Intel Graphics Control Panel does not display content properly

$

Hello,

I've been using Windows 10 for a while and everything was pretty OK (including subject in issue)!

Now when I open Graphics Control Panel, the first screen correctly displays the content (1st image), but when I enter any of the options, like 3D, content is barely displayed (second image).

I've tried cleaning up my PC, softwares, registry, general cleanup and malware scans, updates, etc, even reinstalling the graphics drivers, running the subject in admin mode and trying to open it in my TV screen. Nothing fixes that.

2015-12-01.png

My laptop is DELL Inspiron I14-3442-A10;

Graphics adapter is Intel HD Graphics 4400;

Driver is 10.18.15.4274;

Observations:

Even after updating Windows 8.1 to 10 it still used to work normally;

I've tried to uninstall most of my softwares, for the case it was a conflict;

Please, I beg you not to ask me to do a system recover to any previous point.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I have had an ongoing problem for a month or so now.Every time I boot my laptop I receive error messages that igfx Tray has stopped working.

I have been searching high and low for a fix to this problem with no success.

The first error message gives this information:

Click OK to terminate the program.

I have run the Intel Driver Update Utility several times with admin privileges which says it does not find any drivers.

I have also tried to manually install the correct graphics driver only to be told it is not compatible with my system.

My laptop details are:

Dell XPS 15 with Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
Intel Core i7-4712HQ CPU 2.30 GHz
16 gig RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M (with updated driver)

I would love to get this annoying problem solved so thank you to anyone who can give me some advice.

Minecraft OpenGL issue

$

I've got a problem with OpenGL acceleration, which is requested to play Minecraft (I use version 1.5.2). The program sends an error page that say the graphics driver has to be updated (I have Intel G33/G31 chipset family) but I'm using the latest version of the driver and the issue hasn't been resolved. That game worked properly some months ago, so I've got a software problem, not an hardware one.

The Minecraft error message is:

8159769 [SCALING BUG] Windows 10 / Intel HD Graphics 4600 - Impossible to get rid of 'Black Borders' problem - Stuck at 'Constrain proportions'

=== Device/Software information ===

32 GB DDR3L-1600 G-Skill RipJaws,

Intel Core i7-4710MQ

Intel HD Graphics 4600

Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M 4GB GDDR5

128 GB Samsung SSD (Boot)

1 TB Samsung Evo 850 (Games)

1 TB Hitachi HDD (Data)

Driver Version: 15.40.4.64.4256

OS Version: Windows 10 Educational

=== Problem Description ===

No matter what settings you choose for your display in Intel HD Graphics Control Panel -> Display -> Basic -> Scaling,

When you launch a fullscreen application the setting will be ignored and it will revert back to 'constrain propostions' when enabling fullscreen, then when you alt-tab to desktop it will go back to your selected mode, then you alt tab to game and it will go back to proportions setting again, making it impossible to get rid of the black borders.

The setting only is applicable in Windows 10 Desktop, doesn't work for fullscreen apps.

It worked good in Windows 8.1, I just upgraded from 8.1 to 10.

In windows 8.1 I could game on any resolution without black borders - a nice, full, filled screen.

I think I have the same issue as the sir here: Inter HD Graphics Scaling Games after Windows 10 upgrade

Please fix this ASAP or suggest steps to fix.

Problem does not happen without drivers (Driverless) -> Games run in full screen / fill screen mode at any resolution (so this is not a Windows bug).

Hello,

I just bought a Linx 7 Windows 8.1 tablet. With the soul use of using it as a mini PC connected to my TV. I have it all set up and running well. I have upgraded it to Windows 10. I have installed the latest drivers for Intel HD Graphics. But I have a annoying issue. When in 1920x1080p. The screen is slightly to big. Like the start button is half way off the screen and the clock is off screen. I need to scale it down a bit so it fits the screen perfectly. But I can't seem to do this and am wondering if anyone can help me out. When I open the HD graphics control panel I see this screen.

18bc0c726a2c6f4252b15488a7c9fd14.png

I assume I need to unselect Maintain Display Scaling? But I can't noting happens when I click it. I have not idea what to do. If I lower the resolution down a bit I get black borders. Any ideas what I can do?

Thanks.

No Audio HDMI device from on-board Intel Graphics HD 530?

$

(Windows 10,)

Hi, I have NVIDIA GTX 970 as a dedicated graphics card, and Intel HD 530 on my motherboard. In BIOS I have enabled multi-monitor support so that my TV is connected to motherboard HDMI socket, NOT the graphics card (this is in order to get the BIOS screen on my PC monitor, NOT my TV).

Everything worked fine until a couple of days ago. Not sure what happenned, but under sound devices, I no longer see the HDMI audio from onboard graphics (Intel HD 530). The graphics adapter itself works fine, it is visible in Device manager, and when I switch TV on the HDMI input from PC, there is a "new hardware plugged in" Windows chime, and the TV gets the picture fine, but there is no way to get audio from the PC to TV any more. Up until few days ago, I just used to open "Sound" panel, and select the audio device from Intel graphics as a default device, and the sound would immediately go through the PC, but this is no longer there?

Device Manager and Sound Panel screenshot:

Screenshot.jpg

I tried:

1. Disable/Enable device

2. Installed old drivers

3. Installed latest drivers (20.19.15.4300)

4. Tried "Add legacy hardware" through device manager

5. Installed Intel Driver Update Utility, scanned with it, shows nothing

6. I looked through "Intel HD Graphics Control Panel", no mention of any audio codec / drivers

I downloaded drivers from here

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25484/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-

The infuriating thing is that from downloaded Intel drivers I can see the files that are audio drivers, they are

Intel\DisplayAudio\8.20\intcdaud.cat

Intel\DisplayAudio\8.20\IntcDAud.inf

Intel\DisplayAudio\8.20\IntcDAud.sys

Intel\DisplayAudio\8.20\version.ini

But there's no way for the system to actually SEE the device so that I can point it to these drivers?

Thanks for any tips

Hi,

I am using an Alienware 17 R2 with an Intel HD 4600 and a Geforce GTX 980m.

I have attached an external display Asus MG279Q. This display supports a resolution of 2560x1440 at 144 Hz.

However I can only select that resolution with 120 Hz. 144 Hz is not an available option although it is displayed in the Intel support information.

Hello,

My PC is based on Intel  Core i5-4460 CPU with Intel HD 4600 Graphics. I'm trying to connect via HDMI my Samsung UE32SS5500 TV as a second monitor. However, rthe TV screen is blinking. I've been trying to choose appropriate resolution and frequency via Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, but the screen continues blinking.  I inquired for supported modes in TV Manual, but it doesn't help.

Can anybody suggest something?

Thanks in advance

HD Graphics 4000 and Windows 10

is this website to update my driver legit?

Trying to install driver version 15, getting version 10 instead

$

I installed the "Intel(R) Driver Update Utility" and it tells me that version 15 of the graphics driver for my "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000" card using the "Intel(R) Core i7-3610QM" core is available.  It downloads and installs it.  In the installer's first couple of screens it makes me agree to install version 15 of the driver, but when it gets to the actual copying of files stage of the instilation wizard it installs version 6 of the "Driver Audio" then version 10 of the actual driver.

I reboot as requested, then go into the "Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel".  I click on "Options and Support" then use the dropdown to select "Information Center" and sure enough the "Driver Version: 10.18.10.4276" shows up. NOT the version 15.33.39.4276 I was told I was installing.

I have also tried to install it from this page bypassing the driver update utility; same problem: Download Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows® 7*, 8.1*, 10 (3rd Gen & BYT)

The whole reason I'm trying to update my drivers is to play "Star Wars The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition" I just got on steam. The game runs currently but the skybox isn't rendered so anything that touches where the sky should be tears and bleeds horribly.  The fix if you are running nvidia drivers seems to be to turn on trilinar filtering, and turn off anti-aliasing. But I can't seem to get that to work with my intel graphics card.

Intel(R) HD Graphics 2000 issue - Screen Distortion & Discoloration - Any Suggestions?

$
0
0

I'm getting pretty frustrated with my wonky display, so if anyone has a suggestion to help me, you'll have my undying gratitude and virtual chocolate-chip cookies in thanks! :-)  And if that's not enough for you there's always my firstborn child.

So, the Problem:

My display has bright, horizontal magenta lines across the top of the screen. The longer my computer is on, the more the problem grows; more lines appear, they get thicker, and brighter, and they go further down the screen until the top third of the screen is barely visible through the distortion.

By then, there are also vertical lines along the right-hand (my right, the monitor's left) side of the screen - though that appears more as a smear of colour, which extends further at the bottom of the screen than it does at the top. If the computer is left on too long, the entire screen is distorted, and the only way to fix it is to shut down the computer and let it rest for a bit before turning it back on.

My (rather slipshod) Temporary Solution:

Adjusting the display settings (colour, saturation, brightness, hue, etc.) minimized the problem, but the adjustments took a lot of colour and brightness out of the display; it's very muted and dull now, and it's harder to see things on the screen. Not to mention, the distortion is still there; it's just minimal (relegated to the very top of the screen and only extending about a half an inch down), and not very bright or visible anymore - rather than bright, magenta lines, it just looks like simple distortion.

Is there any way to fix this? I'll post the graphics card info below. While I recently upgraded to Windows 10, this problem was occurring for a few months before that.

I know that it's a graphics issue, not an issue with my monitor, because:

1) Even if I turned my monitor off when I needed to leave the computer for a bit, the distortion would have worsened by the time I came back and turned it back on. However, if I shut down the computer (rather than having it sleep so that I can get back to what I was working on before I was interrupted), when I turn it back on, the distortion isn't so bad. It's better the longer the computer is off, and it makes no difference if I turn the monitor off or not.

And 2) Adjusting the graphics settings helped clear up the problem somewhat. However, it's not completely gone, and the new settings make it hard (not as hard as before but still difficult) to use the computer; so I'd really like to put the settings back to default again. I'm just trying to find out if there's a better fix for this issue.

Like I said before, I'd be desperately grateful to anyone who can help me. I'll throw a parade in your honour and film myself as a one-woman marching band going down the street and post it to Youtube or something.

Need help with Iris 540 driver continually crashing on Surface Pro 4 i7/16/256

$

I have a brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 4, with an i7 CPU, 256GB SSD, and 16GB RAM. The Iris 540 driver crashes within a couple minutes of bootup, ever single time. I'm not the only one with this issue, acording to the Microsoft support boards. (I know that others are experiencing an issue where the Intel display driver will crash when trying to resume from sleep, but this is not that problem.)

Any of the four Intel Iris 540 display drivers I have found will crash within a couple minutes of bootup during use. To be more clear, the screen goes black and has to be powered off by holding the power button; there is no recovery or error message. The only stable driver I've managed to use is the Microsoft Generic Display Driver, which seems to be doing everything in software, avoiding the Iris chipset altogether.

Is anyone else having this problem, or just me? Did I get bad hardware? My SP4 is an i7/256/16, the model just released on 11/25/2015. Here are the drivers I have tried:

Build Driver date
--------------------
4236  11/20/2015
4236  11/18/2015
4308  10/27/2015
4256  07/17/2015

Here is the output from DXDIAG when the driver is installed, but has not yet crashed: http://pasted.co/98e68195

I have a thread open on Microsoft's support forums as well, but all they've done so far is to confirm that this is not expected behavior. (Duh!)

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfpro4-surfdrivers/sp4-iris-540-display-driver-keeps-crashing-not-the…

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Mick
