Intel HD Graphics: disables HDMI audio device when connected device off

$

0

I have Win7 x64 running on ASRock B75M with Intel Celeron LGA1155 + integrated Intel HD Graphics + HDMI. I've installed the latest intel drivers for graphics and audio. But when the AVR isn't powered on the intel driver seems to notice that no device is connected over the HDMI output and it gets deactivated.

I've set screensaver to never start but this won't change anything. As soon as I power on the AVR which is connected over HDMI the HDMI audio device in Win7's sound settings gets enabled again. I set it as default and it is correctly activated.

How can I prevent the driver from disabling HDMI audio device? Is this related to any power saving setting? In the driver or BIOS? For example deep render standby?

appreciate your help

Problems with Intel graphics 4000 and hp monitor resolution

$

I just bought an HP Envy H8 (i7 and Intel Graphics 4000) and attempted to hook it up to my monitor - an HP LP30365 (30 inch widescreenLCD  vintage 2008).  The graphics will not drive the monitor at a resolution greater than 1280x800 no matter what I do.  If I attempt to set a custom resolution at  1920x1200 the application reports that I am exceeding the bandwidth allowed.  Now, I have another recent i7 computer with a Radeon graphics card that will drive the HP monitor at 2560x1600.  I also have a Dell monitor (recent vintage) and the HP will drive that at 1920x1200. The toxic combination seems to be the HP computer and the HP monitor.  I have updated to the most recent driver available on at the HP web site.  No improvement.  I have tried to update to a more recent driver on the Intel web site but the application refuses to complete and sends me back to HP.

I have gone so far as trying to manually copy the monitor definition (ICC) files but that didn't accomplish anything either.

I am more or less at my wits end - does anyone have any ideas about an methodology or avenue that might force the Intel graphics to drive the monitor at a reasonable (1920 or better) resolution?

OH - FTR - I am using the same DVI cable for all the connections just to remove one more variable.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Intel HD Graphics Quick Sync Issues (crashes, freezes, frame drops)

Hello. After updating drivers (Version 3165) I can't use Quick Sync anymore - video recording application (Mirillis Action! 1.14.3) keeps crashing every time I start recording. No crashes when start recording with previous version of Intel driver (Version 3071) but recording may abort due to random freezes and is not as smooth as used to be, frame drops. Worked just fine before I decided to update drivers for both integrated and discreet cards

My CPU: i5 3570K with HD 4000

My GPU: Radeon HD 7770 (Catalyst 13.4 driver)

Screen goes black during graphics driver install on Windows 8 Pro

When I tried to install the graphics driver for my i5-4430, the screen went black and I had to use to Windows restore bring it back to normal. The same thing happened when I used the device manager to install the driver. I think I have to use Windows Update to install the driver but then Windows says that "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" was the latest driver. Do I have to change some settings on Windows Update to make it work?

Here is my system

Problem with HD Graphics and HDMI connection

$

Dear All,

I have the following problem after purchasing a new Lenovo Notebook with an Intel HD Graphics Chip:

Initially, my external display (Viewsonic VX2260wm via HDMI) was not recognized properly by the system. I then updated the Drivers installed on the system to the latest version from the intel website (8.15.10.2559 according to the Graphics manager info center) and the display was working fine. However, in the moment I re-started my system, the display stopped working again. That means that I neither got a signal on it nor did I see it in the Windows Utility or the Intel Utility.

When I re-install the driver, the screen is working properly again (even using the settings I put in the first time) UNTIL I restart.

Any ideas what could cause this?

Some Facts:

- External Screen: Viewsonic VX2260wm

HDMI connection problem with Lenovo B570. TV no longer recognizes input.

My Lenovo B570 and Samsung LCD TV will no longer couple under normal operating circumstances.

- The laptop and TV used to connect well. The laptop screen would flash and auto-resize the resolution and then appear on my TV. Piece of cake.

- Over the last several weeks, I started having problems with the cloning process. Sometimes the TV would clone; sometimes it wouldn’t. I’d unplug and reinsert the HDMI (in the laptop), and it would clone after a few tries. Sometimes I would restart the computer and that would sort out the problem. Recently, however, I simply cannot get the TV to clone the laptop. It just says "No Signal" after briefly searching for a signal.

- I attempted fixing the problem using multiple HDMI cables and different HDMI ports on my TV. When I plug in the HDMI cable into my computer, the TV says "Searching for Signals" for 10-15 seconds then switches to "No Signal". When the cable is unplugged, it says "Check Signal Cable". I also tried it with a different HDMI cable. Thus, I'm assuming the problem isn't with the cable.

- I restarted the computer in safe mode with the HDMI plugged in, and lo and behold, the cloning works. Thus, I'm assuming the problem isn't the HDMI port on either my laptop or TV.

- I restarted the computer normally, and the cloning works until the login screen. At that point, the TV switches to "No Signal".

- I attempted reinstalling the driver for the Intel HD graphics 3000. The cloning works immediately after the driver is installed, but upon reboot, the cloning doesn't work. Note that the laptop resolution doesn’t auto-resize like it used to.

- I attempted reinstalling the drivers for the Intel chipset. That didn't work either.

Does anybody have some input that might help me resolve this problem?

Hello Graphics Communities!

For a very long time now we've been trying to track down, diagnose, and correct an issue that seems to be happening all across the board with Intel® Graphics.  Users, for various reasons - seem to have issues with OEM systems (and Intel® NUC's) losing their display for different events.

  • Installing new drivers
  • Rebooting
  • Computers idling, going into sleep or hibernation
  • Other random events

We have run into a stumbling block in fixing this issue, and that is that we are unable to reproduce the symptoms above.  We have ordered exact-matching systems, displays and cables - and matched our configurations to those of the users having problems, and we are completely unable to reproduce the problem.  The issue is complex, but in this particular case - it stems from the fact that two users with the same configuration are not guaranteed to have the problem, it varies from user to user, system to system, display to display.

What we at Intel® are asking now though is 2-fold.  If you are one of these users (or a business) experiencing a consistent black-screening issue as mentioned above, we would like to procure your COMPLETE system configuration.  This means, we want you to ship us (at our expense) - the System (desktop or laptop), display (TV, monitor) AND the cable (hdmi, dp, dvi, vga) used by your system when it starts to have a blackscreen failure.  If you are willing to do this, you should be aware that we will keep your system for an extended period, and will compensate you by replacing your setup.

NOW!  Even if you are not willing to send us your system, and would just like to inform us that you have a black-screen issue.  That is okay too. Even if you have already submitted this info in some of our other black-screen threads, feel free to submit it here too.  Please submit the following information into this thread so that we can continue to document all possible instances of it.  Just copy and paste the below list and put in relevant information (completely!).  *NOTE* If you have not already done so, please update your BIOS and Display Driver to the latest version available.  We cannot accept a report of a failing configuration that is not up to date.  Additionally, if you are running your display through a 3rd party device such as a projector or an AV/R (receiver), you need to show that the problem still occurs without the extra device connected (a direct connection from system to display is required).

Are you willing to send your system to us? (Yes/No)
Is your system a laptop or desktop?
If desktop, is it custom built, or manufactured?
If desktop, what is the make/model of your motherboard?
What is the make/model of your system? (COMPLETE model name required)
What is the model of your CPU?
What is the make/model of your failing display(s)?
If laptop, is your built-in display failing? (Yes/No)
What is your operating system?
Is it a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system?
What display driver version do you have installed?
What type of connection are you using? (HDMI, VGA, DP, DVI?)
What happens that results in the blackscreen failure?

Any/all information is valuable.

Thank you for your information & cooperation!

Hello,

I have installed Windows 7 on an ASUS UX32A with intel HD graphics 3000. I installed the latest driver from the Asus Website. Now there are appearing squares filled with random colors. This problem  appears especially in Firefox, but also in other applications (also system applications). I attached a screenshot where you can see the problem. Most of the time, it is possible to scroll down the graphics errors with the rest of the website and the disappear when you scroll up again. Does anyone have an idea what that is?grafikfehler2.png

Custom Resolution on Intel HD 4600

I recently bought a Dell XPS 27" All In One machine.  I have a second 27" monitor hooked up via HDMI (the only output this PC has), and I cannot for the life of me get it to display at 2560x1440.  I know that this is supposedly a limitation of HDMI, but I have 4 other Dell 27" AIO machines running them over HDMI.  What I had to do was set a custom resolution of 2560x1440 29MHZ and all works great.  The 4 machines that are currently working use the Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver and have the option for a custom resolution.  Is there any way I can get this to work on the 4600?

Need Help!

I got a H87 motherboard with CPU i5 4570 , Windows 8.

I tried to connect to Dell 27" U2713HM monitor by hdmi, but I cannot set the resolution to 2560x1440.

I have double check the motherboard manual which said it support up to 4k by hdmi.

and I upgraded the Intel HD graphic driver to the newest version.

But I still could not set the resolution to 2560x1440.

In the Intel graphic control panel and Win 8 resolution setting, it only show up to 1080p in the resolution pull down menu.

I could only selection resolution up to 1080o only.

Would anyone can help me, how can I set the resolution to 2560x1440, which should be supported by the Intel HD 4600.

Thank all for the help

Intel Graphics HD for Pentium Processors Driver Download missing?

Hi there,

I was looking to download an updated driver on my Windows 7  Home Premium (64-bit)Pentium with Intel Graphics HD. After using the download center I found the appropriate link to the download for the driver(it had been updated 3/5/2013), but when I click on the download icon and it takes me to the download page, but the option for the download itself is missing. I tried entering information as if I had a Core processor just to see if I was overlooking the driver location on the page or something, but the Core processor drivers are listed clear as day on the download page.

Am I just overlooking something, or has this driver been removed for some reason?

Any help is appreciated.

Intel HD 4000 No Display after loading Windows 7

I have a new build. Its a 3770k with an Asrock Fatal1ty Professional and 16Gb of Mushkin memory.

The computer has been working great all week. Then all of a sudden today after switching my display via a button on the front from VGA to DVI between my old rig and my new rig the screen no longer displays on my new rig. I also have 2 keyboards on my desk and may have hit a hot key and changed something, I'm not sure.

I have tried Windows Key + P to change to projection mode and get nothing.

After rebooting the screen works until after the windows 7 loading icon disapears then the screen goes into power save mode.

When booting into safemode the screen works fine.

When changing the resolution and then booting back out of safemode the screen does not load.

When deleting the Intel HD 4000 driver and restarting then the screen will load.

After reinstalling the Intel HD 4000 Driver the screen nolonger loads.

I don't know why its doing this but I am no longer able to use the HD 4000 with my intel driver installed. Which renders onboard video pretty much useless for anything but basic functions.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the driver and also the monitor and its driver as well.

Nothing seems to work.

Is there some kind of keyboard shortcut to change display ports? I'm currently on HDMI and my board has both HDMI and displayport. I have no way to test if its working with the display port. Also I am using an HDMI to DVI cable already.

This is just really odd seeing how everything was working preffectly fine then all of a sudden, nothing just blank.

I can hear the computer load, even the sound. I can even type and login, but I'm unable to see anything.

Also I have tried to set onboard video as default in my bios and still nothing will load as long as the Intel HD4000 driver is installed.

I have tried two different drivers versions, they both do the same thing.

Any suggestions would be greatfull thanks.

GMA3600 Linux Support.

Hey,

I know that their is practically no Linux support for any PowerVR based chipset. But I have a netbook that came pre-installed with Linux, and because of Intel not being bothered to make drivers that have 3D Acceleration we are stuck using GMA500 2D drivers on outdated systems. It's bad enough that you will not develop drivers despite the community pleading for them, but you will not even release the source code to the existing drivers (like the GMA500 driver). If you made the driver opensource then people from the Linux Community and other developers would most likely be able to develop fully working drivers with 2D and 3D Acceleration.

PLEASE Intel listen to your community. You sell us a product with Linux then abandon us. You cannot tell us to go to the Linux Community because we cannot develop drivers from complete scratch without you opening the sourcecode. You cannot tell us to goto Imagination Technologies (The people who developed the GMA3600 and licensed the chip to Intel) as they say it is Intel's responsibilty.

I urge people in need or these drivers to share your thoughts and show Intel that we need these drivers to use our netbooks.

HD4000 incompatible with NVIDIA GTX 770M

My MSI GT60 ONC (i7-3610QM and NVIDIA GTX670M) has replaced with NVIDIA GTX770M and got TDR error, screen locked 1024x768 resolution.

I noticed HD4000 control panel didn't appear even install lastest Intel graphics driver. If I try install NVIDIA driver, after rebooted I'll got black screen.

Next, I unlocked BIOS and changed EFI compatible to Legacy ROM, HD4000 came to work. After installed NVIDIA driver got BSOD when run 3D application or access informations from vga card (eg. GPU-Z).

Someone else at TechInferno got same problem too. But others install one into laptop which is Sandy Bridge (no optimus) it worked fine!

First I guess my 770M broken then I tried install it into my friend's laptop which is Sandy Bridge no optimus system. It worked fine too.

I'm not sure IvyBridge Optimus system cause this problems, someone help me please!

HDMI Problems with Windows 8 Media Center

$

I just upgraded my HP dv6t-3200 laptop from Win7 to Windows 8 Pro (64 bit) and am encountering problems with the HDMI port when using Windows 8 Media Center to play recorded tv shows.  The video starts playing but immediately begins repeating the first few seconds of audio, then stops playing after about 5 seconds and says video file cannot be played.  The problem only happens when playing the videos through the HDMI port to my TV.  If I unplug the HDMI cable and watch the videos on the built-in laptop display, everything works fine.  The HDMI graphics also work fine for normal desktop display, but won't play the media center videos properly.  It appears to be a bug in the Intel HD graphics driver.

My adapter type is "Intel(R) HD Graphics".  My chip type is "Intel(R) HD Graphics (core i3)".

If I try to install the latest driver 15.28.8.64.2875, it says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."

I found a way to trick the driver into working.  If I unplug the HDMI cable, launch media center and start a video playing, then plug in the HDMI cable, it will continue playing the video.  I also discovered that "Windows Media Player" will play the recorded tv videos through the HDMI port but "Windows Media Center" will not.

Hi, so I installed the latest drivers for my HD2500 GFX, I noticed they fixed the issues with the CYBCr resting itself but now my monitor does not go to sleep, it just goes to a black screen and stays powered on, anyone else have this problem, any fix available apart from using an older driver that have the CYBCr issue.

Cheers.
