    Description

Provide a detailed description of the issue

I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. After the upgrade I am no longer getting any sound. Furthermore, the Intel Display Audio sound configuration only has an option for 2 channels. The option for 7.1 is no longer there (it was there in Windows 7). Under encoded formats it no longer shows support for Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-HD MA, and Dolby TrueHD. (These were all listed under Windows 7)

Please place an X to the right of the option showing how often you see this issue using specific steps. (Ex: 'Every few times a game is started it flickers.' <- This would be "Often")

    1. Upgrade to Windows 10

    Other Notes:

    • I have updated the Intel Graphics drivers to the latest according to the Intel Driver Update Utility.
    • All of this worked perfectly fine in Windows 7. I only had problems after I upgraded to Windows 10.
    • Currently I have no audio at all except for system sounds. Video is silent. This is my home theatre PC so I'd like to get it working to be able to watch movies again.

    Brightness/screen jumping

When I recently updates my dell XPS 15 9550 driver the screen has been acting very annoying recently. The screen is randomly jumping in brightness and dimming. Its very hard to explain its almost like flashing but the brightness changes and its not a smooth transition it just randomly goes straight to a different brightness. I have adaptive brightness off and when I go to change the brightness it is where I left it. Its like the screen is having dimming issues but somehow stays at the brightness I set it to. Maybe the contrast is changing or something but this has gotten absolutely unbearable it happens 5 times at least in a minute constantly changing brightness or contrast or blinking its hard to describe. There is no physical damage I treat this thing like gold. The drivers will not update either. I have tried to update drivers that say they need to be updated many times and when I check to see if they updated the same driver updates show up like nothing ever happened. all drivers.PNGThese I have tried to update at least 5 times and every time I rescan and check the same updates show up (dells website) yes I do restart my device after every install

Intel.PNGThis is from an intel scan and the same problem happened where I try to install it and restart and when I rescan the same update shows up like nothing happened.

    Here are my Driver details

    intel 530.PNG

Yes I have tried updating my graphics card too and it is up to date but I do not think that is the problem since this error started occurring after the intel 530 update

Please help! this annoyance is becoming unbearable!

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Intel HD Graphics 4600 Windows 10 64-bit

I have updated from Windows 8 to Windows 10 more than a half year ago. Initially, everything was OK. Then I started to get the error "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Intel HD Graphics 4600 Windows 10 64-bit". Now I am getting the error every 10-15 minutes, mainly when using text editors. I have tried updating the drivers automatically via Devices manager, but it said the current driver was already up to date. Then I tried updating manually by downloading the latest drivers in an .exe file. However, the installation was blocked by Windows, because the author of the driver was unknown. Does anybody have the same issue? What should I do?

HD4000 (with 3rd gen) black screen issue on Windows 10 TH2 (was working with original release 10240)

This has been reported by several other users http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/intel-hd-4000-drivers-cause-black-screen-in/f93e2b9…

    who share two main characteristics:

A - They are using 3rd gen cpu and the corresponding driver

B - They were able to install the original Windows 10 release (15240) without issues, so the black screen is specific to TH2 and later versions (in my case it would be RS1 available to insiders)

It is still not working with the latest 3rd gen driver 15.33.43.4425 Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.33] . From the driver notes it seems that this series has yet to be tested with TH2, so that might explain things.

MS Powerpoint ribbon does not scale appropriately when plugged into an external monitor using Intel Iris 540 on windows 10 Pro -- has anybody else experienced this?

MS powerpoint ribbon does not scale when plugged into external monitor using Intel Iris 540 on windows 10 Pro.

Other Office applications display fine and the display transitions fine to the laptop alone. These monitors worked fine before. Spent a few hours on the phone with Office powerpoint support and they thought it was an issue with graphics card and not Office, not surprisingly.

The same display issue is true for PDFs as well.

    Any help appreciated!

    Doom @ Vulkan

    Hi everyone,

since the latest v4474/v4475 drivers it's possible to play Doom (2016) on OpenGL using Intel HD / Iris Graphics. Big THX to the driver team!!!

Today ID Software released a patch to add Vulkan support for Doom

    But here is the problem:

The latest Intel Vulkan Beta drivers are v4473... and with those Doom refuses to start (The known problem before v4474/4475).

May I request a new Beta driver? I want to see how Doom performs when using the Vulkan API.

    Thanks an kind regards,

    Loeschzwerg

INTEL will you fix Fallout 4 corruption via driver update?

    $

    As the topic headding says,

Intel has been looking into this as we're meant to believe.

A community discussion has been here since 5/5/2016 and I am still hopeful about the fix

Fallout 4 has had graphical corruption since updated to v. 1.3 of the game.

Can I please have an update on Intel's progress on solving the issues.

Since I use my HP tablet, Core M 6Y54 with HD 515

I don't really play but I mod on the tablet in my spare time at work and this is basically preventing from even bothering to try.

Skyrim works fine and I mod often with creation kit and test Skyrim on the tablet. It performs quite well.

As does Fallout 4. I get 20-25fps and am happy with performance. As I said I use this for molding as I have a monster crossfire rig for gaming.

I like to mod while on the go!

Screen Grabs included are game version 1.3 very heavily corrupted

But with latest updates and driver.

I am getting simple black lines and specific scenes missing objects such as toilet paper roll as an example or a shelf is missing with objects in free air!

    - NEW- Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Driver update posted for Haswell and Broadwell version 15.36.21.4222

    $
    0
    0

This update addresses several previously found issues and includes new features. Please see the release notes and excerpt below for details. As always, feedback is appreciated.

The 15.36.21.4222 has been posted to Intel Download Center at the following direct links to the drivers:

    32bit -  http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=24965

    64 bit - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=24964

    This driver supports the following:

5th Generation Intel® Core Processors with Intel HD graphics, Intel Iris™graphics, Intel Iris™Pro graphics and select Pentium®/ Celeron® Processors with Intel® HD graphics for Microsoft Windows* 8.1, Microsoft Windows* 8 and Microsoft Windows* 7 operating systems.

4th Generation Intel® Core™Processors with Intel HD graphics, Intel Iris™graphics and Intel Iris Pro graphics and select Pentium®/ Celeron® Processors with Intel® HD graphics for Microsoft Windows* 8.1, Microsoft Windows* 8 and Microsoft Windows* 7 operating systems.

    New Features in this release:

    • Support for the newly launched H-series, R-series, and S-series 5th Generation Intel Core processors.

    • Display Scaling Option is Now “Sticky” User Preference

Scaling support in control panel has been changed to improve user experience. Previously, the set of scaling options available to the user was tied to the currently selected resolution and any change to the resolution caused the user selected scaling option to be lost. In the new implementation, the user selected scaling option is orthogonal to the current resolution and expresses the user’s preference/intent for scaling behavior, regardless of the current resolution. The driver will remember this scaling preference and apply it for future display mode sets performed either in the graphics control panel OR via OS control panel.

    • Forced Application Scaling

The control panel also offers a new “forced application scaling” option where the user selected scaling option above for desktop will also be applied for full screen applications (generally games or media players), overriding whatever scaling mode the application and/or DirectX runtime/Operating System specify. This is intended to allow users to force “Stretch Full Screen” or “Maintain Aspect Ratio” scaling to address problems reported by users with games running in “Centered” scaling mode - particularly DirectX10 and 11 games and/or on Windows 8/8.1. Centered mode gives a bad user experience when running games as significantly lower than native resolution (e.g. to improve frame rate) on displays with very high resolutions. Intel has identified several root causes for this behavior:

    untitled.png

    a) Some games request “Unspecified” scaling to the DirectX runtime upon full screen mode set. On Windows 8 and 8.1, for touch enabled systems, Windows converts this to “centered” scaling in the mode set call into the display driver. Microsoft has acknowledged this issue (CSS case 115021712411905/MSBU bug 5500783); the forced scaling option provided in this driver is a workaround for this Win8/8.1 operating system issue.

    b) Several games explicitly request “Centered” scaling. Intel has reached out to the game developers to educate them to request “Stretched” scaling instead and several games (such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare) have been patched to correct this behavior, but other applications may still have this issue.

In both cases, the new forced application scaling option provides a solution to allow the user to specify their preferred scaling mode.

This option is not enabled by default because it technically means that the graphics driver is not honoring operating system requests for mode sets and would cause WHCK test failures during driver certification. However, Intel strongly recommends users set this option when playing games at non-native resolutions, especially on Windows 8/8.1, especially for DirectX10/11 games.

    •   Dedicated Memory Reporting

The graphics driver now reports some amount of fictitious “dedicated” graphics memory to the operating system (128MB by default) to work around applications issues in a number of games. These games incorrectly look for some amount of “dedicated” graphics memory because they weren’t coded with the unified memory architecture for processor graphics.

The amount reported can be modified or disabled if desired by changing the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Intel\GMM, create a REG_DWORD value named “DedicatedSegmentSize”. The value is interpreted as number of MB to report (0-512MB). A value of 0 disables reporting the dummy memory segment. If the registry key/value is not found, the driver will report the default 128MB.

Please see the release notes for issues resolved with this release.

    Thanks

Cannot play Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath with HD Graphics 5500

I just bought a Dell Inspiron with core i5-5500U, Windows 10 64bit and HD Graphics 5500. I also bought Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath from Steam, but I couldn't play it. After the loading panel, the game crashes and say "Fatal Error: Exception in exception handler". What should I do? This is frustrating, as my very old Pentium PC was able to play the game just fine.

What support verifications do I need to make before filing a Better Business Bureau (BBB) report?

After failing to receive support, and buying into Intel's fraudulent claims that the 4th generation core processors work with Windows 7/8/10, I have been out of luck for 3 YEARS. I have not been able to purchase or use software in a reasonable way. I sacrificed most of my resources at that time, based on the fraudulent claims brought forth by Intel (which they still do), as far as claiming that the Haswell CPU/GPU supports Windows 7/8/10. None of this was remotely true. It's been years back and forth with support, software/hardware adjustments, and I've reached the conclusion that Intel has fraudulently claimed compatibility between their CPUs (specifically, 4600 HD) and Windows software.

After installing the most recent graphics driver, the problem has actually gotten worse. I tried TDR changes in the registry, as well.

I'm currently formatting my report to send to the Better Business Bureau, and all I would request from Intel at this point (please don't take up any MORE of my time or money... you've taken enough and lost me as a customer) is any contact information.

I hope to get this CPU OUT of my computer, and to never deal with the horrible, multi-year experience of terrible customer service. Intel is the WORST for support. My motherboard manufacturer AND Microsoft both provided far more support than Intel has... and I've given them 3 YEARS!

I realize I've lost my time, I just want SOME money back.

    Hello,

Before byuing a 4k monitor for my laptop, I would like to get sure my integrated graphics can handle the task.

    My laptop:

    • HP Probook 650 G1 with Intel HD Graphics 4600.
    • Docking station with DisplayPort, DVI-D (dual) and VGA.

    Desired setup for external monitors:

    • 32" monitor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 via DisplayPort
    • 24" monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 via DVI-D (dual)

Would the Intel HD Graphics 4600 be able to handle this?

    Hitman DX12 glitches

    Hi!

It seems that the IGP of Skylake systems have some issues with the DX12 codepath of the most recent Hitman game.

    I tested Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6100 CPU (gfx driver - 20.19.15.4463) and Skull Canyon - NUC6i7KYK (gfx driver - 21.20.16.4451).

First of all, sometimes the game refuses to start, I got a Windows pop-up window with the message: HITMAN has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

If the game starts as expected, one can observe a huge glaring splodge in some specific areas of the game. Other glitch that I found is that for no obvious reason, the game displays rainbow colors all over the place, usually on the floors and walls.

I haven't noticed these glitches with DX11 API.

    Thanks!

Then I tried updating manually by downloading the latest drivers in an .exe file. However, the installation was blocked by Windows, because the author of the driver was unknown. Does anybody have the same issue? What should I do?
