Is my HD 530 Graphics dead?

$

0

Okay, so about an year ago i built my skylake pc.(without graphics card)

Specs:

Asus maximus viii hero board,

8gb kingston memory,

corsair cx600m power unit,

120gb intel ssd,

Core i7 6300 processor

Everything worked fine (except that issue with screen randomly turning black for a couple of seconds) till yesterday - what happened is my monitor stopped recieving hdmi signal from pc (i checked my cable on tv and it turned out to work fine, i believe that monitor is also ok). After about 20 restarts "log in" screen finally showed up. Colors were corrupted and flickered, after entering my password everything went black (video file attached).

After some hours constantly restarting my pc i managed to see desktop again. At that moment whole screen was covered in strange red dots and lines (same thing in bios if that matters). The first thing i did was downloading and installing latest driver from official intel website. After that i restarted my pc, and now the only thing i see is black color, i can't even see login screen.

Is my hd 530 dead?

Graphics Chip H81M Express Image Problem

My Motherboard is a MSI H81M-E34.  I am using the Intel Graphics Chip H81m Express.  The Graphics Driver Version is 20.19.15.4331.  My Operating System is Windows 10.  From time to time my image becomes scrambled and unreadable, causing me to reboot.  What can I do to correct this?

[9024844] Custom resolution not working

$

I emailed Intel Customer Support Service and they refer me to this forum because the agent say it will have the correct exposure to intel engineering department. (request # 8001214860)

The problem is Intel Graphics driver for HD 4600 (and presumably others too) have a broken custom resolution for Built in LCD. No matter what setting you put into it, it will always custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

I tested it on many different laptop with eDP (embedded displayport) like Alienware 17, Asus G751JM, Asus Q551LN, Lenovo Y50-70, Razer Blade 14, MSI GT60 Dominator Pro, and Gigabyte P34 and they all say custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

To establish the fact that bandwidth is not the problem, I tried creating a custom resolution at native res (1920x1080) at 59Hz (default is 60Hz) and it says custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity. To test it further I downscale the resolution to 1600x900 @ 59Hz and it still gives the error so I conclude the problem is with the driver itself.

I tried the oldest and newest driver from the OEM and the one on Intel website and they are all broken.

The problem is NOT ISOLATED on a laptop model or a manufacturer but the Intel Graphics driver itself.

In fact if you verify the problem by testing it on ANY laptop that has an Intel graphics and try to create a custom resolution that is 1Hz less than native (like 59Hz) and it will give you the same error.

So why does it matter? Almost every single gaming laptop that is being released are NVIDIA Optimus Enabled (Hybrid Graphics where Intel Graphics is handling the display) and it prevents people from changing the refresh rate of the display. As an example the LCD panel found on Asus G751JM-BHI7T25 uses LG LP156WF4 SPL1 which is the exact same panel found on Asus G751JY that comes at 75Hz by default, but we cannot change the refresh rate due to broken Intel Custom Resolution even though the LCD panel itself is more than capable to handle it.

Refresh rate is a huge feature as evident on monitors getting released (like BenQ XL2430T, Asus ROG Swift, Acer Predator, etc...) and if you ask any gamer that has tried a high refresh rate monitor they will tell you how much big of a difference it is and because of this issue, any gaming laptop that has Hybrid graphics (Intel Graphics enabled) is a HUGE deal breaker.

Intel HD Graphics 520 Constant WHEA-Logger Event ID 17 Errors in Event Log on Windows 10 Home

Hi, I am having a constant problem with Event Log  errors, in addition to screen flickering or instability or flickering when using f.lux. Does anyone else have this issue?

I also need to point out that no action or program is needed to cause this error f.lux alone is not the sole cause, but it does make it worse. (it was happening before I even installed it). Laptop is less than 9 months from Release date, and have only owned for 2-3 months. Came with Windows 10 pre-installed from factory - not an upgrade. This issue is prevalent on Tech forums and can be found in Google searches as well. See below reply for additional Info (text limit met)

Intel HD Graphics 530: 3840x2160@60Hz on HDMI 2.0 is not chroma 4:4:4 but only 4:2:0

$

Issue: As soon as the Intel HD Graphics driver is "Enabled", HDMI 2.0 UHD 3840x2160@60Hz chroma automatically degrades to 4:2:0 !

(When the Intel HD Graphics driver is "Disabled", HDMI 2.0 UHD 3840x2160@60Hz chroma come back to 4:4:4, but with a few more %CPU used)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 TH (BIOS: F4)

CPU: Intel i7-6700K

RAM: 2x8Go G.Skill Trident Z 3200 Mhz

HDD: Samsung 950 Pro 256Go NVMe

GPU: Integrated HD530 of the i7-6700K (HDMI 2.0 output via MegaChips MCDP2800)

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bits (fresh USB install. No other software installed)

Intel HD Graphics Driver: 10.18.15.4279

Monitor: iiyama X4071UHSU-B1 (HDMI 2.0)

HDMI cable: High Speed HDMI cable supplied with the monitor.

How to repro:

   - Install fresh Windows 10 64 bits OS.

   - Set display to UHD 3840x2160@60Hz.  ---> Chroma is OK 4:4:4.

   - Install Intel HD Graphics Driver   ---> Chroma is automatically 4:2:0 when 3840x2160@60Hz (it's 4:4:4 when 3840x2160@30Hz) !

The technical specifications of the motherboard and the monitor indicates they both can do 3840x2160@60Hz chroma 4:4:4 with 8 bits per color via HDMI 2.0.

Why does it fail when Intel HD Graphics Driver is Enabled ?

How can I remove 40 Hz modes from my Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600's list of display modes ?

$

Dear forum readers and contributors,

I've started playing Crysis Warhead on my laptop recently and noticed the game always choosing a 40 Hz mode while in fullscreen instead of the usual 60 Hz. While the Cryengine is the one to blame on this issue, it certainly would not happen if there were no 40 Hz modes available, that's why I want to do this as a workaround.

I'm aware of the borderless windowed solution which I tried already, but I have some issues with it, such as the pointer shifted one millimeter or so above the pointed area, and the game window being completely black when the game starts. I have to go fullscreen then back to windowed to gain an image. That's why I'm sticking to a true fullscreen with the 1920x1080@60 display mode.

Is there any way to do this, even temporarily ? Removing only my native resolution (1920x1080@40) would do the trick too. If there are shim-based solutions forcing the game to go 1920x1080@60, that's OK as well. I have Optimus and an Nvidia GTX 880M.

Thanks for your insights,

Windows 10 Ver 1607 64 bit driver for intel HD graphics 3000

$

Hi All

I have a HP dv6-6016tx laptop with 2 display adapters in the display manager:

  1. AMD Radeon HD 7400M
  2. Intel HD Graphics 3000

When I first updated to windows 10, the screen would go blank for about 45 seconds while starting up and resuming from sleep. I fixed this by setting the EnableULPS registry key to 0. I think this just disabled the Intel Driver.

When I updated to Windows 10 ver 1607, I found that AMD Catalyst had been uninstalled (possibly not compatible) and the blank screen problem returned.

Now when I open device manager the driver details of Intel HD Graphics 3000 are:

Driver Version: 9.17.10.4229 Dated 05/27/15 Provided By Intel.

The driver on Intel website is for Windows 7 & 8 Only

Date: 05-Jun-2015 Version: 15.28.24.64.4229 (Latest) OS: Windows 7, 64-bit*, Windows 8, 64-bit*

I want to know whether I can install the above driver on Windows 10 ver 1607 (64 bit) Build: 14393.321 and whether the blank screen problem will go away.

Thanks is advance for your reply.

Virtual display bug?

$

Hello,

I found a probably a bug with the Intel graphics driver,

I could copy the same problem with different NUC type of devices,

including Bay Trail, Cherry Trail and Braswell platforms,

they all have the same problem, when the problem appears, the screen goes black, leaving only the mouse cursor on screen,

if you are lucky enough, you could blind-click into the system, then display could come back but it would be the extended desktop screen,

the primary screen is gone.

  1. Display OK at the beginning
  2. Unplug HDMI cable from the system
  3. Now put system to sleep
  4. Plug HDMI cable back to the system (while it's still sleeping)
  5. Now, wake up the system
  6. Problem appears by 100% – a non-exist virtual display – "Generic Non-PnP Monitor" device now appears in device managernonpnp.jpg
  7. Video output mode being changed to extended desktop automatically: Virtual display + the external display, and virtual display takes over the display priorityvirtual.jpg
  8. To recover, unplug HDMI and plug it back, display back to normal (Virtual Display – Generic Non-PnP Monitor disappeared), no more extended desktop, and primary display go back to the external display as it should

I recently purchased a computer, and prior to buying it, I asked if it would support dual monitors, since that is what I need.  I was assured that this computer supports dual monitors.  The graphics card is listed at Intel Q45/Q43 chipset.  The online specifications for this chipset indicate that it supports 2 monitors.

However, when I tried to set up my second monitor, the only option available to me is "Single Display."  See the pics below.  What am I missing?  Do I need to download an updated driver?

eye strain

hello,

I have a Notebook with Intel Core i7 4710 - Intel Graphics 4600 and external Nvidia Gforce GTX 850M for about 2 weeks now. I connect the Notebook on two different places per HDMI with nearly three year old lg monitors. With my old Notebook (Intel Core2Duo and Nvidia Gforce 9500GT) I had not any problems with this two monitors. However when I connect one of the two monitors with my new Notebook I get eye strain and headache. Of course I use the right resolution FullHD and tried out different brigthness and contrast adjustments in intel graphic properties. OS is Windows 7 Prof x64  and the newest drivers are installed. Version:15.33.22.64.3621
Nearly two months ago I purchased an other Notebook with Intel Core i7 4700MQ - Intel Graphics 4600 and Nvidia Gforce GT755 M. I had the same problem there and so I sent it back, because I thought that the Notebook has an defect. I tried out Windows 7 and Windows 8 and had the same eye problems in the two different OS.
Now I do not really know what the problem exactly is, because I have these problems with two different Notebooks on two different external LG Monitors and the integrated Displays of the Notebooks. But I thinkt the problem is the Intel HD 4600. Maybe that there is something wrong with the driver.
Do you have any ideas about this? Couse  I can't purchase and send back new Notebooks all the time.

Sorry for my bad english

Asus X556UA with Intel HD 520 - graphics disappointing

$

A friend of mine recently bought the above laptop model and I've got to honestly say that we have found the graphics disappointing. First and foremost the font and most of the GUIs (especially Microsoft Word) were very small. We increased the text, apps and other items size from 125% (recommended) to 150% (and even tried 175%) in Windows. Of course the brightness level can be adjusted. I was advised NOT to use the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel but must look into this now (the driver is Intel HD Graphics 520). The laptop screen is matte and I just looked at this article which has given me an additional explanation about this potential dullness problem: http://www.howtogeek.com/181727/glossy-vs.-matte-lcds-which-should-you-choose-when-buying-a-display/

Nevertheless I have a Samsung SMB1930N monitor which is also matte and do not have any complaints about resolution, brightness, contrast etc.

In many ways the decision has now been made but is there a way to improve things using the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel? I don't have any instructions for this and just don't want to take a 'boys with toys' approach to this problem. I am no expert in this at all but have seen a video on youtube showing tuning for maximum performance. It's a little fast and I would need an explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKZsKPzDBIc

I also understand that that Intel has a Driver Update Utility. Is this the correct link to use and an advisable action: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

Many thanks for any advice as I am no expert in adjusting graphics drivers. Also I would be looking for a solution that is reversible. My experiences with adjusting DPIs in Windows XP/7 were not good and in one case I had to do a clean install which needs to be avoided at all costs.

5554898 Forced 1080i in some DX11 games is causing screen flicker.

$

Hey Folks,

When loading DX11 games in full-screen at 1920x1080, the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel sometimes forcefully changes the video output to 60i Hz from 60p Hz. As a result, it causes horrible screen flicker. Changing the game to run in windowed mode returns it to 60p Hz and removes the flicker, as does changing the resolution from 1920x1080 to something else. This is only noticeable on the SECOND screen, which is a plug 'n play standard 1080p monitor.

PC Specification:

Graphics: GTX 880m (running driver 337.50 beta - no alternative version available yet) & Intel HD 4600 integrated (running latest drivers).

CPU: Intel i7 4910MQ 2.90 GHz.

RAM: 16GB DDR3.

2nd Monitor: 24" 1080p LED screen operating at 60Hz connected via DisplayPort -> HDMI (though HDMI -> HDMI makes no difference).

OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1.

Why would the Intel drivers be automatically forcing my resolution to 1080 interlaced when the monitor can (and does) support 1080 progressive in every other context?

Thanks.

Hi, I observed that since version 15.40.28.4501 of HD Graphics 520 driver is no longer 'enabled' if Hyper-V is enabled. Intel Control Panel does not show up and the system behaves as if no graphics drivers has been installed - there is no acceleration. Driver versions prior to this release - beta as well official behave fine.

Please fix this issue in forthcoming releases.

Hi,
I love this game and actually purchased it last year when it was released with steam, I just play skirmishes with the computer. I upgraded my laptop(MacBook pro retinal to one with HD540 graphics but the display driver crashes when ever I get a few battle cruisers going with several fighters and frigates or large battle scenes.

other things work flawlessly like mass effect, oblivion and starcraft 2. I have tried the following with the steam app but with no luck

I have reinstalled the drivers. I am currently running 20.19.15.4501
I verified the game integrity,
set TDR delay
disabled TDR
reinstall microsoft visual c++ 2012
ran as administrator
let the troubleshooter run as windows 8 and windows 7
turned all the graphics down to minimum
tried different video resolutions
changed intel HD graphic settings:
Application optimal mode -diabled
multi-sample anti-aliasing -turn off
Conservatave mophographical anti-aliasing -turn off
general setting -performance

This is on a Lenovo yoga 900s running
intel Core I7 6560 CPU
16 GB ram
samsung 512 gb ssd

I also had the same problem with a dell xps 13 with the same CPU.
I also tried the GOG.com version and I experience the same problem. I never had problems with this game on HD4000 graphics

Then i tried to install the updated version of the device driver from this site, but it shows the pc doesn't meet the minimum requirement for software. Then i installed an older version of device driver that brought  the freeze problem again. So what should i do? i already uninstalled it,,, Anything regarding BIOS ?
