Problems with graphics card on Acer Aspire ES1-512
Hi
I bought my Acer Aspire ES1-512 som months ago. I recently installed a game (HotS), and i cant seem to play it on any other video setting than the lowest. When i check the requirements against my system, im informed i need 256mb of video memory, but my computer only has 32mb of dedicated memory (1792mb available memory). I understand that the system supplies apps/programs with the needed memory, but it apparently doesnt give HotS what it needs.
I thought i might update my graphics card driver, but i cant figure out which model it is. When i look at the graphics card properties window, it only says Intel(R) HD Graphics", and no model number.
I can not change my max dedicated video memory in bios either, as that is not included for this computer..
So my question is:
1: Is there a way to increase the max dedicated video memory, and if so, how?
2: Where do i find what model my graphics card is, and what driver do i download?
I also found this post on the Acer forums: http://community.acer.com/t5/Notebooks-Netbooks/Acer-Aspire-ES1-511-and-ES1-512-Video-Driver-Windows...
Is this the driver for my graphics card?
Thanks in advance
Henrik

Dragon Age Inquisition not running in full screen on Optimus laptops
Hello,
it is a fact that since Dragon Age Inquisition has been released in 2014, nobody with an Optimus Laptop with a mix of Intel Iris HD and Nvidia xx0m graphics card has been able to play this game in full screen.
A lot of words have been spent against Electronic Arts and Nvidia, there a couple of official threads on this issue in their respective communities, but nor EA nor Nvidia have ever replied.
A first suspect that the issue could reside in the Iris drivers was coming from the fact that desktop user has an option for scaling override in the Nvidia control panel, which solve the issue, while in laptop users the option is not present, because the scaling is of Intel card responsibility.
I finally had the confirmation that the issue resides in the intel driver when I removed it from Windows and made the Intel card running with a generic Windows driver and the game was finally running full screen.
In my case the problem appears starting from Windows 8 up to Windows 10TP 10049.
I have an Iris 4600 HD card together with a GTX980m
The driver is the latest: 15.36.18.64.4156
but the issue appears with any mix of Intel and Nvidia drivers.
It looks like the problem is not present in Windows 7.
Please Intel have a look into it, as it looks that scaling issues are not new in this forum and there are other cases reported.
HD 4000 triple monitor works in Linux, not Windows
I have a Lenovo T430 with Intel HD 4000 and the Lenovo Mini Dock Plus. I have connected two identical displays using the DisplayPort connectors on the dock and would like to keep the laptop's internal display also active.
I've tried various combinations, but no matter what I choose, I can only have two displays active at any given time in Windows 8 (64-bit). The Intel website shows a third display option will appear in the control panel, but I have yet to see it appear. I even tried updating to the latest driver available on Intel's website without any improvement.
What's very odd is this same laptop and configuration works fine in Ubuntu 11.04 with all three displays enabled. It seems very odd to me that the Windows driver is limited, yet the Linux driver is not.
Is there any trick to force the third display to enable? Is this a problem with Windows 8 or a limitation of the driver?
4600 integrated graphics not working (?)

Intel Graphics Adapter WDDM Driver in Windows Update
Hi, I keep getting prompted to install the above adapter driver for my Intel i7-4790K processor but I thought I only needed to install this driver if I don't have a separate graphics card which I do. Should I install or hide the update?
Thanks
Empire Earth does not working on windows 7
Hello Community,
I want to Play Empire Earth on a Laptop I bought some month ago, but there is a big graphics Problem.
CPU: Intel Pentium 3550M Processor
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600
Intel HD Graphics Driver doesn't support EDID overrides (overscan problems)
The topic title pretty much sums it up... Many monitors don't provide the correct EDID information to the display adapter and so the image appears shifted, under/overscanned and frequently with incorrect colors.
Microsoft has provided the option to create a custom .inf driver and specify the EDID_OVERRIDE key in the registry. As such the problem can be solved by providing your own EDID. This fix works well both for AMD and NVIDIA cards because it solves the problem on the monitor driver level.
But this is not true for Intel HD Graphics. No matter how hard I tried the Intel Driver refuses to accept the EDID_OVERRIDE of the monitor driver and insists on recognizing the display as "Digital Television" and not a simple monitor. As such the image appears distorted/shifted and greenish. The monitor is LG L245WPM and works both with AMD and NVIDIA graphics as well.
My questions are:
1) Why Intel still hasn't addressed this problem
2) Why the Intel driver ignores the overriden EDID for the monitor driver
3) Is there any plan to include such a fix in a future driver or can it be addressed by a registry tweak that escapes me?
Thanks
Intel software seems to think I am 32 bit but I am 64 - problems....
Re i7-4770 3.4 GHz
New machine, lots of bloatware etc. Updating drivers.
Went to download center and downloaded recommended graphics driver from here Intel® Download Center
BSOD reboot close EVERYTHING down and install goes fine.
On Desktop I see a new shortcut "Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel". I click on it: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running". the file is GfxUIEx.exe in system32 folder. So far so weird.
I then get a bit nervous about the diver (if anything performance seems a little slower) and download the Intel Driver Update Utility from Intel® Driver Update Utility. I try to use it and - tada - "igdusc32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error". I bet I need a 64 bit version of this product.
Is there any Intel support in here. What the heck is going on and do I need a new processor? The motherboard has already been replaced and the problems seemed cured....
Grateful for some tech support.
Steve
PS I use the Graphics CP to tweak the image for my HDMI projector which otherwise does MASSIVE overscan. Please can I get this back :-(

No TV Audio through Displayport
So maybe my computer is just finicky, but sometimes when I connect my laptop to my TV using an HDMI cable and an HDMI-Displayport adapter, video works perfectly but I can't get audio from the TV. There is no TV listed under playback devices even when I have disabled devices shown, and the Intel Graphics Properties page recognizes the TV but also says "The Active displays do not have audio capability."
Other times, the connection works perfectly and I get great sound through my TV without any issues at all. How can I get the TV to consistently be recognized by my computer as having audio capability?
Flickering caused by Intel HD Graphics?
I just bought an Asus X454LD a few days back with a little issue.
Originally purchased it last 5/5/15 and after a day of use the screen started to flicker all of a sudden. There are no specific times or programs that could trigger this flicker, it just happens. I assumed it's a hardware defect or something like that.
So 5 days after the purchase, I went back to the Asus store were I originally got it and they immediately replaced it. As I got home and did some updates, the flicker is still there! So I'm suspecting that the problem that causes this is software. The laptop does come along with a discrete GPU (820m) but I believe what's running the actual display is the Intel HD graphics (4400) and it will just be switched to the discrete GPU if necessary. I have provided a picture and a video so you can see it for yourself.
Note: This was a part of a 20min long video I took just to get a shot of the problem (oh, and the video is slowed in speed)
Picture: (notice the desktop wallpaper)
Video (at around 0:20 - 0:25)
Thanks !
Not able to set a resolution below 4k on 4kTV
Hello,
I have a strange bug with the last 3 or 4 drivers with Intel 4600 from a
Intel Core i5-4590T CPU (Win7x64).
I connect the HDMI-out to a 4k TV, but I only want 2k (1920x1080 60Hz) resolution because 4k is
only supported with 30Hz.
But the resolution output is always 4k. If I change it to 1920x1080 the resolution stays at 4k but the
picture is smaller (1920x1080) with a black border around it.
I can scale/stretch the picture in the Intel utility to full screen, but it always stays at 4k.
Even if I try to override it with "Show all settings" in the display driver and select 1920x1080x32 60Hz
I can not get a normal 1920x1080 60Hz resolution. It change automatically to 4k with 60Hz which results in a scrambled picture :-(
The only driver which was working was one from 2014 with manual override.
Is this a known issue ?
Can't update HD5500 drivers. Stuck on old 3947
I have been trying to update my graphic card's driver due to some problems with GTA V. Constant freezes and issues such as in this video: Intel HD 5500 (Broadwell) Gaming - Grand Theft Auto V - 4156 driver glitches and bugs - YouTube
Sadly I'm finding it troublesome to update it to the most recent stable driver, 4170, and I don't know how to fix this. I tried updating both automatically with the executable file and manually with the zipped file.
Intel Atom Z3775 with Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) / Implementing resolution 2560x1080
Hello,
Today I connected my LG ultrawide monitor to my new Notebook with the Atom Z3775 and Intel HD graphics. The Monitor has a resolution of 2560x1080 which I wanted to set up in the graphics properties .
But within the graphics poperties there are only a few preselected resolutions up to 1920x1080 and there is no possibility to add further.
Therefore Í wanted to create a custom resolution with the "custommadeapp.exe", but it the programm simply does not start/open.
I tried it several times as admin and normal user. No Chance.
What can I do to create the Special Resolution?
How can I download a working custommadeapp.exe?
How can I receive the resolution of 2560x1080?
I know that the graphic chip can support 2560x1600, so it should not be a problem.
I somebody having an idea, how I could solve the issue.
Thanks & kind regards
Ricky

Update Intel HD 4000 Graphics driver for Celeron 1007u
I want to force an upgrade of my Intel HD graphics provided by Dell for Inspiron 3521 Celeron 1007u 9.17.10.2867 to the latest 15.36.19.64.4170.
However, the readme for 15.36.19.64.4170 says that the following CPUs are supported:
5th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) Processor Platform (codename Broadwell)
Intel(R) Core(TM) M Processor Platform
4th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) Processor Platform
4th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) Processor U Series based Platform
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Processor 3000/G3000 Series
Intel(R) Celeron(R) Processor 2000 Series
It would appear that Celeron 1007u is not present in any of these categories.
The questions are the following:
1. Are 15.36.19.64.4170 drivers intended to support generic Celeron 1007u?
2. What occurs on a Windows 7 machine that has the Intel HD Graphics uninstalled. Is it possible to boot into safe mode/graphics degraded mode to install the correct graphics?
3. What occurs on a Windows 8 machine if incorrect drivers are installed to the Intel Graphics Adapter (within the context of 15.36.19.64.4170 being incorrect for this hardware configuration)?
4. I am aware that upgrading OEM provided graphics is not recommended. However, if you are aware of any information with using these generic drivers with Dell's configuration it would be useful to know.
Thinkpad I7 64bit 8GB, Intel 4600HD graphics blanks the 3D window when Punch Home and Landscape Design Pro V17.7 attempts to render the 3D model. T42 w/ 3000 graphics, T500 64 bit 4000 graphics , T530 all OK
3 Thinkpads, all running Win 7 Pro.

T520 64-bit, 4 GB, I5 with HD 300 Graphics;
T500 32-bit, 3 GB, Core 2 with Intel 4 series express

T540 3D window is dark when Punch Home and Landscape Design Pro, V17.7 attempts to create the 3D window.
T520 and T500 work fine with same Punch application.
Punch Developers state that they have several issues with the 4600 Graphics and are working with Intel.
Any help from you on this issue would be appreciated.
