Windows 7 "forgets" second monitor upon reboot (fine upon driver install)
I have a Gigabyte z77x-ud3h motherboard with onboard Intel graphics. I have updated the graphics drivers both via the Gigabyte motherboard support page AND the Intel support page (current driver 9.18.10.3165).
If I *install* or *reinstall* the video driver, Windows 7 will recognize my second monitor without issue. It is also recognized in BIOS setup and in Ubuntu.
When I *reboot* Windows 7, however, it defaults to a single monitor. It will not recognize the second monitor. If I try to detect displays, it says "display not detected."
I need Windows 7 to retain my driver settings after reboot. How is this done?

Please help! my video graphics driver bricks my laptop
Hello!
this are the background:
My laptop was connected to HDMI trough cable and shuts down due power outage.Then when I try to power on again only shows windows logo screen for a few seconds and then screen is black.
I noticed that the problem is the graphics driver, I uninstall driver and works well with generic driver, then I install driver with windows update utility and fails again.
My laptop is
HP Pavilion 14-b017cl 14" Laptop Computer, Intel Core i5-3317U, 6GB RAM, 500GB HD
Graphics: Intel® HD graphics 4000 with up to 1664MB total graphics memory
What can I do?
Rendering problem, Win8, Firefox 31.2.0, Intel HD 4000
Hi,
I have an Elitebook Folio 9470m with Intel HD graphics 4000, running Windows 8. When I run interactives from The concord Consortium in Firefox, like http://mw.concord.org/nextgen/#interactives/chemistry/chemical-reactions/catalysis, the model is not rendered porperly. See the bug tracking at the Concord consortium: https://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/73341892
The driver version for the graphics card is 9.18.10.3006, which seems to be the most recent.
Is this å known bug? Is there anyone who knows how to fix it?
Windows 8 + Lenovo Docking Station = External Monitors Not Working
This issue is dogging me.
I upgraded my Lenovo X240 to Windows 8 and everything works fine, at work I have an ASUS VH238 that I connect to via the DisplayPort. The Asus doesn't have any DisplayPorts, so I use a Startech MiniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter.
No problems.
Now, at home I have an UltraDock. When I was using Windows 7, everything was wonderful. But now, disaster. I have two of the same monitors (Asus VH238) and I connect my UltraDock with DisplayPort to HDMI cables. I can see the BIOS prompts and the initial Windows logo. But as soon as the Intel Driver gets loaded, everything goes blank. The lights on the monitors turn from Blue to Orange and the laptop doesn't see any external monitors either.
If I change the graphics drivers to "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" I can get one monitor working. I don't think the basic MS driver does multi-monitor anyway.
I've swapped it out with another UltraDock, no change.
OK, and here's this: At work, my boss has a similar X240 and an Ultradock. EXCEPT he has two Lenovo monitors using DisplayPort cables (no adapters). AND IT WORKS FINE. His works, mine works.
So, I'm ready to give and go back to Win7, but I'd rather not I like Win8 (No really! I Do!).
Any thoughts?
FYI: I followed the instructions from Lenovo here, no change:
HD 2500 graphics drivers crash in Win 7 Home Premium so can only use Standard VGA Driver
I've just bought this PC second hand and it has a fresh Win 7 Home Premium OS on it. However I noticed it didn't run Aero. When I looked closer it was because the graphics adapter was just Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. So I tried to update it with the latest drivers, but when I reboot it crashes shortly after the initial splash screen.
I have the DQ77CP board, an i5 3470 CPU. I'm sure this has the HD2500 integrated graphics on it and that's what I've tried updating it with - even using Intel's own driver update utility.
What can I do to install the correct graphics drivers so it doesn't crash? Thanks.

HD4600 - Random Cut to Black
I am having a problem using the onboard intel HD4600 of my Gigabyte Z87-HD3.
Randomly during use the screen will cut to black the AV amp shows no audio in and then everything returns a second later.
This is very annoying.
My system is as follows:
Gigabyte Z87-HD3
i5-4430
Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Connected to:
Onkyo TX-NR515 via HDMI. (Which is connected to a Sharp LED TV)
Originally my problem was the well documented issue whereby on turning the Amp / TV off but leaving the PC on I would not get sound back unless I rebooted the PC when turning the AMP / TV back on.
I updated the drivers to the latest version and the BIOS to the latest version. This solved the above.
I am not sure if my random cut to black problem is since this update or not. I never really got to use the PC much for video before the fix.
Would appreciate any pointers.
I have tested the TV/Amp with another PC and a Blu-Ray player, it never does this then.
HD4000 driver problem about multiple display handling
Do you know whether the following driver problem about HD4000 multiple screen issues has been already fixed? As far as I know the HD4000 driver is only able to handle a secondary monitor/TV if the primary one is not attached to other than DVI. Unfortunately, my mobo only has HDMI, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt interfaces. I have only seen a secondary screen working in history on my machine once immediately after a driver update but it worked only for one day. Huge thanks for any info in advance.

OpenGL related driver bug
Hello,
I use OpenTK to develop an OpenGL based application for Windows. I use vertex buffer objects to upload vertex data. The problem is that the Intel driver graphics seems to have a bug because the OpenGL function: "GetBufferParameter" does not return the correct buffer size. I've already described my problem the OpenTK community, but they pointed me to this forum because they think its a driver bug.
The full problem can be found here: GetBufferParameter behaves strangely | OpenTK
I use Windows 7 and have a Intel® HD Graphics 3000. Driver is 9.17.10.3517
Help would be really appreciated.
Regression between driver versions 3907 and 3960 (Intel HD 4600)
Hi,
We have an application that does some intensive OpenGL 4.2 work (lots of image load/store and atomic counter stuff).
We noticed there is a regression between versions 3907 and 3960: one of our shaders no longer runs as expected.
Additionally, we have some issues with Intel GPUs in general. We found a compiler bug and one of our shaders still doesn't run at all on intel platforms (regardless of driver version). The same shader works fine on nVidia and AMD platforms.
Is it possible to get in touch with somebody at Intel in order to investigate these issues?
Thanks,
-FC
Intel HD 4600, driver version 10.18.10.3960, Windows 8.1 64bit. The Screen turns off after about one minute without any action.
Hello,
After installing the latest driver version 3960, my screen turns off automatically after exactly one minute without mouse or keyboard actions. I suppose this was a new feature included in the latest driver, but it really bothers me when I need to have the screen on for reading. I tried to switch this feature off by changing windows power options and Intel control panel power options and I failed.
Does anyone have the same problem as I do? I want to know whether this is a feature or a bug and how to get rid of it whatever it is.
Thanks~
Intel Graphics refresh rate drop and are inconsistent after sleep or hibernate
Systems with Intel HD graphics have inconsistent monitor refresh rates, lower refresh rates and poorer graphics performance after resuming from a 'sleep' or 'hibernate'.
To reproduce for systems with Intel HD graphics:
- Make sure the monitor is set to its highest refresh rate (e.g. on Dell U2711 monitor, choose 60 Hz rather than 59 Hz; or on a Dell Latitude E6320 laptop, choose a refresh rate of 60 Hz, not 40 Hz).
- With a user logged in, either close laptop lid, or put the system into 'Sleep' or 'Hibernate'
- Wake the system up again and log in
- Check the Monitor refresh rate under the Intel "Graphics Properties" - the refresh rate has dropped from the higher setting to the lower setting and is now either 59 Hz or 40 Hz in the examples above.
- Check the Monitor refresh rate under Windows Control panel -> Screen Resolution -> Advanced Settings -> Monitor -> Screen Refresh rate. Here the original higher refresh rates are still being reported. I.e. the refresh rates being reported by Windows vs. that reported by the Intel driver GUI are inconsistent after resume. See attached screen-shot.
- Use windows desktop - the system is now slightly but noticeably more sluggish/lower graphics performance after resume.
- In addition, after the screen goes in standby, the screen 'forgets' brightness and contrast settings set in the Intel Graphics Properties after waking up again (screen returns to brightness/contrast settings it had prior to setting them in the Intel Graphics Properties).
This issue occurs both for the built-in laptop monitor as well as an externally attached secondary monitor (connected over DisplayPort).
The issue also occurs on the monitor attached to a Desktop PC running Intel HD graphics.
Monitors on which the issue has been reproduced:
- Dell Latitude E6320 built in laptop screen
- Dell U2408WFP monitor (Display Port)
- Dell U2711 (Display Port)
This issue occurs both for 2nd and 3rd generation Core i7 HD graphics, from a Dell laptop, as well as from PC with Intel Motherboard (Z77).
All systems running Win 7 Pro, sp1, x64 with all updates, latest drivers and BIOS.
Thanks

Windows 8.1 HDMI Video not working
Hardware: Dell Inspiron 17R
OS: Windows 8.1 x64
-connecting to-
LG 32LS3400
Issue:
Couple weeks back (as of 1 November 2014) I was in class doing a render with Cinema 4D, a 3D animation software. The render itself was extremely demanding of PC resources and froze. I tried to abort the render, and got a window I do not recall except I did briefly see "Display." Same night I got home I hooked up my laptop to the LG TV and noticed glitches on the TV, flashing, all until I dropped the refresh rate from 60 hz to 30 hz. I had tried connecting to other TV's and had no issue. As for the LG, It still had minor glitches but the screen stayed on and I continued to figure out what went wrong. Several days ago, I read in a post to delete the display driver and reinstall it.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I did just that.
NOW, I get no picture on either my LG or other TV's. Or any monitor.
My laptop does recognize the fact there is a TV. Using Debut Video Capture, the preview shows my main desktop plus the extended desktop.
So now I've basically ran out of ideas, and the last thing I want to do is completely nuke my laptop and rebuild it for an extended display.
Anyone know a good fix?
Thanks!

glReadPixels not working when reading from a FrameBuffer
I have an Intel HD 4600 Notebook with the latest Drivers (10.18.10.3960 29/9/2014) running on Windows 8.1 64bit.
I am writing an OpenGL application which needs to read pixels from a Framebuffer. The Intel Driver reports an OpenGL error 1282 and fails to read. I have tried different formats (GL_FLOAT and GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE etc), but all fail. I believe the code is OK as the same code works fine on NVIDEA and AMD hardware.
NOTE The glReadPixels works OK if I am reading from the GL_BACK buffer and only fails if I attempt to read from another buffer.
Is this a Driver Bug or am I doing something wrong?? Any assistance to get this working appreciated.
Some code below...
Setup the Frame Buffer
// Create the FBO
glGenFramebuffers(1, @fFBOHandle);
glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, fFBOHandle);
// Create the texture object for the primitive information buffer
glGenRenderBuffers(fColBufSize, @fColorBuffer[0]);
for I := 0 to fColBufSize-1 do
Begin
glBindRenderBuffer(GL_RENDERBUFFER, fColorBuffer[I]);
glRenderBufferStorage( GL_RENDERBUFFER, GL_RGBA32F, SizeX, SizeY );
glFramebufferRenderBuffer (GL_DRAW_FRAMEBUFFER, GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0 + I, GL_RENDERBUFFER, fColorBuffer[I] );
fBuffer[I] := GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0 + I;
end;
// depth
if fIncDepthBuffer then
Begin
glGenRenderBuffers(1, @fDepthBuff);
glBindRenderBuffer(GL_RENDERBUFFER, fDepthBuff);
glRenderBufferStorage( GL_RENDERBUFFER, GL_DEPTH_COMPONENT24, SizeX, SizeY );
glFramebufferRenderBuffer(GL_DRAW_FRAMEBUFFER, GL_DEPTH_ATTACHMENT, GL_RENDERBUFFER, fDepthBuff);
end;
glDrawBuffers(fColBufSize, @fBuffer[0]);
// Verify that the FBO is correct
aStatus := glCheckFramebufferStatus(GL_FRAMEBUFFER);
CheckForGLErrors('Float Buffer Set Size');
// Restore the default framebuffer
glReadBuffer(GL_NONE); //for older hardware
glBindRenderbuffer(GL_RENDERBUFFER, 0);
glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, 0);
Read the Pixels from the FramBuffer. The PixelID is a local array and X,Y is the mouse location.
glBindFramebuffer(GL_READ_FRAMEBUFFER, fFBOHandle);
glReadBuffer(GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0);
glReadPixels(x, y, 1, 1, GL_RGBA, GL_FLOAT, @PixelID[0]);
glReadBuffer(GL_NONE);
