HD Gfx Driver 15.33.18.64.3496 not releasing hotkeys when they are disabled

Hello,

I use the Sublime text editor which makes heavy use of the keys ctrl-alt-down and ctrl-alt-up.  After upgrading to the HD Graphics Driver to 15.33.18.64.3496 I cannot use these key combinations even though the Manage Hot Keys option is disabled.

So I enabled them in Manage Hotkeys and changed them to alt-shift-F11 and F12 and then they worked in Sublime.

Then to be sure,  I clicked on Manage Hot Keys Restore Defaults and they did not work again in Sublime.

Then I repeated the workaround by changing them and disabled the option in Manage Hot Keys and still they did not work in Sublime.  In fact after doing the Restore Default there seems to be no way to get the driver to release these hotkeys to applications.

I have used the Ethervane ActiveHotkeys utility to conclude that this Driver registers the hotkeys and does not release them when the option is disabled and this is a problem with other applications like Sublime.

I have upgraded from driver 9.18.10.3071

Please look into this issue,

     Thank you

hotkeys problem; driver version 10.18.10.3621

Hello,

OS: win 8.1 x64; driver version 10.18.10.3621.

I guess I've stumbled upon a pretty annoying bug, which I'd like to report. The problem only surfaced after the last time Windows updated the Intel Graphics software, so I assume the problem didn't exist in the previous versions.

The hotkeys that the software sets by default function globally, so no other software is able to utilize them unless they're disabled from the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. The problem is that even if the hotkeys are indeed disabled from there, they remain bound to the Intel Software, and -- even though the said software itself doesn't use them anymore -- there's no way to use them elsewhere.

I've temporally circumvented that by deleting everything related to the hotkeys from [HKEY_USERS\*\Software\Intel\Display\igfxcui\HotKeys] (binary values with hex data).

Also, just out of curiosity, I've got a question: there's a dword value in the same branch named "HotKeyState", doesn't anyone know what it's supposed to do? It's value data is 1, and it gets reverted to 1 even if changed to 0 or something else. Just to clarify, I ask this because initially I thought that the value in question might be the culprit.

Intel HD Graphics Control Panel tray icon always visible at startup

Hi,

I have recently updated the driver of my intel graphics card to the latest versoin and since then the Intel HD Graphics control panel tray icon is always visible when I restart my laptop, despite having selected "Disable" tray icon from the preferences section in the control panel. I try to keep as little as possible in the system tray and this bug is very annoying.

I can manually hide the tray icon every time but it's not the ideal solution. Is this a know bug or does this just happen on my laptop?

Problems Installing Intel Graphics Update

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS 702X with an Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU 2.20Ghz. I'm trying to update my graphics driver so I can play the game "Smite." However when I install the recommended update (15.28.22.64.3517) my screen becomes distorted with lines running through it. This problem with the screen only happens when I start up the laptop normally not in Safe-mode.  I did a system restore and to remove the driver update. Any advice on how to get this to install correctly would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Brand new build - Intel HD 4600 driver keeps crashing and recovering! aargh!

As I see others are experiencing, I am suffering from constant crashing and recovering of intel HD 4600 integrated graphics on a new build and it is driving me insane. Any help towards a fix would be greatly appreciated!

Tried the usual stuff, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, rolling back drivers, updating drivers, updating BIOS, downloading MSI live update client to apply display drivers for me, installing from the CD that came with the mobo... I'm running out of ideas. Doesnt appear to be anything funny happening with RAM or CPU locking up. Anything video related seems to trigger it ie. youtube, playing a video in VLC etc. tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration in flash to no avail. All windows updates are applied and current.

I have an HP Envy Touchsmart 15 laptop with built in Intel HD4000 graphics. I'm having problems installing the driver I need so that I can update my system to Windows 8.1. HP is blocking me from downloading the driver from Intel's website, was wondering if there was a way for me to get around that since I have been waiting more than a year now for HP to release an updated driver?

Is Acer Aspire One AO756-1007S Graphics compatible with The Sims 4

$

Hello everybody,

I'm a newcommer in this community and this is my first discussion.

It will be about graphics capabilities of my daughter's Acer Aspire One notebook, with the following specs:

CPU:    Intel Celeron 1007U 1500 MHz, Intel HM70 chipset

      Memory:  2 GB DDR3

Video:  Video Adapter Type - Integrated Graphics

Video Chipset         - Intel GMA HD

                 Graphics Memory    - Technology SMA

                 Screen Resolution   - 1366x768

      HDD:   500 GB

      Windows 7, 32 bit

      DirectX  10.1

My daughter wanted to try The Sims 4 Game Demo, but when trying to start the demo, an error message is displayed, saying that the video card is not compatible, or the videodriver needs to be updated.

The Sims 4 system requirements, regarding the graphics adapter, are declared as follows:

VIDEO CARD: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0.

Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better,

        ATI Radeon X1300 or better,

        Intel GMA X4500 or better

So, my question is - should this notebook's graphics be compatible with The Sims 4 requirements, or not ?

And, if NOT - is there any solushion to this problem ?

Thank you in advance to everybody, who is ready to help !

Best regards

Need Help!

I got a H87 motherboard with CPU i5 4570 , Windows 8.

I tried to connect to Dell 27" U2713HM monitor by hdmi, but I cannot set the resolution to 2560x1440.

I have double check the motherboard manual which said it support up to 4k by hdmi.

and I upgraded the Intel HD graphic driver to the newest version.

But I still could not set the resolution to 2560x1440.

In the Intel graphic control panel and Win 8 resolution setting, it only show up to 1080p in the resolution pull down menu.

I could only selection resolution up to 1080o only.

Would anyone can help me, how can I set the resolution to 2560x1440, which should be supported by the Intel HD 4600.

Thank all for the help

Intel HD Graphics Driver Update Problem

Hello everyone,

I tried to update my Intel HD Graphic driver to the 15.28.15.64.3062 version that came out 03/21/2013 and I'm pretty sure I don't have that version.

I downloaded the zip and the exe version but in both case it showed me the same error message:

"this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software"

I checked and I do have all the requirements that are written in the "Installation_Readme" file. I'm only not sure about the third condition which is:

"There should be sufficient hard disk space in the <TEMP> directory on the system in order to install this software" because I don't know where to find

that information but i think I have space because I have about 20 GB free on my C/ disk.

These are my computer information:

Computer : Toshiba Satellite L655 PSK1EE

Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU       M370   @2.40GHz

System type : 64-bit Operating System

Windows Edition : Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

If it's not enough just tell me what to add and how to find the information about it.

Problem playing Blu-Ray discs with PowerDvd after update to latest HD Graphics 4000 Driver (10.18.10.3621)?

$

Hi, I used to be able to play all my Blu-ray discs (Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, GI Joe, Tomb Raider, Expendables 2, all region A, no exclusive Blu-ray features) on my Lenovo Ideapad Y580 laptop (2012, Windows 7, Intel i7-3610QM, HD graphics 4000, Nvidia GTX660M), using bundled Cyberlink PowerDvd10. Until recently.

Bought Van Helsing (comes with U-control, BD live, D-motion features). The player won't play & showed error stating incompatible graphics driver. Went to windows device manager & click Intel HD graphics 'Update driver software' (done on Aug 2014). It searched online & stated update is complete (quick process, I have no idea what's been updated). Went to Windows Update, found optional updates available for 'Intel Corporation-Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, 1.2, 1.3 Aug 8th'. Performed update but update failed. Tried multiple times, still can't update that. Frustrated, tried playing Van Helsing, and to my joy, it played well.

Thinking my drivers were outdated, I went to Intel website & download/perform driver update to 10.18.10.3621. After that, ALL my Blu-Ray discs won't play??!! Went back to device manager, but 'Roll back driver' was dimmed, can't select it. Went back to Intel website, no previous drivers on their website!! Went to Cyberlink website & update PowerDvd to latest version, still can't play! The problem here is that new driver that trashed my system! I even noticed increased heat on my laptop. The Intel Graphics Adapter WDDM still showed as failed in windows update, and no new updates available?

Contacted Cyberlink, no help there. Please, Intel technical support. I need your help on this

Intel HD 4600 - HDMI Monitor Will Not Sleep

$

The monitor connected to the HDMI port will not sleep, the one connected to the DVI port does.

I have i5-4690k, ASRock Z97 Extreme6, two HP 23xi monitors, Win 8.1 x64, current drivers.

Similar Problem... Monitor does not sleep with latest Intel GFX drivers

The monitors both went to sleep fine using the same cables on my old pc with a graphics card.

I have tried different HDMI cables, an HDMI (pc) to DVI (monitor) cable, and swapped the monitors.

The monitors say Monitor Going To Sleep, and the DVI monitor goes to sleep and stays asleep.

The HDMI monitor sleeps for 1 second, then says Monitor Going To Sleep, sleeps for 1 second, etc. in a loop.

The problem is either with the motherboard (all drivers and UEFI up to date) or with the Intel 4600 HD driver.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the problem?  I haven't tried the DisplayPort (I dont have a cable).

Removing the driver and using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter has the same problem.

Color Calibration Issue with HD 4600 Graphics on Dell Latitude E6540

$

0

I have a Dell Latitude E6540 for my work computer that is equipped with an Intel Core i7-4610M CPU with integrated HD 4600 graphics.  I have calibrated the display colors using a ColorMunki Display calibrator from Xrite and the screen now looks very good.  It was far into the blue range prior to calibration.

I have set the new color calibration profile to be the default under the Windows Color Management tab of the display's properties and also changed the system defaults under the Color Management Advanced Tab to ensure that the new color calibration is the default calibration for the system and all users.  All seems to be working well, except for one issue that keeps cropping up.  When the laptop resumes from hibernation, the display reverts back to its original, non-color calibrated state.  I then have to go in and manually force it to reload the default color calibration to restore it to its proper state using the new color calibration.

In researching this issue on the Internet, I've come across numerous articles claiming that this loss of color calibration is essentially a known issue when using Intel Integrated graphics and has remained unaddressed since the chips were introduced.  This led me to some experimentation and I have found that if I kill the igfxCUIService.exe process, one of the Intel Graphics-related processes, before the computer goes into hibernation, that when it wakes up it will maintain the new color calibration.

This is one of those really annoying problems as it requires manual intervention on a daily basis and reloading the color calibration is several windows and tabs deep in the system.  I have tried to disable the igfxCUIService.exe service, but it always gets re-enabled by the system after a restart, so either way, I haven't been able to permanently address the problem.

Does anyone know of any other ways or settings to use to correct this issue or get Intel to correct their drivers?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Simple demo of HD 4400 and HD 4600 screen tearing under Windows 8.1 + DirectX 9

$

0

Summary

I've getting screen tearing on both HD 4400 and HD 4600 machines running Windows 8.1 when using DirectX 9.  I've reduced the problem to a short demo program, and made the source code available.  The demo, on failing machines, shows red on the screen that should be all blue.  More so if the program is compiled in "Release" mode, hence my suspicion of a timing issue.

Details

The HD 4400 machine has a BIOS and graphics driver up to date as of 2014-Aug-12.  I have not seen the problem on machines with discrete graphics cards running Windows XP or Windows 7.  Alas I don't have a HD 4400/4600 machine running Windows 7, so I don't know know if the root cause is Windows 8.1 or the Intel graphics.

The program uses DirectX 9 and double buffering, in a way that I've used successfully for nearly a decade, and I believe is vanilla code.  The source code and executable are available from my personal web site (RedFlicker - Blonzonics) along with instructions for running the program.  Here is what the program does:

  1. Fill a buffer with RED pixels.
  2. Overwrite the buffer with BLUE pixels.
  3. Ship the buffer to the screen.
  4. Repeat.

By my understanding, the screen should always show BLUE pixels, because the RED pixels are totally overwritten before the buffer is displayed.  But the top of the screen shows RED pixels sometimes, as if the buffer is being prematurely displayed, (or is delayed in being not displayed after buffer swapping?)  Possibilities:

  • I've been using DirectX 9 incorrectly for nearly a decade, and never noticed until Windows 8.1/HD 4x00 showed up.
  • DIrectX 9 + Windows 8.1 has a bug.
  • Intel's driver or hardware has a bug.

What's the best way to attempt to resolve this issue?

P.S. Gory Details for DirectX 9 Experts

More details follow, of possible interest to DirectX experts who might spot something wrong in my code.  Below is how I am updating and displaying the buffer (from lines 244-268 of RedFlicker.cpp in the source code from the website):

static void UpdateAndDraw( HWND hwnd ) {    HRESULT hr;    Device->BeginScene();    IDirect3DSurface9* backBuffer=0;    hr = Device->GetBackBuffer(0,0,D3DBACKBUFFER_TYPE_MONO,&backBuffer);    Assert(hr==D3D_OK);    D3DSURFACE_DESC desc;    hr = backBuffer->GetDesc(&desc);    Assert(hr==D3D_OK);    D3DLOCKED_RECT lockedRect;    hr = backBuffer->LockRect(&lockedRect,NULL,D3DLOCK_NOSYSLOCK|D3DLOCK_DISCARD);    Assert(hr==D3D_OK);    FillWithCheckerBoard(desc, lockedRect, 0xFF0000);    FillWithCheckerBoard(desc, lockedRect, 0x0000FF);    hr = backBuffer->UnlockRect();    Assert(hr==D3D_OK);    backBuffer->Release();    Device->EndScene();    hr = Device->Present( 0, 0, 0, 0 );    if( hr!=D3D_OK ) {        Decode(hr);  }
}

Here is the routine that sets up the "present" parameters:

static void SetPresentParameters( D3DPRESENT_PARAMETERS& present ) {    ZeroMemory( &present, sizeof(D3DPRESENT_PARAMETERS) );    present.BackBufferCount           = 2;    present.SwapEffect                = D3DSWAPEFFECT_DISCARD;    present.BackBufferFormat          = D3DFMT_X8R8G8B8;    present.Flags = D3DPRESENTFLAG_LOCKABLE_BACKBUFFER;    present.Windowed                  = !ExclusiveMode;    if( ExclusiveMode ) {        present.BackBufferHeight = DisplayHeight;        present.BackBufferWidth = DisplayWidth;    }
}

The "present" parameters are transmitted to DirectX in this routine:

static bool InitializeDirectX( HWND hwnd ) {    HRESULT hr;    // Create the Direct3D interface object.    d3d = Direct3DCreate9( D3D_SDK_VERSION );    Assert(d3d!=NULL);    // Get device capabilities    D3DCAPS9 displayCaps;    hr = d3d->GetDeviceCaps(0,D3DDEVTYPE_HAL,&displayCaps);    Assert(hr==D3D_OK);    // Get resolution of current display mode    D3DDISPLAYMODE displayMode;    hr = d3d->GetAdapterDisplayMode(0,&displayMode);    Assert(hr==D3D_OK);    DisplayHeight = displayMode.Height;    DisplayWidth = displayMode.Width;    // Create the device    D3DPRESENT_PARAMETERS present;    SetPresentParameters(present);    hr = d3d->CreateDevice(        D3DADAPTER_DEFAULT,        D3DDEVTYPE_HAL,        hwnd,        D3DCREATE_SOFTWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING,        &present,        &Device    );    if ( hr!=D3D_OK  ) {        char buffer[200];        sprintf_s(buffer,200,"Internal error: d3d->CreateDevice returned %s\n",Decode(hr));        MessageBoxA(hwnd,buffer,NULL,MB_OK|MB_ICONWARNING);        return false;    }      return true;
}

The source code download has the full source (360 lines) and a VS2013 solution for compiling it.

Graphics Problem

I have a problem with my TV/Computer setup that just started today.

My computer is an HP 110-023w

TV is a SANYO DP50843

The computer I have came with a VGA and DVI-D port for output. I have a DVI-to-HDMI dongle with an HDMI cable running to the TV (the TV doesn't have a VGA or DVI input port on it)

I have it hookd to HDMI 1 because that is the only way to get sound as well. All was working fine today until I was on it and my daughter did something. I'm not exactly sure what, but now

the aspect ratio is all wrong. The horizontal margins are fine, but the vertical isn't. I thought maybe it was the TV but switching the cable from HDMI1 to HDMI2 fixed the problem. However, I need

sound as well and don't have the money for speakers.

I've tried everything I can find on how to fix the sling, including the TV settings, the Intel HD Graphics GUI, the built-in Windows graphics adjustment, still no fix.

If someone could shine some light on maybe something I haven't tried yet, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also I tried updating the drivers, still no fix.

BSOD possibly due to Intel HD Graphics 4400

Hello,

I just joined this community to inform and to discuss with u a very important problem.

I bought my VAIO laptop 1.5 months back with model name SVF15328SGW, Since then i have problem so slow response and frequent windows crashes. I followed the problem and did everything that the experts on internet said and also consulted internet and Sony service center but the problem was not solved. The problem was very poor performance of Notebook and BSOD whenever i used to wake it up from sleep. Yesterday i disabled Intel HD graphics from Device manager and noted that after it is disabled i can't put the pc to sleep because the option of sleep was lost. Then i realized it might be the Intel HD Graphics 4400 drivers that causing the problem. So i followed the instructions and Installed Beta drivers from intel site instead of drivers supplied by Sony. The performance problem is almost solved and Notebook is performing quite well. and The BSOD problem still persists. Kindly help me solve this problem.
