Confusion about my graphics driver

$

Hello!

Ich have a "Intel HD Graphics 4600-Chip" and use windows 10.

Because I havea problem with thehardwareacceleration of my browser, I want tolook for thelatest driver for this.

Unfortunately, I haveproblemsto find out theversionof theinstalleddriver:

The Intel-homepage offers a driver version "15.40.10.64.4300".

Aboutthe currently installeddriversays the "windows 10-device manager" and the "Intel Graphics Control Panel": Version 20.19.15.4331.

The "Intel-Driver-Update-Utility" presented this results:

"Installed Version: 15.33.38.64.4252" and offers the same Version to download.

NowI'm confused. What is right, what is wrong? Do I have installed the latest driver or not?

Many thanks!

I7-6700 - 530 GFX 3D bluray playback broken, serious issue...

$

New HTPC build using an I7 6700, Z170 chipset, 2 displays in extended mode (Dell2413(for desktop/web use etc..) - LG 65" OLED (for movies).

Tried Motherboard driver, previous Intel and latest Intel drivers

On the LG passive 3D display - 3D playback is broken, like left/right is messed up, flicker on camera changes like transparent flashes across the screen, 3D distant objects are in front instead of behind, eg. bird in the far distance and a near solid object like a building, the bird can be seen flying in front of the building when it should be hidden and behind it :/ it's so bad 3D bluray is unwatchable and just makes you dizzy

I also have lip sync issues with 3D and apparent in 2D movies, I also use PDVD15 Ultra updated to the latest patch.

I use win 8.1 with emby WMC integration and PDVD 15 as the external player for bluray's.

I might add that the issue also seems related to the Intel graphic driver control panel setting for scaling - under display settings and can get 3D to work somewhat intermittently (although any change to playback, like pause/FF or rewind, immediately breaks 3d and the issue returns), sometimes clicking back or forward on the powerdvd timeline bar can regain/lock sync and 3D works correctly.

Sometimes if I loose exclusive audio mode - reported by powerdvd at the movie start options screen, 3D works but no HD audio.

If I leave the intel graphics control panel open on my Dell monitor, showing the scaling settings for my 3D extended display (LG), when I stop a 3D movie and the display re-syncs from 3D mode back to 2D mode, I can see the scaling setting change from "maintain display scaling" to "maintain aspect ratio" on it's own, if I try and restart the 3d movie, the display re-syncs to 3D mode but the movie is totally broken again, if I change the setting back to "maintain display scaling" and then try 3D playback it seems to just work (sometime a reboot is required), unless as said playback is interrupted, sync is lost, so to add the scaling setting is not sticking.

Even this is somewhat buggy and sometimes does not work at all, rarely I can get some watchable 3D playback - although short lived, I also think the audio speed fluctuates as it seems to go in and out of lip sync.

Further research shows this driver issue has been ongoing since last June 2015 and still not fixed - I basically have a broken HTPC that is currently an expensive desktop PC

What is happening with this and Intel R&D, are we going to get a fix soon??

Thanks.

I uninstalled my Intel HD graphics adapter, thinking it was interfering with my AMD Radeon graphic card. It wasn't. Now You Tube videos take 10 seconds to load. I removed my CMOS battery for an hour, hoping to reset the BIOS, but there is no mention of graphics at all in my ASUS BIOS. i want the integrated graphics card back.

Also, I downloaded the latest Intel graphics drivers, but they will not install. "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software. win64_153336.

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Intel HD Graphics 4400 Windows 10

I have an Acer Aspire E5-571 with intel core i5-4210U @ 1.70GHz with Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 with 8GB DDR3L RAM upgrade, a Samsung 850 evo 500GB SSD upgrade, and windows 10. Whenever I launch a game or whenever a call is started in Skype this "Display driver stopped responding..."pops up and the program quits responding and I have to restart the program.  I have yet to be able to call on Skype and have yet to play any of the games I have gotten. I have updated it to the newest drivers that it suggests, what the websites suggest, what the manufacturer suggest, and what several driver finding software suggest, and I still get the same message. I am currently running Driver Version: 20.19.15.4300 Driver Date: 10/1/2015.  I also changed the TdrDelay time to 10 to try to let the program have enough time to load. I even reset and moved my RAM to different slots which was a suggestion that I found in my reading through some other forums and watching some videos. I also found that some people fixed the problem by disabling there Antivirus software, which I also tried, and also did not work. This problem has only started happening since I upgraded to windows 10, so I have a feeling that that has something to do with it. (Also my computer just recognizes my graphics as Intel(R) HD Graphics Family instead of Intel HD Graphics 4400, is it supposed to be recognized as that? how do I fix that?) Please help! I think it is a driver so if you can point me in the direction of the one I need to fix it or have Intel start on the fix that would be great, or if you have an answer that I am missing that I need to fix that would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

[9024844] Custom resolution not working

$

I emailed Intel Customer Support Service and they refer me to this forum because the agent say it will have the correct exposure to intel engineering department. (request # 8001214860)

The problem is Intel Graphics driver for HD 4600 (and presumably others too) have a broken custom resolution for Built in LCD. No matter what setting you put into it, it will always custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

I tested it on many different laptop with eDP (embedded displayport) like Alienware 17, Asus G751JM, Asus Q551LN, Lenovo Y50-70, Razer Blade 14, MSI GT60 Dominator Pro, and Gigabyte P34 and they all say custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

To establish the fact that bandwidth is not the problem, I tried creating a custom resolution at native res (1920x1080) at 59Hz (default is 60Hz) and it says custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity. To test it further I downscale the resolution to 1600x900 @ 59Hz and it still gives the error so I conclude the problem is with the driver itself.

I tried the oldest and newest driver from the OEM and the one on Intel website and they are all broken.

The problem is NOT ISOLATED on a laptop model or a manufacturer but the Intel Graphics driver itself.

In fact if you verify the problem by testing it on ANY laptop that has an Intel graphics and try to create a custom resolution that is 1Hz less than native (like 59Hz) and it will give you the same error.

So why does it matter? Almost every single gaming laptop that is being released are NVIDIA Optimus Enabled (Hybrid Graphics where Intel Graphics is handling the display) and it prevents people from changing the refresh rate of the display. As an example the LCD panel found on Asus G751JM-BHI7T25 uses LG LP156WF4 SPL1 which is the exact same panel found on Asus G751JY that comes at 75Hz by default, but we cannot change the refresh rate due to broken Intel Custom Resolution even though the LCD panel itself is more than capable to handle it.

Refresh rate is a huge feature as evident on monitors getting released (like BenQ XL2430T, Asus ROG Swift, Acer Predator, etc...) and if you ask any gamer that has tried a high refresh rate monitor they will tell you how much big of a difference it is and because of this issue, any gaming laptop that has Hybrid graphics (Intel Graphics enabled) is a HUGE deal breaker.

[Edit by Bryce@Intel]: Changed title to reflect investigation bug# and title.

Old title: Intel driver is completely broken (custom resolution)

How to capture Color Profile and apply to multiple system

We have a custom RGB profile that we need to apply to our line of product using Windows 7x64, Intel graphic 4600. I can modify the profile and apply the prefered color setting on one system but how do I capture that and automatically apply to new systems sharing the same hardware and operating system.

I've poke into the registry but could not find a place where these color profile are stored.

Intel HD 4600 crashing in windows 10

I keep getting lockups followed by a windows error reporting that that driver crashed and has recovered.

It seems to crash far, far more often when trying to play fullscreen content on the net (YouTube, Vessel, etc)

It also crashes randomly when opening the start menu. This is on a brand new activated install of Windows 10 on a system I built for myself.

Choppy video/flickering

$

Hello if I play YouTube video in full screen mode, the video is very choppy, i.e.. it intensively makes random short loops during playback. The choppy effect is not presented in windowed mode. Similar problem with playback in standalone video player (h264) using Intel ActiveSync. Occasional flickering during playback introduced by very short black screens between consequent frames. Not so intense as in YT fullscreen. This seems to occur with EVR Custom Present renderer. Shortly tried other renderers and they seem to playback correctly.  Anyway EVR custom present was playing the video flawlessly in the past. YT in full screen played smoothly as well before. Because both Flash plugin container and my video player have assigned to use Intel GPU I impute the problem to used GPU or driver from Intel. Any feedback about possible source of the problem / diagnostics will be welcome.

Using Intel HD4600 and latest driver for Windows 8.1 64bit (15.36.28.4332). Firefox and plugin container is 64bit.

BTW. when I open Intel display control panel, Options and support, Informational panel, the control panel crashes. Could be related to the problem.

Intel HD Graphics driver installs older driver than specified in driver description.

I'm trying to install the latest Intel Driver for 3rd Gen Core processors (version 15.33.42.4358), but the installer (which I am 100% sure is the correct one, for Win 7 64-bit) ends up installing version 10.18.10.4358. Is this intended? My idea for why this may be occurring is that the driver package recognizes, for whatever reason, my laptop is not compatible with the very latest version and defaults to the last known compatible driver that exists in the same package.

My system: Sager NP9150 (Clevo P150EM rebranded), Windows 7 64-bit, I7-3610QM, AMD HD 7970M, 16GB DDR3 RAM. This system uses AMD Switchable graphics technology (Enduro).

Intel HD Graphics 530 driver crashing

$

Hello,

I got a new Asus Windows 10 64-bit laptop that has both Intel HD graphics 530 and nVidia GeForce GTX 960m dedicated graphics. When browsing the web, especially while using Google Images, my computer freezes up for a second, unfreezes, and I get a notifcation saying the Intel HD graphics driver crashed and recovered itself. This happens multiple times per day and there are no driver updates yet from the Asus website as this is a new model of laptop.

I've also had a couple of blue screens due to "VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR" that I believe is related, as it freezes up while browsing the web much like the driver crashes, but then it goes to a black screen for a couple of seconds and then the blue screen.

i7 6700k - 530 HD displays artifacts, flickers, goes black, etc. etc.

Bought a new computer and upon finishing Windows 10 Pro installation, noticed that the display connected on the 530 keeps showing artifacts-flickers every now and then, sometimes it goes black for 1-2 seconds then comes back.

When I thought it was the display, I tried it on the old computer, and everything worked perfectly.

I thought that it was a problem on the memory, tried with 1 stick (after running memtest) and the problem still existed.

Updated the drivers to the latest - still problem persists.

Finally went to google the problem and found out I am not the only one with the GPU flickering - it's so dissapointing.

Any ideas?

Feature Request - implement EDID override

$
0
0

Hello,

it would be nice if the Intel Graphics driver would support overriding EDID information like described in this document from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487330

Why is this needed?

In a common HTPC (multimedia PC) setup with a PC, AVR (audio video receiver) and a television, the EDID information stored in the receiver & television that is passed to the PC determines the video and audio capabilities like: supported resolutions, supported audio formats etc ..

The problem is that very often the system only "sees" the EDID information of the television, and not that of the receiver, and so you don't get support for audio formats like DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD that are supported by the receiver ...

The latest Sandy bridge CPU and corresponding chipset support all these sound standards, but they often not useable cause of these EDID problems.

Actually it really does not matter what video card / integrated graphics you use, NVidia and AMD graphics have the same problem, but their drivers

allows people to override the EDID information like is described in the above linked document from Microsoft.

Please implement this stuff, shouldn't be that hard to do, for one of you senior driver programmers it's probably just a few hours of work ...

Thank you

Christian

Intel SST Audio Device Driver & Realtek I2S HD Audio Codec

Good day,
I and many people with a processor Intel Atom Z3735 tablets have problems with the above drivers for Windows 10. For example, my sound driver "stopped" working (you must this test in real life on real HW/speakers) after upgrade to Windows 10 v.1511 (10586) on tablet GoClever Insignia 800 Win (16GB) and others no name tablets. Resolves to someone this problem? It would also be good to create a category for problems with audio drivers on this community. Thank you in advance for your answer. (Sorry, my english is not good)

Intel NUC6i3 with Intel HD 520 audio over HDMI issue

$

Hi,

I got some frustrating issues with my Intel HD 520 and Audio via HDMI / mDP.

[Description]

The Audio over HDMI just stops/breaks under some circumstances:

1. Starting some games in fullscreen will instantly break audio over HDMI / mDP. Window Mode works just fine.

2. Using Kodi in Fullscreen when switchin between different refresh rates (24p, 50p, 60p). It can happen after some videos or even after just one video.

There is no error or anything reported back to me. After this issue happend the software will hang / stutter and freezes when closed down.

Some games work just fine for hours without any issues. I've got no idea why that is.

When starting the Game "Faster than Light" in fullscreen sound breaks 100% of all times.

Playing some old backups of my GameCube games with Dolphin emulator and DirectX as Renderer will also lead 100% to this issue.

The Games "Kerbal Space Program" and "Dead Space 1" worked always without any issues.

[Hardware]

Its a Intel NUC6i3SYH with Integrated Intel HD 520 Graphics and no NV or AMD Card.

It is equipped with one "4 GBKingston ValueRAM DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM CL15-15-15" which was tested with Memtest86+ and no issues found.

The OS is installed on an Sandisk SSD.

There is no LFP and one EFP connected. The NUC is connected to an Onkyo TX-SR507 (connected to an Samsung TV).

The Onkyo Receiver and Samsung TV are older but I never had any problems like this (at least 20 different devices and also a older NUC5i3RYH).

[Software]

The OS is Windows 10 Pro. I also tested Win 10 Home (with same result).

I tested all available Bios versions (0024, 0028, 0033). The issue was always present.

Driver versions tested were 4300, 4332 and 4356 from support site. Also tested the ones installed via Windows update (I believe it was version 4332 too)

Kodi versions are 16.0 beta4, beta5 and rc3. No difference between them found.

Game versions were all the latest available on steam.

Intel CUI screenshot is added.

[Configurations]

Its a single display configuration with 1080p 60hz under windows. Refresh rate might be different in Games or Kodi (which leads to the problem above I think).

The system runs from AC.

[How to repro]

1. Install Windows 10 from scratch and update drivers and system

2. install NUC6i3SYH Graphics drivers from support site

3. Setup Intel Audio to 5.1 (2.1 and other settings should lead to the same result; at least for me)

4. Install Kodi 16.0 (beta4, beta5 or rc3) and "Faster than Light"

5. Setup Kodi 16.0 as seen in screenshots

6. Switch between videos with different refresh rate. At some point audio should stop working.

7. Start Faster than Light either in Fullscreen or Window Mode. In Window Mode sound should work fine.

8. Switch to Fullscreen and sound stops working

[Logs]

I will add SSU, DxDiag and DispDiag later on.

Screen flickering after intel HD 5500 drivers install

Hello,

Using windows 8.1 , just bought a new laptop, everything works great, I'm even writing from the laptop.

But when I try installing the drivers from lenovo support (intel hd 5500) , screen starts flickering and I can't see nothing, the only way to use the laptop is to restore it to the last point..

I tried like 3-4 versions of the drivers, yet nothing work.

The NVIDIA drivers work without any problem, but intel just gets  flickering...

Using windows 8.1..

Intel HD 530 causing "Windows Explorer" error in "System"

$
0
0

I just built a new computer. I am a novice. I learn enough to build a computer and then forget it all once it's up and running until I want/need a new card or box or something like that. Well, I fired this one up just fine and was pleased. But, as I began installing drivers, I saw one odd quirk. When I install the Intel HD Graphics 530 driver, it causes an error, but only when I attempt to go into the "System" page under "Control Panel." The error is, "Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working," and it says it's restarting then takes me back to the desktop. If I uninstall Intel's HD 530 driver, the error goes away. I had to uninstall the HD 530 driver just to authenticate windows. I've tried every driver (including the beta version) that Intel has on its support page.

Now, my first approach was to attack this by trying to determine what was wrong with Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) and I tried looking at the registry and all that, but nothing worked. Then, I uninstalled all my drivers and through trial and error determined that it was this video driver that was causing the problem. It could be some conflict between the two, but why would it only occur in "System"?? It's a strange error and I cannot figure out how to make it go away. I haven't seen it anywhere else and it may have no real practical effect, but I hate ghosts in the machine like this and would prefer to get this resolved before I start loading additional software, etc.

Here's my build:

Windows 7 x64

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H-GSM DDR4 with onboard graphics (no separate video card)

CPU: Intel Core Skylake i5-6500 with Intel HD Graphics 530

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2133MHZ 16gb (2x8gb sticks)

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500gb

ODD: SilverStone slim slot; SST-SOD02

PSU: EVOGA 650 GQ modular

Case: Raijintek Styx

Intel HD Iris 5100; I can only get 23.976Hz or 24.000Hz - not both

$
0
0

When selecting 23Hz or 24Hz; they both give me 23.976Hz.

I've tried to set up a custom resolution on 24Hz (3840x2160), that works perfect, but now the 23hz (23.976) is overwritten by the new custom setting in addition to the new 24Hz. So creating a custom 3840x2160@24Hz gives me 24.000Hz on both 23Hz and 24Hz selection.

I want to have 23Hz selection to be 23.976Hz, and 24Hz to be 24.000Hz. How can this be done?
