybe game is looking for something that is not missed by Intel but just unsupported by graphic (due to software or hardware limits).

It would be nice to know what is going on, because as far I remembered I've got no troubles with newest Doom after all.
Both games are using same engine.
Even The Evil Within 2 which is using reworked engine of Doom 2016 running fine (I assume it's pure OpenGL 4.x game).

I'm looking for answer or maybe workaround to launch this game.
It would be nice to hear that Intel already working on launch driver for this game

Monitor 1 doesn't display unless monitor 2 is connected

Hi all,

I had my one Asus PG278Q monitor connected via display port to my 7700K's integrated graphics, and I changed the refresh rate in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel from 59Hz to 144Hz, and then my monitor stopped displaying. It always shows "no signal" and when I connect my roommates' monitor via HDMI to the integrated graphics, both monitors will display. My monitor stops displaying the instant I unplug the HDMI cable from my roommates' monitor, even if that monitor is off. I've reinstalled the Intel Graphics driver, reset all the settings for my monitor, restarted the computer, etc, but my monitor will not display without the other one connected. Does anyone have an idea as to what's happening?

I have an Asus UX501J that use Intel HD Graphics 4600. Usually I connect 2 extra monitors. Today I came back to my computer and all displays was in chaos. My main screen was in 4K duplicated with some other screen that do not exist. In total my driver is telling me I have 7 monitors. See my screen dump. No use to update the driver. This is the latest. 2017-01-26 (2).png

so for some irrelevant reason, I went to my display adapters in device manager and I selected the Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 driver.

I then selected "update driver" and in the following menu I chose "browse my computer for driver software"

in the following menu I selected "let me pick from a list of available..."

and in that menu I chose "microsoft basic display adapter" to run as my display adapter.

the problem is that when I tried to go back to the previously installed, latest version Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 driver, I got the error:

"windows found driver for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them"

"Data error (Cyclic redundancy check)"

I tried the option "search automatically for updated driver software" but nothing works. Please, I'm in dire need of help

I have windows 10 on an hp laptop by the way

Hi. i've been trying for months but every time i download a graphics driver from here it said's not supported. and when i try to auto search updates for anything in Device Manager it searches none stop and i have to ctr alt delete to end it.  So i followed the support on how to find the driver version i have and i attached a screen shot here. i think i might need to update the processor driver first before it supports graphics driver updates, but i don't know how.

This time after Windows updated to the latest Driver:- 20.19.15.4835 - it does not show the Graphics Processor.

I'm wondering if its a problem with DSA,

Intel Driver version : 20.19.15.4703

Windows 10 Home (10.0.14393)

The computer keeps restarting when the hdmi cable plugged into this monitor only.(no problem with other monitors)

So I can not keep Teamviewer connection as well.

I am trying to set custom resolution 2560x1600 @50 hz CEA861 but the control panel does not allow me to do.(An invalid value has been entered.Refer to manufacturer) Its because the selected display is different. I cant plug the monitor that keeps crashing.

Any idea why Intel adapter is not willing to work with this monitor?!

BTW, If I DISABLE In control panel,> system, >device, >display adapter> intel graphic card windows never crashes and I can keep the teamviewer connection. At this point the monitor backlight comes on, and the signal led turns to green BUT no image!

Cannot get native resolution - Intel Graphics Driver 530 on i5-6400.

I have an Acer desktop:

i5-6400

Intel Graphics 530

16GB RAM

two HDMI ports

Windows 10 Home 64-bit

I am using the intel graphics driver version 23.20.16.4849, dated October 27, 2017.

Until recently, I had been using an ASUS monitor 22" at 1920x1200. Everything was ok.

I bought a larger monitor (HP ZR30w, 30", native resolution 2560x1600.)

The intel graphics driver detected the new monitor. However, the max resolution I can choose is only 1280x800.

I tried custom resolution in Intel Graphics utility to change to 2560x1600, but it gave me the notorious "custom resolution exceeds the available bandwidth capacity"

even when I tried the 1920x1200 resolution, which was working perfectly fine on the older monitor, I received the same error.

Any thoughts?

Windows 10 Display Too Big for Monitor (HDTV) Intel Graphics 630

Hi, All -

I've had this issue since purchasing my new PC.

DETAILS ON PRODUCT:

HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-P030

Lubin Motherboard (Chipset H270, Processor socket LGA 1151)

Intel Core i7-7700 3.6 GHz

12 GB RAM DDR4-2400 PC4-19200

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630

I'm connected by HDMI cable from the PC to my Magnavox 39" 720p HDTV.

My screen cannot contain the entire display. It's been normal and fit on the screen before, but I disconnected then reconnected the HDMI cable and now the resolution is now stuck at a size that obscures the edges of the working area.

Trouble is that I can't see the edges of the display area, as it bleed off the edge of the screen. So my Windows button, minimize/maximize/close buttons on every window and any icons in the edges of any window are completely inaccessible.

I've been everywhere trying to find a fix for this. HP has been unhelpful, giving me all kinds of super-basic suggestions that don't address the main problem - there's no adjustment to fix this.

None of the available or customized screen resolutions to me will address the problem properly (either in the Intel software or Windows Display settings).

Troubleshooting doesn't recognize that there's any problem.

I've uninstalled the graphics driver and restarted to allow Windows 10 to re-install the driver.

I did the same thing with the display driver.

Biggest problem I have is that everything I've seen thus far doesn't address Intel HD Graphics 630 and it's settings.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update promised to address some of these problems. No dice.

I was able to update the graphics driver after the Fall Creators Update - didn't help.

I uninstalled the display driver again and restarted to allow Windows 10 to re-install the driver. Nothing.

There's no overscan (either on the tv or the software) occurring and Intel HD doesn't have an adjustment that allows me to fix *with* overscan so that I can adjust the size of the display.

Does anyone know how to address this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to be able to see my entire display again. A brand new PC should work properly - but it doesn't.

Thanks!

Hi, I just updated my Kaby Lake i5-7600 HD 630 to latest graphics driver 15.46.2.1.64.4729

After resuming from sleep my screen just flashes and displays vertical lines. I can't see the desktop just the lines and flashing screen.

I have to power off the machine and reboot to get back into windows.

Seems to be an issue with the latest update as previous driver worked ok.

On Win 10 "Scale Full Screen" option doesn't remains selected

Hello,

same driver and same hardware (I attach my SSU result). On a Win7 image we select  "Scale Full Screen" on Intel HD graphics config tool, we launch our 4:3 aspect ratio soft and it works perfectly, scaling to full screen ok. We stop and launch again our soft and perfect, we reboot and launch again and perfect.

On a Win10 image we select  "Scale Full Screen" on Intel HD graphics config tool, we launch our 4:3 soft and it appears small and centered. However we can then go to Intel HD graphics config tool and select "Scale Full Screen" again, and it woks perfectly, fully scaled! But after closing our soft and new launch, it appears small and centered again, every new launch is small and centered, and of course we can't not change settings after every launch or reboot.

It seems that driver, and only on Win10, doesn't stores that the "Scale Full Screen" option has been selected.

I also remember on old driver versions an "Override Application Settings" option, where is it? However on same driver version, but on Win7, this option is also missing but it keeps the "Scale full screen" option properly selected...

It's quite urgent as we would like to use this motherboard as our main commercial hardware for POS, Digital Signage and gambling machine. We have no problems with Win7 but we would like to use Win10 for lower License costs. The only thing wrong for us is this Scale problem.

Thank you.

Right Click Freeze Problem

$

Hi,

as people with Intel + NVIDIA laptops, we are having a very frustrating issue where our devices get locked for about a second when we right click on desktop or click on the battery icon on system tray.

This video here demonstrates the problem perfectly:

This was recored on a Razer laptop. But the issue can be seen on all brands including ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI and Razer.

We have tried updating every software possible, but no luck.

  • Intel driver
  • NVIDIA driver
  • Chipset driver
  • BIOS
  • Firmware

The problem can be solved by either disabling Intel GPU or disabling NVIDIA GPU. Both of them is not an option though, as if you disable Intel, not only you will drain the battery faster, but also some games will stop working. If you disable NVIDIA, then what is the point of buying a laptop with a discrete GPU?

There is a also a workaround: configuring a software to always work with NVIDIA in the backgound. This keeps the GTX 1060 alive but also drains battery faster. And there is no poaint in that as it renders Optimus useless!

I have created the same topic on Microsoft forums back in June 30! And so far, Microsoft did nothing about the issue: Intel + NVIDIA Laptop Freeze Problem - Microsoft Community

They also have a support article for an issue like this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/4033498/brief-black-screen-at-uac-or-wake-up-on-computers-that-have-two-video

  • 1607, problem.
  • 1703, problem.
  • 1709, problem...
  • RS4, problem goes on...

But today, we have found a solution for the right click issue! It turns out that removing those two entries from the regedit context menu prevents system freeze!

  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxcui
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxDTCM

So, I believe that the battery icon freeze issue is also related to Intel driver.

Please take a look at this problem and provide a solution.

Regards

Driver crash during HEVC playback w/DXVA2 (resume)

Hello,

Over in the Kodi forums, many users are reporting an ongoing problem with Intel Graphics drivers for the past 2 years when it comes to playing back HEVC(x265) content on intel graphics hardware in Windows 7 and 10.  This problem is widespread and affects many hardware platforms including the NUC, HD4600, HD5500, i7 6770HQ and likely most others.  This crash happens when attempting to resume a HEVC encoded video file using current drivers on a windows platform with Kodi v15,16,17 and should affect any media player which uses DirectX 11 and up.

One user reports that the issue is linked to the use of "open-gop" parameter used for encoding media files using HEVC (which is default for most encoders).

I'm an IT professional but not in software development, I'd like to help in any way I can but please have a look over at the forum thread linked below for further details.  This will likely affect most of your platforms as HEVC becomes more and more prevalent.  Other players which are unaffected typically use a much older version of Direct X.

Intel HD Graphic blue screen

Hello people,

I've been having this trouble since the last Windows10 update (when the people thingy added in the taskbar).

Now my problem is, when I'm spectating or playing a game in League of Legends, I tab out the game to my desktop, then go back to the game, the game crash for 10 seconds or more, then I get blue screen telling me something about failing to start display driver, and thne my computer restarts.

I thought maybe it's because of the Windows10 update, since I shutdown my PC after it downloaded the updates, then installed it the next morning, I uninstalled the Intel HD Graphic driver from programs and features, I got a resolutoion from 1920x1080 to 640x480, then updated it from the device manager and the resolution went back to normal.

But I'm still having this issue until now and I have no idea how to resolve it, for some reason, I can not download the lastest Intel HD graphic update from the official intel site.

My technical computer specifications are:

-Computer name: ASUS REPUBLIC OF GAMERS (ROG) STRIX

-Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

-CPU: Intel Core i5 @ 2.50GHz Kaby Lake 14nm Technology

-RAM: 12.0GB Dual-Channel @ 1197MHz (17-17-17-39)

-Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. GL553VD (U3E1)

-Graphics: Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz) - Intel HD Graphics 630 (ASUStek Computer Inc) - 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (ASUStek Computer Inc)

-GPU Installed Driver Version (Latest): 388.13  WHQL 2017.9.10 with 435.78 MB Size ForceWare version: 385.41 (SLI Disabled)

-Storage: 931GB Hitachi HGST HTS721010A9E630 (SATA)

-Optical Drives: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GUE1N

-Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

Now I know that the Intel graphic card is the one who manage the desktop applications, but this might be the problem of the blue screen after I tab in the game.

Any advice or help tips would be very appreciated.

HD 4400 latest driver issue-Fall Creator's Update

$

Hello everyone

I have noticed that the latest Intel HD Graphics 4400 drivers are not compatible with Windows 10 Build 1709. In games such as GTA San Andreas, COD:MW and others, the screen starts flickering violently if the VSync is OFF or FPS Limiter is off. As soon as you enable FPS Limiter or Vsync, the flickering is gone. Also, when the game bar pops up, the flickering is gone. No flickering is noticed during recording with WIndows DVR. I hope that this problem will be resolved soon with an updated driver version from Intel. I've tried re-installing WIndows 10 Fall Creator's Update from scratch but the problem still persists.

Thanks
