Black Screen after upgrading to G45/G43 Chipset driver 8.15.10.2182

Hi,

I searched for this problem but only came up w/ an issue against the 8.15.10.2086 driver that has supposedly been resolved in 2182.  I am having the same symptoms described in the 2086 thread but with the 2182 version.

My current driver version is 8.15.10.1749.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Studio desktop.  Microsoft update pushed the latest display adapter driver to my PC and from that point on, I would get a black screen when the logon screen displays.  I logged into safe mode to roll back the driver.  I then went to Intel's driver detector site and downloaded 2182 directly.  The screen snapped to a huge resolution then to black.  I rebooted and got the same black screen problem.

I am trying to upgrade the driver b/c I am attempting to play Diablo II Lord of Destruction (admittedly an old game) and it starts fine and plays for a while, then crashes out.  Oftentimes, the graphics get corrupted and window posts an error saying the driver stopped working but recovered.

Here is my information from the Graphics and Media Control Panel:

HDMI Audio looses layout on Haswell and Silent Stream Bug

$

First Problem i have: (nothing found in Web about this isue)
On Win7 Haswell HDMI audio looses layout (example - center outputs on Rear left and so on). this happens especially after refresh rate change.  Only Restarting the PC will help (tried deactivating hdmi audio, replug hdmi, ...).
I have testet this on serveral Mainboards and Processors.

The Problem excists randomly, and is difficult to reproduce.

Second problem:
the well known Silent Stream Bug (on Haswell, Sandy, Ivy). This is a no-go for mediacenter PC (ATI has fixed this isue). When will this be fixed on Intel?

When No Sound played in Windows, a Connected HDMI AMP switches to No Signal.

HDMI should permanent send Silent Audio, otherwise HDMI receivers cannot sync to signal (they dont know if there is 5.1 or 2 channel PCM audio).

Is intel aware of these issues and working on it?

BSOD after Intel graphics 3000 driver update 8.15.10.2425 to 9.17.10.3347

Hello intel community.

I'm writing because I'm hoping someone can help me with this odd problem i've run into when updating. recently my pc has lagged a little during fullscreen in youtube and after having gamed for a good few hours. i googled it and learned that it was about time i updated my drivers, since this would fix it. i did this 2 days ago, but after running into a problem with another update, i had to do a system restore today. I reinstalled the driver today so that i could get back to ver. 9.17 and BAM BSOD. I've tried a few times now, but no matter what i do, as soon as i update my driver 8.15 to 9.17, i get BSOD. After that, the intel graphics is disabled and pc looks like something from the 90s.

thank you for your time.

Invalid framebuffer operation after glCheckFramebufferStatus

$

0

I am getting a weird OpenGL error when running my application on my HD4000 and think this might be a driver bug. I found no place to report bugs, so I am posting this here. My system specs are: Windows 64bit, driver version 15.28.20.64.3347, OpenGL 3.3 Core Profile.

I boiled it down to a few OpenGL calls to reproduce it:

  1. Create two framebuffer objects.
  2. Create a texture and bind it as GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0 to both FBOs.
  3. Call glTexImage2D a second time on the texture
  4. Bind the first FBO and call glCheckFramebufferStatus (returns GL_FRAMEBUFFER_COMPLETE).
  5. Bind the second FBO and call glClear. The glClear gives an GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION.

Step 3 and 4 are required to reproduce the error, which I find especially disturbing for the glCheckFramebufferStatus call. The problem also does not occur on other graphics cards (including the Nvidia card on the same machine).

If you call glCheckFramebufferStatus on the second FBO, it also returns GL_FRAMEBUFFER_COMPLETE. However, when inspecting the internal OpenGL state with apitrace, it says that the second FBO has now a color attachment with object name zero.

Re-binding the texture to the second FBO after the glCheckFramebufferStatus call resolves the error. This is working as a workaround for now, but I suppose that binding textures to various FBOs each frame is not a good idea.

Here is C++ code that reproduces the error (see the link below for the full sources):

// Create a texture and bind it to two FBOs
GLuint textureName;
glGenTextures(1, &textureName);
glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, textureName);
glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, 0, GL_RGBA, 2, 2, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, NULL);

GLuint fboNames[2];
glGenFramebuffers(2, fboNames);
glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, fboNames[0]);
glFramebufferTexture2D(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0, GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, textureName, 0);

glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, fboNames[1]);
glFramebufferTexture2D(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0, GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, textureName, 0);

glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, textureName);
glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, 0, GL_RGBA, 2, 2, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, NULL);

glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, fboNames[0]);

// Removing this line resolves the error
glCheckFramebufferStatus(GL_FRAMEBUFFER); // Returns GL_FRAMEBUFFER_COMPLETE

glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, fboNames[1]);
GLenum bufferTarget = GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0;
glDrawBuffers(1, &bufferTarget);

// Adding this line resolves the error
// glFramebufferTexture2D(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, GL_DEPTH_ATTACHMENT, GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE, 1, 0);

glCheckFramebufferStatus(GL_FRAMEBUFFER); // Returns GL_FRAMEBUFFER_COMPLETE

//This call causes a GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION error.
glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT);

I also prepared a minimal Visual Studio 2013 64bit Project with the same code: Dropbox - HD4000Error.zip

My intel driver is outdated and I can't update?

When I try to update my Intel(R) HD (i3) graphics driver, it says "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date". My current driver date is 4/21/2010? How can I update??

After updating to Windows 8.1: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

$

Since I've updated to Windows 8.1 every time I press the power button to wake the computer from sleep, this happens:

The screen goes dark for a few seconds

then it starts working and I get the following message in Desktop:

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

It's very annoying and time consuming, since I'm turning the tablet off and on (actually sleep/wake up) constantly during the day. (This doesn't happen when turning on the device when it's completely shut down though.)

I have:

Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator

Current Driver Installed 9.14.3.1170

P.S.: I should also mention that I disabled Windows lock screen by editing the registry - so when woken up, it goes directly to last opened app/program - no lock and login screen. But I think that this shouldn't matter, since I've done this on Windows 8 (same computer, same graphics card) and everything worked fine.

How can this be solved?

Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 problems after reinstaling windows

$

Hi!

I have encountered serious problems after I had to format my HDD because my Windows 8 (OEM) ha

d gone corrupt and nothing helped me on reinstalling it...

So i installed my old Windows 7 but now i face serious problems with my graaphic cards and there drivers..

I have a Acer Aspire V3-571G V2.15 which had pre-installed W8 but now it has W7.

Before i reinstalled I had:

Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 [Display adapter]
NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M [Display adapter]
Generic PnP Monitor (15,3"vis)

But now with the same diagnostic tool I have:

Standard VGA Graphics Adapter [Display adapter] (2x)
Generic PnP Monitor (15,3"vis)

What have I tried:

I tried to install latest drivers for the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 but it always says that my Laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements...

I tried to install latest NVIDIA GeForce driver for my main video card but the instalation stops and says that I need to instal Intel@ drivers...

So it's a closed loop:

My Pc doesn't recognize my NVIDIA card as a difirent card from Intel one and I cant update any drivers for neither of them...

Any help will be highly appriciated! I have spent ~20h trying to fix/reinstall my windows and this problem with the driverrs is just killing me now...

P.S.

Any tips on other intel drivers are welcome as the Laptop didn't come with any instalation discs (guess that what you get if you buy a pre-installed Laptop from a e-store Q_Q)

More info on my Laptop:

HD 4000 Custom Mode Not working after 8.1 upgrade

Hi,

I recently upgraded to 8.1 and installed the new HD 4000 drivers.

I have been running 2560x1440 via 55Hz, via HDMI, for a couple of months. Now I can't create the custom resolution in custommodeapp.exe. It gives me the "custom resolution exceeds maximum bandwidth error."

I also noticed that the option to use interlaced instead of progressive is gone in custommodeapp.exe.

Please help. I spent 650 on my dream monitor and it won't work after the update.

Thank you

Hi,

I have an Problem with my HTPC. The System is an fresh installed (no Upgrade from 8.0)  Windows 8.1 (64 bit) System.

Hardware:      Asus H87M-Pro Board with latest Bios 0906

                    Intel i5 4570s with hd4600 Graphic

                    LG 60LA7408-ZA TV

The TV is direct connected with an HDMI cable (no HDMI switch or amplifier).

Software:       Windows 8.1 64 bit German with Media Center (all drivers up to date)

                    Intel Graphic driver Version 3316 (installed from zip in Device Manager)

The Problem: If I start the PC (TV is on), all works fine. If I change the Input on the TV or Power off the TV, the Sound is lost. After reconnect, the Audio Settings show the HDMI Sound as not connected. Reconnecting is not possible. Disconnecting  HDMI Cable and Reconnect Cable does not work. If i Reboot the PC, all works fine.

I have checked this with 3 HDMI cable, the original Driver from ASUS, the Driver from Windows Update, the Driver from your downloadsite and with the driver found here on board.

intel, please correct this, Thanks!!!!!

I attached 2 Files created with dxdiag (with and without sound).

Thanks for help.

Greetings

Andreas

How to make my PCIe GPU work with my Inboard GPU at the same time?

I just setup ASUS Q87M-E LGA 1150 Intel Q87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with 2 MSI N9600GT-2D512-OCv2 GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-Bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card. Initially both cards where recognized and I was able to run 4 monitors from the PCIe video cards. But I also need to be able to run additional monitors using the onboard video processor, but for some reason I can't see additional monitors being connected. After reading some posts I have "enabled" my multi-monitor option in the BIOS setting for iGPU and made iGPU the primary source. That just allows me to use the onboard display and it no longer recognized the 2 video cards in the PCIe slots.

How do I get them to run together at the same time?

Thank you,

Erik

P.S. I'm running Intel Core i7-4770 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics, If that is helpful.

I have an Asus T100LA 10" Tablet with an Intel Atom Z3740 CPU running Win 8.1 x86 , I ran the Driver Update Utility from my Tablet and it told me that there was an new driver for my Tablet, So i downloaded it and ran the file "Win32_b_15333.exe" and was told "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software" and that`s as far as it goes, my tablet only has 32gb of storage with only 10gb free and 2gb of ram, could this be the reason the driver will not install?

Thanks for any help.

John.

Will Intel made a driver that works under Windows 8 for Intel GMA 3600?

Dear Intel Community,

I have a netbook with Intel Atom N2600 processor, which has Intel GMA 3600.  Under the Metro screen in Windows 8, if I try opening an app, Windows 8 crashes.  I get VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE and Kernel Mode Display driver problem (igdkmd32.sys).

I'm running an external monitor.  I use the generic Microsoft display adapter and everything works, but my video resolution is not right. (1600 x 1200 instead of 1920 x 1080)  It's stretched.

This is a known issue.  My netbook should run Windows 8 under Intel GMA 3600 with the last published driver.  However it doesn't.  And if I wanted to use just the Netbook alone it's resolution is 1024 x 600 so I can't use Metro.  Unless of course I trick it into displaying 1024 x 768 mode, then it works, but it looks all stretched LOL.

Is Intel going to put out a driver for Intel GMA 3600 that works properly for Windows 8?  I am dying to know!

(Supposedly from reading virtually every thread on this from forums across the Web, there are tablets with this GMA that won't run Windows 8 even though they were advertised as doing so.)

Please let me know if you have any answer to this question!  Thanks.  Cheers!
