Windows 10 update - Resolution not supported

$

0

I had my HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0xx hooked up to a Samnsung tv and everything was operating just fine . Then i installed the latest Windows 10 update and when i tried to connect my computer to the screen via HDMI it said that the resolution is not supported and to change the resolution on my external device . Thus i was locked out of my pc with no way to access it since i couldn't get any visual . So i bought a VGA cable and connected it and though now i have a visual, the image quality is horrendous, so i'm trying to find a way to connect my pc through the HDMI again . I tried changing the resolution through the display settings and the intel graphics control panel to no avail . I also downloaded your Driver & Support assistant and installed all available updates and nothing happened, it still can't support the resolution . Any suggestions ? By the way, my processor is : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100 CPU @ 3.90 GHz

dGPU Switch and Freeze Problem

$

Hi,

there is a problem with laptops which have Intel CPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is, whenever you try to do some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze.

Some actions, which cause the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are:

  • Right click on desktop
  • Left click on battery-icon in task-bar
  • Opening Chrome-browser
  • Opening Windows Image Viewer (app + classic Foto viewer)
  • Opening system control panel
  • Provocation any animation on task bar (e.g. thumbnail-preview, ...)
  • Loading a new tab in Firefox

Here is a video demonstrating Display Setting Freeze:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7K1SpCQgAY

Another video showing dGPU switch on a lot of simple tasks:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-euiZmHZwlc

Another one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txQZWfWFhlc

We have tried updating every software possible, but no luck.

  • Intel driver
  • NVIDIA driver
  • Chipset driver
  • BIOS
  • Firmware

The problem can be found on all laptop brands: ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer.

The problem can be solved by either disabling Intel GPU, which forces the system to always work with NVIDIA, or disabling NVIDIA GPU. Both of them is not an option though, as if you disable Intel, not only you will drain the battery faster, but also some games will stop working. If you disable NVIDIA, then what is the point of buying a laptop with a discrete GPU?

There is a also a workaround: configuring TrayPwrD3 to always work with NVIDIA in the backgound. This keeps the NVIDIA GPU alive but also drains battery faster. And there is no poaint in that as it renders Optimus useless!

So, manufacturers have to come up with a fix.

Thank you.

We have an ETA for the fix!

Hello all,

I believe we have root caused the issue and are testing various potential fixes, one looking promising so far. This happens often though in fixing bugs, we'll attempt to check in and hopefully it won't cause other issues or break when combined with other code fixes. It is a step in the right direction though and I thought I'd share progress. If all goes well, we could be looking at a fix in our March/April driver depending on any complications and perhaps a Beta if I can get one out sooner. I'll keep the updates coming as they're available.

Intel HD 4600 Lenovo Y5070

Hello everyone, I have a Lenovo Y5070 with intel HD 4600 and nVidia 860m.
This monday I was playing overwatch, closed the game, disconnected my ethernet cable, and since then my screen isn't working properly.ello

It shows yellow rectangles and some kind of tearing. Same happens when I plug an HDMI cable so it's not my laptop's screen.

Same error happens in ubuntu.
So far the only "solution" I've come to is disabling intel HD 4600 on windows the device manager but then I'm not able to change brightness nor suspend my laptop.

I tried changing the drivers but all with the same result.

I don't know what else to try but I really hope the intel HD isn't physically damaged

Please, any ideas, or suggestions on how to fix it or what to try?

Thanks!!!

Greetings,
Efra.

Refresh rate is automatically changing when playing games

Hello guys!

I have a Lenovo Z51-70 80K6 with an i7 5500U @2,4 ghz and Intel HD Graphics 5500. I connected my laptop to a 4k TV via HDMI and when I try to play games in fullscreen,the refresh rate goes down(I play the games at 1080p),and it's unplayable.If I play the game in windowed mode,it workes fine,but I want it in fullscreen.When the laptop isn't connected to the TV,it works fine,although my laptop screen has only 60HZ refresh rate. Is it a problem of my iGpu or a problem of my laptop?

Looking for an older driver with gamma control

I, like many others, sorely need the gamma control back on the control panel.  I know its not gonna happen for a while so until then, i want to go back to an older version of the driver that has it.

Last time i accidentally upgraded i simply roll-backed the driver using windows Properties panel in the Device Manager for my integrated graphics.  However upon upgrading to Creator's Update, i no longer have that option, and ive had issues trying to manually install drivers (something something dont have min specs), including ones i thought were general intel graphics drivers.  Maybe im just looking in the wrong places.  Can anyone help me out?

Does HD 630 not support 10-bit h.264/AVC?

I recently bought a new computer with Pentium G4600 (and with integrated graphics HD 630). Downloaded some jellyfish video test files and I was pleasantly surprised by the integrated GPU's performance even in files with bitrates I'll probably never come across. There are AVC, HEVC, HEVC 10-bit encodes in the jellyfish files (all are hardware accelerated by the HD 630). Then I tried some 10-bit AVC files from Kodi's sample page and there was non hardware accelleration for them. Is it just me or HD 630 has support for 8-bit AVC, 8-bit HEVC,10-bit HEVC but not for 10-bit AVC?

Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver has slow performance after Windows 10 Creators Update

Dear Intel Community,

after installing Windows 10 Creators Update (in April 2017), all 3D software I use became extremely slow in visual performance. To be exact, the software I'm using: FEKO 2017, Solidworks 2018, Altair HyperWorks 2017. The features like rotating, pan, zooming or even making a sketch are useless now, because it takes enormously lot of time to redraw the view, moreover, whole UI is freezing, although the CPU is not loaded at all.

I tried different things:

  • Latest driver version I have is 10.18.10.4885 (date 1/3/2018);
  • I rolled back to previous versions of driver (three versions before), they behave the same way;
  • I deleted and reinstalled the new driver completely – it works perfectly until restart. After computer is shut down and turned on again, everything is the same as before. Should the driver be reinstalled anytime I need to work?
  • I installed Windows 10 1709 16299.248 from scratch;
  • Using of OpenGL software rendering mode in a temporary option, but it also has poor performance in big model assemblies.
  • Tried Intel Driver Updater to search new drivers;
  • The BIOS was completely updated to its latest version.

Next thing I tried and it works for me now with some limitations:

I walked through all driver versions downwards, reinstalling and testing them at least three days to validate the functionality. I found out, that the version 10.18.10.3379 for Windows 8.1 x64 (driver date 26.08.2013) works well and without any problems since April 2017. I tested different software (SolidWorks, Altair Hyperworks, FEKO) and different scenarios, e.g. waking up from the sleep mode, hibernation, hyper-v on/off, shared second monitor over Mini DisplayPort and other stuff — the driver works, but with some inconveniences (e.g. completely black model in HyperWorks in shaded mode).

The automatic driver update was blocked in gpedit during all driver tests and installs to avoid its automatic change. The steps I did:

  • Open Group Policy Editor gpegit;
  • Go to \Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update;
  • Change "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" option to enabled.
  • Delete the actual driver in devmgmt.msc completely, including driver files;
  • Restart OS;
  • Install Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver version 10.18.10.3379 for Windows 8.1 x64 (driver date 26.08.2013).

I'm pulling my hair out over here.

I've tried to uninstall/re-install different versions of display drivers and monitor drivers in an effort to get the second monitor to work.

I currently have this driver installed

I have tried multiple versions of this driver with no luck.

The laptop and secondary AOC display worked for a day, but now the second monitor isn't even detected.  It doesn't show up at all in display settings.

My monitor is an AOC I2779VH.  If it has a driver I can't find it... I have plugged the monitor into another computer and it works fine.

All help is GREATLY appreciated.

APC_INDEX_MISMATCH with Intel HD Graphics 630

$

Hi,

Since the last windows major update (Fall Creators Update published this winter 2017) I can no longer watch any protected videos on my PC, the result is either an error from the video player in the best case or a computer crash with a bluescreen APC_INDEX_MISMATCH in igdkmd64.sys.

My PC configuration is :

Motherboard : MSI H270M Mortar Artic (Latest Bios MS-7A69 B.40) (I had to upgrade BIOS on this board for the latest graphics driver to not show only noise on the screen when returning from standby)

RAM : 16 GB

Processor : Core i3-7100 CPU

Graphic chipset : Intel HD Graphics 630

Intel Chipset Drivers : 10.1.1.44

Intel ME Drivers : 11.7.0.1043

Intel Graphic Drivers : 23.20.16.4901 (or 15.60.2.4901 when you download it) (tried : 4877, 4815, 4678 all the same BSOD)

Windows 10 Pro x64 Version : 1709 (16299.192)

Playing videos that is not protected by DRM is fine : YouTube for instance, personal videos made with smartphone

Playing videos from :

* Netflix Application

* Netflix Website

* OCS Application (French film & TV subscription service)

* CANAL VOD Web Site (French film rental service)

Computers instantly crash with APC_INDEX_MISMATCH (Netflix Application sometimes doesn't crash but give error H7354 (not sure of err. number though) and this error on the Netflix website does invite Windows 10S user to install the media feature pack, this would suggest that Fall Creator update + intel driver + motherboard combination = broken protected media path)

Before Windows Fall Creator Update I had ZERO issues with this system (except with new Intel Graphics Drivers when returning from standby where the screen was corrupted this was resolved by installing a bios update)

Hello,

I have a problem with the configuration of the video card.

The Intel tool informs me that my monitor supports the 2560x1080 re-solution, but it does not allow me to configure it. I was able to install the latest driver without problems, but I can not configure the extended screen correctly.

How can I fix this problem?

G4560 and no signal on HDMI

$

Hello to everyone :)

I have a very annoying problem with my new PC and TV 55'' (I use my TV as monitor): sometimes on the TV appear "No signal", I will show my hardware situation:

TV Samsung JU6800 4k 55''

Motherboard MSI B250M Bazooka

CPU Intel G4560

8GB Ram

Screen resolution is set to 3840x2160 @30hz (not 60hz because, I suppose, I read in the specifications of Motherboard it only support 3840x2160 until 30hz)

1. If I turn on my TV and AFTER the PC, "No signal" appear on the TV. In this case I have to restart my PC (restart TV or change HDMI source or unplug and replug cable is not useful)

2. If I turn on the PC first and AFTER the TV, everything ALWAYS works right

But please note: if I turn off TV and PC and in less than 15/20 minutes I restart them, is not important if I turn on TV BEFORE the PC, everything works fine in this case.

So the problem persist ONLY when more than 15/20 minutes are spent and I turn on FIRST my TV. It sounds like that the TV, after that time, reset something that I cannot wake up if I restart the PC after the tv

I also tried to set the screen resolution of my PC to 1980x1200 @60hz: same problem.

Or changing UHD color settings and Istant On/Off on the TV: no useful results

Have somene some ideas? Can be the cable? Do I need of an external video card should improve the situation? Or it is a problem (bug) of Samsung TV?

Or, this is my idea, is there something G4560 drivers? I also tried to replace it with drivers on MSI website, but without improvents

ps: both TV and PC have last firmware and drivers installed

Hello!

We are using video surveillance software with fullscreen mode on 3 monitors, connected to HD630 (Intel i7 7th generation) with Intel HD Graphics driver version 15.60.2.4901 and after startup all submonitor's screens become filled windows background color (black in my case). Seems like the window on the screen become fully transparent, but looks like any actions on transparent window's elements is working.

Main monitor's screen stay OK.

We also reproduced that issue on HD630 on i5-7500 and i7 6-th generation with 15.60.2.4901 driver version. Driver version 22.20.16.4664 do not have this problem.

As we check, all versions newer than 4664 do have this problem.

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Could you please help with the problem?

Seriously, how to disable the intel batch file {A6D608F0-0BDE-491A-97AE-5C4B05D86E01}.bat

$

0

We bought several corporate laptops that came with Intel HD Graphics 520 cards, and downloaded the driver for the cards from here on the intel website. After getting corporate security to assist in the installing of the driver, after rebooting, our corporate protection solution "Bit9" blocks this batch file from running. Each time a user logs in, the bat starts running file C: \ Intel \ GfxCPLBatchFiles \ {A6D608F0-0BDE-491A-97AE-5C4B05D86E01}.bat and they are hit with a security warning notification that an unapproved file was blocked.

How do we disable it? We can not find any reference to the file in the registry, services or startup locations.

OpenGL2.0 support Intel HD5500 driver (Dell xps 13 9343 i7-5600U) connected through displaylink dock.

Hi there,

For a while the OpenGL does not work properly when connected through a displaylink dock (Startech USB3SHDDOCK). My laptop is a dell xps 13 9343 which has the Intel 5600U and therefore

a intel HD5500 graphics card. There is a solution provided by intel by installing the 15.60 driver version or above. Now, the HD5500 is still on 15.40 (newest driver).

See link for suggested solution: I need full OpenGL-Support – DisplayLink Support

Is there any news related to if the driver for this card will be updated to 15.60, or above, so I can use OpenGL2.0 through by dock without altering my setup everytime I need to use the specific programs?

Thank you,

W.P.

UHD Graphics 620 Driver Problem with Latest 15.65.4.4944

$

Hello, all.

I reported this in another thread and someone from Intel support has e-mailed me and given the standard low level support answers.  My post was deleted by a mod apparently, and I'm not sure why.  I have also e-mailed video of the problem to Intel.

I have screen irregularities which only occur while on battery power on 15.65.4.4944.  The screen moves left and right by about 1/4 inch on a regular basis.  When plugged in, I get occasional flashes of black and static, but nothing like this.  When I revert to earlier drivers, no problem.

Thought I would post again, this time with video.  I know that laptops with UHD 620 graphics are still a relative rarity, but I was wondering if anyone else had/has the same problem.

My computer is a HP Spectre x360 13t-ae000 CTO with an i7-8550U processor.

I have reverted back to the 4901 driver, which works fine on both plugged and on battery.

Anyone else using UHD 620 with the newest generic drivers?

  1. Install Windows 10 Creators Update;
  2. Install latest driver;
  3. The described software is unusable.

How to make new driver work (until first OS restart):

  1. Restart PC into BIOS
  2. Nothing change
  3. Exit discarding any changes
  4. When Windows loads, the driver works well
  5. After first OS restart or shutdown, the driver begins to behave laggy as before.

Intel HD Graphics 515 - can it playback Bluray-3D content?

Hi,

I'm owning a HP Elite x2 1012 G1, equipped with an Intel HD Graphics 515 graphics chip.

The chip's driver dialog claims that the chip supports 3D playpack, but when I have PowerDVD 16/17 try to playback a Bluray-3D's movie content (having a 3D DLP Link enabled beamer connected to my notebook), the following error message appears:

Screenshot 3D playback error.png

The error message I get is in German. Here is the translation of it:

Playback stopped because your graphics card driver is incompatible. Make sure it meets the minimum requirements. You can find additional information on the CyberLink FAQ web site (code-0012).

Run the BD/HD Advisor tool for more information.

What's wrong? Why can't I playback a 3D movie's content in Full-HD with the Intel HD Graphics 515 although its driver dialog claims to be able to do so?
