How to download the new beta driver for Skyrim Remastered.

$

The new beta driver for Skyrim Remastered is not able to be downloaded on my computer. When trying to download, I get the error message "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date" and there is no way to bypass this as far as I know. I also went through the instructions on trying to install the ZIP file instead, but that still doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can download the driver? My computer specs are: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz  2.71 GHz. RAM: 12. System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64 - based processor.

Intel Windows 15.45.14.4590 Drivers STILL do not support EDID overrides.

$

Custom resolution support (custom refresh rates, EDID overrides etc) has not been working on Intel graphics.

Despite the release of drivers which supposedly allow EDID overrides, the functionality is still broken.

Here is the timeline:

  • 15.40.32.64.4568 test driver was posted by Bryce@Intel in this forum thread ([9024844] Custom resolution not working (Bryce's has since edited his post so you wont find mentions or links to that driver anymore)).
    • This driver apparently works with 3rd party EDID tools, but only supports 4th gen in Windows 10 and 5th gen in Windows 7-10. (per the release notes)
  • 15.45.14.4590 (21.20.16.4590) (the vulkan driver release) was noted by Bryce@Intel to finally support the "use of 3rd party EDID applications for internal and external panels on Intel platforms." for 6th gen in Windows 7-10 and 7th gen on Windows 10. (see this screenshot of his post, in case it is edited again: http://s7.postimg.org/civhz5muz/screenshot_2017_02_23.png )
    • The problem is, this driver still does not allow EDID overrides

To be more clear - EDID override functionality advertised in the vulkan 15.45.14.4590 (21.20.16.4590) drivers still does not work.

As a result, Skylake and Kaby lake users (and users on other Intel core w/ combinations of Windows that aren't supported by the 4568 driver) still cannot apply EDID overrides either with a 3rd party utility, or with the tool built into the intel graphics control panel.

  • Does the 4590 driver release intentionally not support EDID overrides, and was Bryce was simply reporting a miscommunication?
    • If that is the case, is intel still planning to support EDID overrides with the next driver release?

This is still a very important issue for many users and obviously being unable to change the monitor's refresh rates is still a disappointment for video watching/gaming/overriding broken monitor EDIDs.

PROBLEM

Latest intel drivers do not support EDID overrides (custom refresh rates/resolutions) on Skylake with Windows 7.

Expected: successful EDID overrides on both built in, and external monitors.

Result: the intel driver still refuses to accept overrides, on either panel.

HARDWARE

Dell Inspiron 15 7559, BIOS 1.2.1 (latest), 2x8GB DDR3-L 2133, i7-6700HQ (stepping 3 revision R0)

I tested

- HD530 with 4590 drivers installed, nvidia optimus enabled (gtx 960m)

- HD530 with 4590 drivers installed, nvidia drivers uninstalled (optimus OFF)

With the following monitors:

- Internal 1080p, 60hz display (LG LGD04B9)

- External 1440p, 60hz display (BenQ BNQ801B) over HDMI

All combinations failed to allow custom resolutions.

SOFTWARE

Windows 7 sp1, 64 bit.

HD530 driver version 21.20.16.4590, vBIOS version 1024.0

GTX960m driver version 376.60 (I tested both with the nvidia drivers installed and without them installed - both showed same behavior, see above)

I used both

- Built in custom resolution utility (which did not work)

- CRU by ToastyX v1.3 (which did not work, even after a reboot)

CONFIGURATIONS

I tried to add custom refresh rates (61, 63hz) to

- Built in panel ALONE, with external panel disconnected. Both the intel built in tool failed ('max bandwidth exceeded'), and the CRU tool failed (after applying settings, the new custom refresh rate does not show up as an option in Windows)

- Built in panel, but with external panel connected. Both the intel tool & CRU failed.

- External panel. Both the intel tool & CRU failed.

In all cases, the laptop was connected to AC power and when the external panel was tested the desktop was set to 'extend'.

REPRODUCE

  1. Grab a skylake laptop with Windows 7.
  2. Install the 4590 drivers which Bryce@Intel indicated supports EDID overrides.
  3. Grab the 3rd party EDID utility (CRU: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU ) and try to add a custom refresh rate.
  4. Follow the directions (restart graphics driver/reboot)
  5. Attempt to find refresh rate you added (Screen resolution -> advanced settings -> monitor tab -> Screen refresh rate [xxx]) and be disappointed but not all that surprised.

Alternatively, try to use the custom resolution/refresh rate tool in the intel control panel. Even if you set a refresh rate of 1hz less than default, it spits out the 'bandwidth exceeded' error.

There are countless threads on this topic, the first one even being marked as 'fixed' when the driver problems still in fact haven't been fixed.

I need an updated driver... my computer shows that the driver is current, but I am having disconnect issues when playing World of Warcraft. I am not able to install the driver utility program.

This is what the support tech at Blizzard said:

"In your MSINFO you are constently getting Live Kernel Events associated with your intel video drivers. These errors are related to igdkmd64.sys crashing. This would cause your computer to stop recognizing your video processor."

OpenCL support for Intel Iris Graphics 6100 (5th Gen)?

$

Hi, I'm trying to find information on OpenCL support for Intel Iris Graphics 6100 (5th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors).

According to Apple, this chipset/GPU supports OpenCL 1.2:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202823

However, it appears that there's a problem with OpenCL implementation on Intel Iris Graphics 6100,

As judged by recent performance testing (MacWorld graphic below, 2015 model MBP):

macbook_pro_late2016_benchmarks_opencl-100692189-orig.jpg

13-inch MacBook Pro review: Too many tradeoffs | Macworld

There is Intel data saying that 5th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors can support up to to OpenCL 2.0:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/graphics-for-5th-generation-intel-processors/intel-iris-graphics-6100.html

However in one implementation (Github issue), there seems to be an issue with the lack of floating point support ("cl_khr_fp64" extension):

https://github.com/cdeterman/gpuR/issues/11

Whether this is a deficiency in the chip, or an intervening software layer (e.g. ViennaCL), I cannot say:

http://viennacl.sourceforge.net

Any discussion or assistance appreciated!

Intel Graphics HD 630 - scaling issues

$

Hello, I have a system with Keby Lake cpu and with Intel Graphics HD 630. The problem is scaling.

I found that it has blur issue too when scaling via graphics driver. I have a 4k monitor and when using 1080p resolution its so blurry even though 4k is exactly 4times of  1080p so it should scale perfectly without any blurred, fuzzy image.

Do you please know about this issue ? Is there any tweak to make this better?

ig9icd32.dll error and crash

Hello,

I used to have old Samsung laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphic card and everything was fine. I was using this GitHub - Hotride/OrionUO: Orion - Ultima Online graphic client, using OpenGL for rendering client without any problems and crashes. Now I bought new GB-BKi7HA-7500 mini-PC with Intel HD 620 graphic card and this program does not work properly as it used to. Every time the client is crashing and, what the developer said to me that it happens because of ig9icd32.dll file. All my drivers are up-to-date. Furthermore, there are 2 more software which are not working because of the error - "Can't find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver". I have attached an archive of Orion crashlogs.

Many thanks,

Turn on flashlight (L by default) for more flickers.

If you get back to options and just set dynamic lights to normal, bug disappear

Additionally i tested on 4352 and 4501, no changes - so i think game never able to run without of bugs on Intel iGPU.

Feature Request - implement EDID override

$
0
0

Hello,

it would be nice if the Intel Graphics driver would support overriding EDID information like described in this document from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487330

Why is this needed?

In a common HTPC (multimedia PC) setup with a PC, AVR (audio video receiver) and a television, the EDID information stored in the receiver & television that is passed to the PC determines the video and audio capabilities like: supported resolutions, supported audio formats etc ..

The problem is that very often the system only "sees" the EDID information of the television, and not that of the receiver, and so you don't get support for audio formats like DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD that are supported by the receiver ...

The latest Sandy bridge CPU and corresponding chipset support all these sound standards, but they often not useable cause of these EDID problems.

Actually it really does not matter what video card / integrated graphics you use, NVidia and AMD graphics have the same problem, but their drivers

allows people to override the EDID information like is described in the above linked document from Microsoft.

Please implement this stuff, shouldn't be that hard to do, for one of you senior driver programmers it's probably just a few hours of work ...

Thank you

Christian

I have a Dell 17R 3 with a graphics amplifier and a 1070 NVidia graphics card and intel 530 I have the latest drivers for all.  Lap top settings are when lid is closed do nothing  set for duplicate monitor when the lid is open and monitor on it will duplicate 1/2 when I close the lid it goes back to only 1 screen showing. If the I disable the 530 when  close the lid the display setting shows both screens. To watch videos in full screen 530 needs to be disabled. This is not a Microsoft or Dell problem since by taking the 530 out of the picture all works fine. Also when lid open and second monitor on in duplicate 530 does not detect second monitor says there is only the one

Intel HD Graphics 530 w/ Asus Z170-A screen corruption

$

Okay, so I've been having a persistent issue with my PC, where Intel HD Graphics seems to be misbehaving, sometimes even in basic Windows desktop. After running into a dead end trying to solve the issue, I asked the computer store where I bought the mother board for advice. They directed me to this forum, telling me it's a known issue, and it might not have a solution at all.

So, that gets me here. I have a fair bit of disbelief into the idea that this issue does not have a solution. Surely there must be configurations where Intel HD Graphics 530 works just fine? Otherwise I'd greatly question the rationality of the product.

But let's see where we get here. Here's all the info of my situation:

Category

Questions

Answers (N/A if not applicable)

Description

Provide a detailed description of the issue

The screen becomes corrupted within seconds or minutes from launching certain apps. Light games (like "Inside") are a good example, or just launching Google Maps (reproduces with Chrome, Edge and IE) is enough to make the screen go haywire. This is the most trivial way to reproduce the issue. Attaching a screenshot from Google Maps as a reference. Basically anything that stresses the iGPU at all seems to make the system more or less unstable, including watching a video.

Occasionally I can see the issue on plain Windows desktop too, but with the current drivers quite rarely. With some driver versions I get constantly corrupted image even on desktop.

When this happens, the graphics driver will also become prone to crashing completely. Usually it can recover, but sometimes it goes into full blue screen situation.

Also it is clearly not a cable issue as I can see vertex explosions; this does not occur inside an HDMI cable. (See the image from Google Maps)

And I have setup every performance setting I can think of to default (Just about everything in BIOS to default basically), so there should not be any potential OC problems (but please review the logs I'm attaching in case you can find something).

Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool tests all pass with flying colors. I will attach the logs.

I have tested with several different Intel HD Graphics driver versions. Currently I am running the latest driver from Asus own support web site, which seems to be the most stable so far. Still far from acceptable.

I have tested with an external video card, and with that the problem goes away instantly.

Also the problem goes away if I set the display refresh rate to 30 Hz, at least with Google Maps. But that is obviously not an acceptable solution. NOTE: This could imply a problem with the HDMI cables, but the character of the corruption does not support this idea. See attached screenshot.

Please place an X to the right of the option showing how often you see this issue using specific steps. (Ex: 'Every few times a game is started it flickers.' <- This would be "Often")

Always (100%): Extremely easy to reproduce within seconds with Google Maps.

Hardware (HW)

Brand and Model of the system.

Asus Z170-A Motherboard

Intel Skylake HD Graphics 530 (i5 6600k)

Hybrid or switchable graphics system?
ie Does it have AMD or NV graphics too?

Nope, only iGPU

Make and model of any Displays that are used to see the issue (see note2 below).
LFP
= Local Flat Panel (Laptop panel)
EFP = External Flat Panel (Monitor you plug in)

EFP

Through DisplayPort and HDMI adapter. But as stated before, the character of the corruption is clearly occurring the 3D rendering as well, not just in the erratic patches in the image, so it cannot possibly be caused by the cable or the adapter.

How much memory [RAM] in the system (see note2 below).

8 gigs DDR4 running at stock clock rate. XMP disabled. Memory modules tested and fully working.

Provide any other hardware needed to replicate the issue.
ie: Cables&brand, cable type [vga, hdmi, DP, etc], dock, dongles/adapters, etc

Hardware Stepping (see note1 below).

Software (SW)

Operating System version (see note2 below).

Windows 10 64-Bit

VBIOS (video BIOS) version. This can be found in “information page” of CUI (right click on Desktop and select “Graphics Properties”.

1046.0

Graphics Driver version; for both integrated Intel and 3rd party vendors (see note2 below).

21.20.16.4542

SW or Apps version used to replicate the issue.

Google Maps on Chrome, for instance.

Configurations

Single display, clone, or extended (see note2 below).

Single Display

Display resolution & refresh rate setting of each display (see note2 below).

3840x2160 or 1080p @60 both replicate the issue. Lowering refresh rate to 30 Hz or below removes the problem.

AC or DC mode, i.e. is power cable plugged in or not?

Yes, this is a desktop PC.

How to repro

Please provide steps to replicate the issue.  These steps are very crucial to finding the root cause and fix.
A screenshot to illustrate the issue is a huge plus. A video of the failure is even better! Attach to the post or provide the YouTube link.

  1. Zoom and scroll around in Google Maps with Chrome, Edge or IE. Especially in a town view at a zoom level that renders some 3D models of the buildings. I always replicate it with with downtown Helsinki but presumably reproduces with any similar location
  2. Worth noting that there are driver versions which cause the issue constantly even on Windows desktop, without having to do anything but open some Windows Explorer windows.
...

Okay, so there you have it, hopefully I remembered to mention everything. I have tried quite many things to solve this but nothing seems to be biting.

Mini Displayport on Intel Nuc only works after pluging out and in after boot

$

I have an Intel NUC 5i7RYH connected to a Samsung 27" monitor using a Minidisplay-to-HDMI-cable (the mini HDMI of the NUC has fallen off somehow). When I boot the machine I have no display until I unplug the cable from the NUC and plug it in again.

It is a workaround but not one I can instruct my wife and kids to use.

I use Ubuntu 16.04 but I don't think it is Ubuntu. I have been testing with a laptop using the same cable. The laptop has a dual boot with both Ubuntu and Windows 10 and it works every time. So my best guess it is the NUC.

Though with a cold boot I have no display at all, making a warm boot I have managed to get into the BIOS - which I have updated to the most recent version (036) - and set the primary display to the Mini Displayport. This still does not give me display at a cold boot.

Multiple Monitor Mode not working... PLEASE HELP!!!

I have Windows 10, on a Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD 80QQ, Core i3, with Intel HD Graphics 5500, trying to connect a Sansui flat screen to my laptop with a VGA to HDMI adapter connected to the second screen (because the HDMI hole is broken) and HDMI cord connected to the laptop. When I right click on the desktop, and left click Graphics Properties, it opens the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. I click on Display, and Multiple Displays, and it won't let me do anything other than Single Display. I went to Options and Support>Support, and tried to download the latest Graphics Driver. It wouldn't let me, gave me an error. I press the windows key and P simultaneously, and click Extend, and it doesn't do anything. According to intel.com, "All Intel® graphics products support extended desktop mode across two displays." I find this extremely hard to believe, given my difficulty with this particular Intel product. Can someone please help me do extended monitor mode and thereby confirm that Intel's quoted statement is actually true?

Intel HD graphics 5500 artifacts and stopping Windows 7 to start normally

Hi,

I have problem with my Intel HD graphics 5500 driver on my Dell Inspiron 5558 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U.

Some days ago my display started to show artifacts when I scrolled down and up, so I updated my driver to the latest one from Dell site. The updated drive caused problem with starting my Windows 7 64 bit. The Windows did not start at all, blue screen is appeared on startup.

So I uninstalled the Deall's driver and install the latest driver from the Intel support. Windows cannot start again. If I uninstall the driver in Safe mode, the Windows starts normally, but the video performance is very bad.

I have tried to reinstall the Windows and to install Windows 10, but when I install the driver on a fresh clean system, the problem also appears. Windows cannot start at all.

How can I resolve this issue?
