Screen flashing at startup

$

0

Im getting this flashing when PC starts up and goes to desktop, with nothing else switched apart from the monitor and Pc on its its ok but when my TV is on and i start the Pc up that's when i get the flashing, i think its something to do with the graphic card or settings within.

I tried a different socket on the TV and it started flashing again so its definitely something to do with the HDMI, there's nothing wrong with the cable, as it works perfectly.

Im using a Asus Z97-A mobo with Intel 4600 on board graphics and is new, and all updates and drivers are up to date.

I have done a video of it which shows the monitor and hope someone can tell me what's going on and how to rectify it, or if there is nothing to worry about, can be found here,

Intel's graphics driver is calling Sleep when vsync is enabled

$

On OpenGL-Based applications, Intel's driver use Sleep!

I guess the driver is doing that to decrease CPU usage.

This is a serious problem that causes fps drop. How can I avoid this problem?

Is disabling vsync the only way to avoid this problem?

From callstack, I could see that Intel's driver is calling Sleep in the SwapBuffers() call.

However when I launch the app with fullscreen mode, the problem goes away.

>kernel32.dll!SleepStub()
ig75icd64.dll!00007ffe145e849d()
ig75icd64.dll!00007ffe145d8ed0()

Updating the graphics driver to 15.36.7.64.3960 didn't solve the problem.

Intel HD4600 Color Dithering Issues on Non-OEM Images

$

Good afternoon;

On our new machines using the Intel HD4600, we have encountered issues with color-dithering issues on Windows 8.1 Enterprise and the Windows 10 Technical Preview.  I am going to engage Lenovo technical support on this, but as the problem has been narrowed down to the HD4600 graphics, I thought I would try here as well:

  • The issue is not present on Windows 7 Enterprise corporate image
  • The issue is not present on OEM Windows 8.1 Pro image
  • The issue is present on Windows 8.1 Enterprise install (even with a vanilla Microsoft ISO installation)
  • The issue is present on Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview (even with a vanilla Microsoft ISO installation)
  • The issue is not resolved by updating/downgrading graphics drivers - revisions from 2013 to 2015 have been attempted
    • OEM drivers from the 100% functional OEM image were captured, but when redeployed on a corporate Win 8.1 Enterprise image, does not correct the issue
  • The issue is resolved when using non-Intel, non-accelerated "Microsoft Basic Display Driver"
  • The issue is not able to be captured with screenshots - screenshots will display normally on a non-affected systems

The issue is mostly prevalently seen on images/wallpapers with solid color variance, the "Metro UI" styled Windows 8.1 Start Screen icons of solid colors, and various graphical dialog boxes.

Screenshots from a physical camera pointed at the LCD - Captured screenshots will not reflect the issue in the image file:

2502t6q.png

Similar issues from users on this forum:

https://communities.intel.com/message/198199

I've expired my troubleshooting skills for this one - generally things like this are driver-related, but I've disproved that.

Any ideas?  Obscure registry entry perhaps?

Any help would be much appreciated; thank you for your time and support.

Display driver crash causing system to freeze during start up of Photoshop and Premiere Pro

This problem only happens if I put my computer through sleep cycles. On a fresh restart I can launch both photoshop and premiere without problem. Once the system freezes, I can't do anything but to force shut-down the laptop by long pressing my power button.

The following thread describes similar issues but for a different driver. I've followed the suggestion and manually installed the latest driver from Intel (the OEM didn't work) for my intel graphics card, but the problem persists.

Intel HD 4600 and Outlook 2013 - white screen

$

We have a number of Dell 9020 which have the Intel HD 4600 drivers installed and we are seeing graphic rendering issues when using Outlook 2013. The rendering can be at any time - from reading an email to opening a meeting invite. What I mean by rendering is that the inbox emails and calendar all goes white and you cannot resolve. You have to closed down Outlook and reopen the app.

Many Microsoft forum's have pinpointed a graphics driver issue even though we have updated to the latest drivers already. We even disabled hardware accelaration from with Office 2013 and added a registry key to force this ut see the same issue.

Please can someone help as this is effecting us dramtically and daily. !

Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family problem, HDMI displays only dark blue screen

Hi there,

I recently started having problems sharing my laptop screen with my TV. I used the driver update tool and it says I have the most upto date driver. I have also tested the HDMI cable and it is not that. Also I am pretty sure it is not the TV as the problem occurs even if the HDMI cable is plugged into the laptop and not the TV. Basically my laptop crashes as soon as I plug in the HDMI cable into the port on my laptop. Below is an example of the screen after I plug in the HDMI cable:

IMAG0175.jpg

It will not take any sort of input and stays in this state even after I remove the HDMI cable from the port. I have run a registery cleaning programme as well and that has not fixed it. I would also like to not that a RGB connection does work, which leaves me wondering if this is something to do with HDMI port rather than the driver/graphics chip. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there have been any solutions?

By the way I running:

Windows 7 Professional 32bit Service Pack 1

My laptop is an ACER Aspire 5738Z

It also has an Pentium(r) Dual-core T4200 2.00 GHz

Any help/guidence would be appreciated.

Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Driver update for Toshiba Satellite

I'm trying to install a gesture control device and the installation screen is black.  The support desk for the device said the following:

The black screen displayed in Myo Connect is a rendering issue typically caused by out of date display adapter drivers. From your attached screenshot it looks like your currently installed display driver (8.15.10.1883) is out of date. Can you please try updating the display adapter driver from Intel? I believe the latest version for the Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family

When I try to update from Intel site it tells me, ""The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufactuerer. Setup will exit."

Toshiba is NO HELP... Does someone know how I can update the driver?

Thanks!

when gaming at 1920x1080 1080p fullscreen whenever there is heavy action going on in game cpu gpu usage goes up, my screen would blink once or twice as if turning on/off v-sync but the blink lasts a little longer maybe half a second compared to actually turning on/off v-sync,I tried every connector on my asrock z97 extreme4 hdmi/displayport/dvi/vga.

I was using an older monitor via dvi 1280x1024 native res and no issues, I have tried most of the drivers from intel 3670, 4080, 4156.

I always reformat and install win 7 x64 fresh when trying out new drivers.

When i try to update it from an .exe file it said something like this."The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufactuerer. Setup will exit." There is a video on YouTube on how to update intel graphic card drivers but it shows it how to update it with an .zip file as he had the same problem with the .exe file ,however he had a different graphics card and the .zip file was availible but on my graphics card (Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family) there is nothing like a .zip file availible to download from the orginal website of intel. It  was last updated in 2010 to version 8.15.10.2086 and there is a new version from 2012 to15.17.18.2555.

Thanks!

ArmA 3: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED seems driver related

$

0

Hello,

Ever since ArmA 3 was released as an alpha back in March, it plagued me (and quite a few others) with these apparently random DirectX 11 crashes (either freezing or CTD):

"D3D Error - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED"

"Display Driver Stopped Responding and has recovered."

A few days ago I, acting on a hunch, installed an old driver (15.28.7.64.2867) from October(?) 2012 and was able to play the game without any crashes in area's/maps that were unplayable before.

Working my way up (I have some, but not all drivers released) I found that the drivers up to 9.17.10.2932 (December 2012) perform flawlessly, while 9.18.10.3071 (March 2013) and later tend to suffer from this issue.

So while installing the latest drivers is recommended as a starting point for every glitch, in this case it is not going to get you anywhere: it seems that every iteration has inherited a flaw that was introduced somewhere during that period (December 2012 - March 2013).

I hope this in some way helps you to tackle this issue, and allows me to have my graphics driver up to date in the near future...

These 'tests' were performed, ceteris paribus, on this machine:

Intel i7-3770K@3500|3900 (HD 4000@1150)

MSi Z77A-GD65 (UEFI: 10.11ß)

32GB Corsair Vengeance@1600

Windows 8.1_x64

All drivers were up to date.

Forced 1080i in some DX11 games is causing screen flicker.

$
0
0

Hey Folks,

When loading DX11 games in full-screen at 1920x1080, the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel sometimes forcefully changes the video output to 60i Hz from 60p Hz. As a result, it causes horrible screen flicker. Changing the game to run in windowed mode returns it to 60p Hz and removes the flicker, as does changing the resolution from 1920x1080 to something else. This is only noticeable on the SECOND screen, which is a plug 'n play standard 1080p monitor.

PC Specification:

Graphics: GTX 880m (running driver 337.50 beta - no alternative version available yet) & Intel HD 4600 integrated (running latest drivers).

CPU: Intel i7 4910MQ 2.90 GHz.

RAM: 16GB DDR3.

2nd Monitor: 24" 1080p LED screen operating at 60Hz connected via DisplayPort -> HDMI (though HDMI -> HDMI makes no difference).

OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1.

Why would the Intel drivers be automatically forcing my resolution to 1080 interlaced when the monitor can (and does) support 1080 progressive in every other context?

Thanks.
