Since I've updated to Windows 8.1 every time I press the power button to wake the computer from sleep, this happens:

The screen goes dark for a few seconds

then it starts working and I get the following message in Desktop:

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

It's very annoying and time consuming, since I'm turning the tablet off and on (actually sleep/wake up) constantly during the day. (This doesn't happen when turning on the device when it's completely shut down though.)

I have:

Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator

Current Driver Installed 9.14.3.1170

P.S.: I should also mention that I disabled Windows lock screen by editing the registry - so when woken up, it goes directly to last opened app/program - no lock and login screen. But I think that this shouldn't matter, since I've done this on Windows 8 (same computer, same graphics card) and everything worked fine.

How can this be solved?

I recently upgraded my Lenovo Ideapad to Win8.1 64bit from the factory default 8.0 64bit. I suspect as part of the upgrade the graphics driver has been updated as the graphics properties app has completely changed. Device Manager tells me I'm on version 10.18.10.3316 which aligns with the latest 8.1 64bit driver from the download centre.

The laptop is primarily for work but in my down time I have enjoyed playing Dungeon Siege which I installed via Steam. Since the upgrade the game runs in a small window in the centre of the screen (not in a window, the rest of the screen is black around the window). As it's quite an old game the max res it runs in is 1024x768. Before the 8.1 upgrade the game would fill most of the screen. Also the graphics in the game keep breaking up as I scroll around.

Normally in these cases I would install the latest graphics drivers and this fixes these types of glitches but as I'm already on the latest version not sure if I should consider rolling back to a previous version.

Any advise would be great.

I have an Problem with my HTPC. The System is an fresh installed (no Upgrade from 8.0)  Windows 8.1 (64 bit) System.

Hardware:      Asus H87M-Pro Board with latest Bios 0906

                    Intel i5 4570s with hd4600 Graphic

                    LG 60LA7408-ZA TV

The TV is direct connected with an HDMI cable (no HDMI switch or amplifier).

Software:       Windows 8.1 64 bit German with Media Center (all drivers up to date)

                    Intel Graphic driver Version 3316 (installed from zip in Device Manager)

The Problem: If I start the PC (TV is on), all works fine. If I change the Input on the TV or Power off the TV, the Sound is lost. After reconnect, the Audio Settings show the HDMI Sound as not connected. Reconnecting is not possible. Disconnecting  HDMI Cable and Reconnect Cable does not work. If i Reboot the PC, all works fine.

I have checked this with 3 HDMI cable, the original Driver from ASUS, the Driver from Windows Update, the Driver from your downloadsite and with the driver found here on board.

I am an engineer at muvee (www.muvee.com) and we have been informed of a bug that occurs on our software muvee Reveal X. Our software, an openGL based video and photo editing tool uses a texture pool so as to save VRAM when displaying photos and videos to the screen. This works fine on all the graphics cards and drivers we have tested on so far. However recently, we have been informed that once a photo has been texturized, there seems to be a bug in the driver such that it is not cleared properly for the next image to be texturized.

I would gladly assist you guys with product keys and sample data should you wish to try to reproduce the bug which we strongly believe lies with the intel HD 4000 driver.

So i have intel HD 3000 chipset and windows 8 installed on bootcamp but when am playing games such as WOWi get 2-6 fps during raids and bg's

which is making it impossible to play the game. The graphics look nice but the FPS are so low and sluggish it's making the game unplayable. But on my MAC side the game is smooth at 30fps with no FPS drop during raids but i you my windows partition mainly cause i do alot of server and IT work but i also like the gaming on my windows but i need to fix the FPS drop on WOW HELP!

after installing the drivers update through windows update and successively through the intel site (9.17.10.2875) using the driver update utility the game fonts were pixelated and the characters were not visible anymore.

Had to revert to v8 (8.15.10.2761) drivers.

I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 today and I'm running into some issues. When I run GTA 4 (haven't tested any other games to be frank) - which ran fine before the update - it crashes after a while with a BSOD. The error message being:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (igdkmd64.sys)

This query in Google has led me to the information that the HD Graphics driver is crashing. The next thing I did was install the latest HD Graphics drivers. This has not yet fixed the issue.

What I just noticed while writing this is that Hardware Info 64 does not recognize my Nvidia GPU. This could mean that GTA 4 is running on the HD Graphics GPU? So at this moment I'm reinstalling my Nvidia drivers.

So I reinstalled (clean install) the Nvidia drivers. I ran GTA4 which ran for a little while longer, but still throws a BSOD after a while.

In any case, this should ne be happening, right?

For those wondering; we did not have a confirmed ETA on when this driver would be available.  Without an ETA, those of us who normally respond in the Community are unable to say whether or not a driver will even exist, let alone when it will be available.  Sorry we had to be quiet about it !

I have an Asus H87M-E motherboard. 4th Gen Intel HD 4600 iGPU on i4670K chip.

I installed both the latest drivers from the Asus site and the Intel site. In both cases, the HDMI audio device goes yellow after turning off the receiver or projector and turning it back on. Effectively losing all audio.

I have seen this posted several different places and I have yet to see a response from Intel.

This is a compelte show stopper for all HTPC users.

I have problems with the Graphics Media Accelerator not responding when going in and out of sleep mode on two different CloverTrail-based tablets; the Elitepad 900 from HP, and the Lenovo Tablet 2.

Both tablets show prolonged "black screen" when going out of sleep as well as a message in the corner notifying me that the driver has stopped responding and has recovered. sometimes even multicolor static on the screen before recovering.

The Elitepad also suffers from the "classical" Event id: 41 power kernel failure. I've tweaked the power options at no avail.

So.. I realise from this chart: 4th Generation Intel® Atom™ Processor-Based Tablet Overview that technically Windows 8.1 is unsupported on CloverTrail. It is though really frustrating considering the fact that we've been waiting for 8.1 so long and have purchased the tablets because of the update.

So what im asking is. Are you guys planning to update the chipset to make it win 8.1 compatible? Atom-based tablets and win 8.1 rocks

Im trying to set up dual screens on my computer and my computer cannot seem to find the second monitor to display on.

The monitors I am using are

ViewSonic VA903b and ViewSonic VG2021m

When I use one of the screens on their own its fine. and both screens are VGA.

Outputs on my computer are VGA, DVI and HDMI. So I have brought a adapter to use the second monitor in hope that it works but it doesn't.

I still have both adapters (HDMI - VGA) and (DVI-VGA) and nither work,

As I say if you plug each screen in VGA-VGA on their own they work so it isn't the monitors.

I recently updated my drivers and it wont work for it doesnt know the 2nd monitor is there!

If anyone can help me fix this problem by telling me what I need to do (Step by step)

or link me to what I need to download or buy then that would help a lot

After my update to windows 8.1 i have noticed a problem with my graphics...

My lap is sony vaio vpcsa4c5e and i am using intel hd graphics 3000 with amd radeon 6600 M.

Currently my screen is blured and it seems that windows is not using the intel driver...

I was reinstalling all drivers and nothing get better. The version od driver is: 9.17.10.3223 - it is the latest driver which i was able to instal on my comp.

I have noticed that a lot of people has the same problem but without any solution!

I have a PC with a Pentium G840 CPU with HD Graphics which I have just upgraded to Windows 8.1 and the display driver no longer works (the PC reverts to the default Microsoft driver without GPU acceleration). According to the following FAQ there is currently no Windows 8.1 driver for Pentium HD Graphics:

Is really needed a INTEL official driver for HD3000/2000 in 8.1

Stop this "Download via Windows Update" BS.

The "driver" from Windows Update lacks QuickSync (tested in PotPlayer QS Mode with driver .2932).

And driver .3223 (Intel's Downloads : thats have QuickSync) cause corruption in IE, Firefox and Windows (Metro) News App.

Please. post new driver.

Ironic, For Win 8.1 last driver is .2932, while for Win 8 is .3190

Actually that red boxes and red lines is graphic corruption in IE11.

There seems to be some kind of graphical corruption in XBMC with the new drivers ... icons/logos get corrupted in the interface and there are some other minor corruptions in lists (will upload images later when i get home).

I'm running the latest 64-bit drivers on two different systems both with an i3 (HD 4000) and both experience the same problem.

Operating system used is win 8 (one PRO and the other "vanilla" win 8). System 1 is runnig XBMC 12 and the other XBMC 12.1 and both are runnig the "Aeon Nox" skin .. same corruption in both.

Can someone else please confirm this issue.

I have a problem with Open GL support: when I start our application in my laptop (Asus U36SD) I can't see anything on the screen (there should be a video stream), When I connect an external display to my laptop's VGA connector the application works fine. Note I watch the application still on the laptop's screen. The external display is switched off. The problem is related to Open GL functions. Without the connected VGA cable the Open GL service is not available. The application works fine with with an almost similar laptop (Asus U31J).

My laptop has two display adapters: Intel HD 3000 and Nvidia GT 520M. I am using the integrated adapter = Intel.

Any ideas?
